what's up guys i am matt back with
another video today we're gonna check
out a kit from smoke i got a lot of
requests for this one this is the g
proof 2
[Music]
[Music]
all right this is the G proof - made by
smoke this is smokes dual 1862 mod it
does 230 watts
it is a follow up to their very popular
G proof one it's a little bit smaller
the interface is fairly similar but a
little more refined I think it does come
with the ex baby tank the newest tank in
the baby beast line it also does all
your temperature control stuff that you
would expect you got a little
customization in here TC arse all that
stuff you got a side fire button which
smoke is definitely known for and you
can get it in a lot of different color
combos so right now I have the ex baby
on here the coil head is reading point
for 50 watts air flows wide open let's
vape it very very nice so let's go ahead
dive down the table and take a closer
look at it as always big thanks to coil
master for sponsoring the up-close
portion of this video links for them
will be down in the description below
today folks we are looking at the G
proof 2 kit inside you're obviously
going to have your mod underneath that
you do have a manual battery safety card
warranty card charging cable a rubber
case are wrapped whatever you'd want to
call this for the mod the ex baby tank
an extra coil head some spares extra
gloss for the tank and then of course
Veit bands two of them this time so now
I'm just gonna go through this tank very
quickly because we did this already I
think I was on the smoke stick video
that I did I went through this guy
basically it's a variation of the big
baby beast right this is their newest
one the ex baby has top air flow and the
coil heads are different air goes down
the outside chamber there goes up
underneath the coil and then comes up
through the center there one bummer with
this is that it's not interchangeable
with the normal big baby beast because
of that airflow design very very similar
performance to the big baby beast these
coils are definitely a little bit tricky
to prime up this is the point 4 ohm 40
to 80 watts and the extra one you get is
the point 2
40 to 110 watts and that one has
multiple different holes inside as you
can see so three different coils
probably a couple wraps of wire in each
coil let's put it all together then go
to fill it like so and I do wish that
this fill slot was a little bit bigger
if you fill it superfast and you're not
looking at what you're doing
you can possibly get air locked inside
there if that's the case it's basically
because juice is collected in here and
there's an air bubble underneath so
you'll have to pop that so air can get
out see I just did that so you want to
fill it up fairly slow and off to one
side
besides that 24 millimeters looks a lot
like a big baby beast in for base to tip
it's about 54 millimeters I believe okay
here's the mod let's take the plastic
off oh so satisfying so about 85
millimeters tall I think is around 57
millimeters wide and up top here the
full width is about 27 millimeters but
as you can see there's a little platform
there that's rounded and really only
like 24 24 and a half a millimeter
devices will look decent on this I
believe this arc o is 25 and it hangs
over a hair as you can see so anything
bigger you are gonna have some hangover
besides that pretty standard 510
gold-plated spring-loaded looks like the
same 510 that we've seen in a lot of
smoke mods cuz some battery venting down
below and that is where your charge
slash upgrade port is now to get into
the battery compartment you take this
door off and held on by magnets might be
the strongest magnets I've ever seen on
a mod and I've actually bent a nail back
a couple times doing this it's it's
strong which is a good thing and a bad
thing see very clean battery compartment
running in series put the batteries in
here you don't really even have to line
this door up when you put it back on you
just put it like that and it'll snap
into place so it's very strong very
durable it's gonna last a long time
those magnets are bulky says that on the
outside there it's very smoke esque
looks a lot like the original Jeep rib
but it is smaller
there's your button side fire button
good amount of resistance to it as a
nice stiffness to it there's no rattle
on this thing one thing about smoke is
is that the
devices always kind of have the same
feel kind of that glossy paint
transformers type of style I guess but
it seems like every time they put out a
new device that build quality does get a
little bit better from the last time so
this doesn't have any other buttons
besides the fire button and then this
button which is the lock button and I'll
show you that more in a sec so I put the
rubber case over my other one that I've
been using and you know it's very nice
that they they give you this and it
could definitely add some extra
protection for it but it feels a little
flimsy just because there's so many
cutouts on it see so you know there's
there's a lot of thinner pieces around
here and so it moves around a little bit
I'm sure there will be people that will
be charging the batteries and body and
for that you know it doesn't matter but
it makes it even more of a pain to get
to your batteries when this rubber is on
obviously you don't have to use it it's
nice that they did provide it for those
guys that need a very rugged device so
let's take a look at the menu system
here five clicks turns it on booting up
and you get to this screen right here
right now it's in temperature control
mode it shows your temperature you have
it up the right side goes up and
switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit
left side goes down so let's dive into
the menu let's check out variable
wattage mode first it's very simple it's
a simple interface if you want to use
variable wattage mode you just click
that right there and then you can adjust
your preheat you can do soft hard normal
or max but there is no curve setting or
anything like that let's go back in a TC
mode you can you can go between titanium
nickel stainless steel let's just turn
that on
preheat which is basically setting your
wattage for temp control you don't do it
from the normal home screen but you do
it here in the menu and then you can
adjust your TC at TC are setting for
each metal can adjust TC ours but
there's not separate TCR modes per se so
gives you the same functionality it's
just you adjust the TCR on each metal as
you want so anyway back screen is where
you can adjust colors right now it's
blue see how that turns purple so all
like the writing and stuff is going to
change colors
just go to green for now why not and
then you can adjust your screen time how
long your screens on right there so
let's go ahead and put a tank on here it
will ask you new coil and then once you
say yes or no that locks the resistance
in so for example right here I have four
