ok so I have my samsung galaxy s5 here
and I'm gonna show you how to do a
factory reset or a hard reset basically
if you guys cannot get into your phone
maybe you forgot your lock screen or
your security password or you forgot
your PIN or the your fingerprints not
working what you can do is a factory
reset now the thing is if we do this
guys you are going to lose all of your
photos all your data all your videos are
going to be long gone
however there are options you can do
even after you format or reset this
phone there are programs where you may
be able to retrieve all of your lost
data now if you are able to get into
your phone and you just want to do a
factory reset because your phone's laggy
or maybe there's some apps not working
correctly and you just want to do you
just want to start back over to clean
slate then obviously what you want to do
is you want to back up your phone for
instance what I would do I would just
save my folk my important photos and
videos and just transfer to my SD card
so first thing we got to do is power
down the phone
okay my phone is off now what you want
to do is you want to hold down three
buttons simultaneously okay so what you
want to do is you want to hold up volume
up button the home button as well as the
power button all at the same time okay
ready one two three
press and hold I just felt it vibrates
now once the Android guide gets on here
which you can simply do is to select oh
of everything wait for the system
recovery boot option to appear like this
and now I'll to scroll up and down we
would simply use the volume up drop
volume up key or the volume down key
which are zoom in here now you can see
where it says wipe data/factory reset'
we want to do that so i'm going to use
the volume down rocker and go down to
wipe data/factory reset' to select it
you simply push on the power button now
this menu will pop up and you want to
scroll all the way down the reason why
they have all these nodes on here is
just like double check that you do want
to do a factory reset because you will
lose all your data go down to delete all
user data and then again select using
the power button and now as you can see
it says down here waiting data
formatting slash data and like I said it
is possible we thank you guys you know
lose all your photos or videos it is
possible to recover those as well I made
you a video next on that okay now it
says here a white data is complete and
you can see right on the default when
you scroll down it goes right to reboot
system now so I just leave that on there
and then select it again push the power
button
let's let it boot back up
and by the way I still have my SD card
in here if you guys want to be safer
then you might want to pull out your SD
card when you do the the format the
thing is I've reset my Galaxy phones a
thousand times and I've always left my
SD card in there I've never had an issue
but if you want to be on the safe side
just in case go ahead and pull that SD
card out
okay so here we go so the phone is a
pretty much a brand new phone just like
you took it out of the box and you had
to go through the setup screen here and
don't forget again this is a factory
reset we did it there's two ways you can
do it you can do a soft reset or hard
reset we did two hard reset
do you guys have questions comment below
you guys sub that the awesome if you
like it that'd be great too okay thanks
guys
