hey everyone how y'all doing today so
for years I've been using a lot phone
ever since the iPhone 4 and I can't see
myself going back to locked into a
carrier or contract without that freedom
to jump ship when I like so I've been on
many networks
Sprint t-mobile AT&T back to AT&T cuz I
did leave them at one time to go to
t-mobile but now I'm actually running on
the AT&T network I'm not with actually
AT&T I'm using Walmart Straight Talk
but Straight Talk runs on the AT&T
network and I did a video based on those
four networks so check out that video if
you have a chance
so unlock phone gives you a great
benefit that you cannot get with a phone
that's locked into a carrier so the two
great benefits of having an unlocked
phone is one you can choose whatever
carry you would like to go to as long as
this gsm and you don't have to worry
about locked into any contract you can
go with a prepaid service like I do or
you can go with the plan but you get to
choose whatever phone you would like to
get and if you choose to buy another
phone yes you'll still be under contract
but you can change that phone while
you're actually in your contract you
don't have to wait til your contract is
up to switch your phone so that's the
kind of freedom you get if you have one
of those unlock phone now going unlock
you have to come up out of pocket so
you'd have to buy the full value of the
phone so the phone is $600 then you
would have to pony up $600 but at least
like I said you don't have to wait
two years to switch your phone if you
want to search your phone every year by
one use it sell it and then buy another
one it's up to you you have that freedom
and I've been on unlocked phone since
the iPhone 4 ever since I gave up my
iPhone 4 I've been strictly unlock and
to tell you the truth I just can't see
myself going back
most unlock phones work internationally
if you go to another country say you're
on vacation for about a week or two and
you would like to have easy access of
using the phone locally on that island
then you can go to that country buy a
SIM card slip it in the phone
and then the phone will be active so you
can make local calls and probably some
international calls to depend on which
country go and how they allow you to
make those phone calls now like I said
the phone has to work on the gsm network
there's two set of networks in the US
you got gsm and you got CDMA and the
main two networks that you see the MA is
Verizon and Sprint AT&T and t-mobile
runs on the GSM network so that's one
thing you need to pay attention to if
you're going unlock you want to make
sure it's compatible with that network
now the GSM network is a wider selection
so that's the network you want to pick
if you go into because that makes it
universal because most countries have
some type of GSM network so you mostly
guaranteed to have some type of
compatibility if you go to another
country and you want to buy that SIM
card to make some phone calls now
unlocked phone comes in different
flavors from different brands so you can
actually get a samsung galaxy phone
that's unlocked and Apple iPhone does
unlock back in the day when I started
buying unlock phone I ended up with a
lot of off-brand phones like blue aces
and whatever else but now you can get an
unlocked phone from all your major
manufacturers so you don't have to worry
about stick with some off-brand phone
that probably won't work as well it's
not reliable
but going to those days where you have
to get some unreliable phone you can get
a major brand phone like I said and
stick with them but it can be unlocked
and setting up on unlock phone doesn't
require any major work I mean if you can
take out a SIM card and put the new one
in you can do it yourself it doesn't
even require you actually going in to
the store and have them set up anything
because the SIM card goes into the phone
the phone recognize it and there's no
major technical setup because everything
is programmed into the SIM card your
phone number and all that stuff to make
it talks to the network so it's like
changing out a battery in your remote
you take the old one out put the new one
in and you're online so to sum it up
here are the benefits of you going
unlock versus locked into a two-year
contract under the Carribean unlock
phones are compatible with most networks
make it easy for you to jump ship
pending you're not on the contract if
you go prepaid then you have that
ability to jump ship whenever you need
to because you're not locked into any
contract and it's a month-to-month basis
you can be on t-mobile in one month and
jump over to AT&T another month and when
you do that nine times out of ten you
can take your number with you I have not
an issue yet but maybe there's an issue
out there exists that I don't know about
that's why it's that nine times out of
ten you'll be able to take your phone
number with you when you switch networks
unlock phones usually work
internationally so you can take your
phone to another country and use the
phone there all you have to do is just
go to that local area cell phone service
provider and get a SIM card and replace
it with the one in your phone you have
the ability to save some money now my
phone is running on the AT&T network his
Straight Talk is prepaid but I'm on a
reliable network and I'm only paying $45
a month so I'm saving some serious cash
compared to when I was on the AT&T
network and I was spending $80 a month
for the same service probably less than
what I was getting back there so I've
literally slashed my phone bill in half
and I'm getting the same amount of
service and reliability just like I
would if I was with AT&T now granted
like I say you'd have to buy the phone
outright but there's so many choices on
the market that you can choose to get
$100 phone $200 phone or $1,000 phone so
how much you spend on getting a phone
that is totally up to you but you have
that flexibility so those are the
benefits of getting an unlocked phone
now you say what about insurance and all
that stuff well most people when they
get a phone they may or may not get
insurance but if the phone messes up and
is from a major manufacturer it's still
under warranty so you can still send
that phone into for instance samsu
to get it fixed even if you don't have a
contract the manufacturer still have
some type of warranty to cover the phone
for a certain period of time so that's
it I just wanted to share this bit of
information because like I said I've ran
into a lot of people that ask me about
phones and they ask me
what kind of phone I have and I try to
explain to them that my phone is on lock
and it's not locked into any particular
carrier so I can go wherever I want to
at any time and I'm always asked what do
I mean by unlock hopefully this video
will help a lot of people that never
heard of unlock phones or heard the term
but didn't understand how does unlock
phones work so that do work just like
your regular phone that will be on a
contract it's just not locked into a
carry you're not getting any lesser for
service you still get all the services
you just have freedom versus somebody
who's locked into a contract ok thanks