hundred and sixty degrees sixty watts is
the preheat nickel puff counter is right
there this is showing too it's a brand
new device your amps your volts and your
resistance let's go back into variable
wattage mode and this is what the
variable wattage screen looks like shows
your wattage your preheat function which
I have it at normal then all the same
stuff down here and this will scroll all
the way up to all the way up to 230
watts and goes all the way down to one
watt okay so now if you want to lock
this say you want to still be able to
vape but you want to lock your screen so
your you don't accidentally adjust your
settings which is very easy to do on a
touchscreen mod then you would just
press this button which will turn the
screen off so that locks it that way
then you press that button again turns
it back on or if you still want to see
the screen but you just want it locked
you hold the button down and that locks
it people gave me flak last time about
this because I didn't talk about it
enough but smoke was the first one to do
it but that style with the lock button
so just like the original G probe like
the SMO anti no the G proof came first
they have this button here for locking
another thing you can do if you want to
lock everything including the switch so
not you don't want to be able to vape
maybe you want to keep this in your
pocket three clicks and that now your
fire key is locked and then I unlocked
the fire key but the screen
automatically locks and so you have to
unlock that as well if you want to go
back into it here's a look at it in my
hand pretty comfortable device can hold
it that way or this way just make sure
that your screen is locked when you're
done because it's one thing on these
touchscreen mods I do a lot is
accidentally adjust my settings because
I forget to lock it so I think that's it
for the up close guys let's go ahead go
back up top vape this and talk about it
a little more ok here again I have the
point 4 ohm coil head reading 50 watts
air flows while
open all right now as far as the ex baby
tank already talked about this a bit in
another video it is good the only
downfalls are the coils aren't
compatible with normal baby beast and
big baby beast tanks because the the top
air flow the fill ports a little small
on it and one other thing that I would
suggest is is to leave your coil heads
in here a good couple of minutes before
you vape it even if you prime it up it's
hard to the way the coils are designed
they're kind of hard to get to all that
cotton to prime it and so I have ruined
a couple coil heads on the ex baby where
I just you know started vaping right
away and it wasn't completely saturated
yet and it just crisped the cotton if
you let it saturate for a couple of
minutes you're good to go then it'll
last you a good amount of time very
comparable in performance to the baby B
stinks now let's talk about cons as far
as the mod goes it's made very very well
and it's put together well but god I
mean I don't think they needed two of
these magnets in here this thing can be
a [ __ ] to get off you really got to get
your fingernail underneath there whoops
and and get it off and so you know it
definitely gives you confidence in the
device as far as its longevity and how
it'll hold up but it's kind of a pain in
the butt if you got really short nails
you might fight with this a little bit
might want to just grab your pocket
knife or a coin or something to pry that
open another minor con is that you got
the port on the bottom which is kind of
a pain you can use this while charging
it if you want to but you know you
obviously will have to keep it laid down
the internal charging on this is
actually pretty nice when I've done it a
couple times and both battery bars pop
up and I'll show you the percentage of
each battery on its own which is cool I
still think it's better for your
batteries to charge them in an external
charger but if you're in a pinch I
wouldn't have a problem with charging
them internally with this it's got
balance charging too I believe another
con is that with the way the platform is
kind of rounded up here it's really made
for you know 24 millimeter tanks like
the ex baby here anything bigger and
it's going to hang over it I might look
a little funky obviously things smaller
wood wood
fine but that's one of their subjective
con I wouldn't have minded if it was
just more squared off you know on the
side but to each his own if you're
someone that uses huge massive tanks
this might not be for you another con is
that when you're in temperature control
mode yes you can adjust your wattage
they call it your preheat wattage but
it's basically like other devices you're
adjusting your wattage right but you
have to dive into the menu to do it you
can't do it from the home screen so
there is an extra step there kind of a
small thing for me because I don't use
temp control a lot but it's worth
pointing out and also it doesn't have
curves so it's got preheat functions you
know the soft normal hard but it doesn't
have the curve where you can adjust
every second of your vape and fine-tune
it that way so all my cons are pretty
minor on this it's definitely a
refinement from the jeepers if I didn't
review the G prep I did play with it a
little bit not enough to give it a full
review but it was very similar looking
to this it was larger the screen wasn't
as good it kind of had the same layout
but just wasn't as refined and clean
looking as this guy is you know you're
not getting any extra crazy features
with this compared to the original G
probe they just kind of refined it made
it smaller give it a better screen build
qualities a little better things like
that if you love the G proof and you
want a new device then this might be for
you you'll know what you're getting just
a little better version of what you
already have if you don't and you were
on the fence about the original G proof
this might be the one to you know jump
into because it's definitely up there
with the best touchscreen mods I have
used so far I give the SMO ants a pretty
good review had a few cons you know I
like the look of that one a little bit
better cuz I like stuff that's more
plain you know smoke has more of like
the Hot Wheels type feel to it where
with the glossy paint and stuff it's
just their style some people love it
some people don't
but I really I liked the look of the
small ant mod a little bit better as far
as features they're pretty similar
they're pretty on par this moment had a
couple quirks about it so you know it
kind of depends on who your fan of I
don't I like both mods but you know if
your small ant fan you like their stuff
go for it but if you're a smoke fan and
you loved the original G probe you'll
have other smoke
Maude's then this would probably be the
one you'd want to go for so all in all
it's just another refinement of a
touchscreen device it's made well the
build quality is fantastic
there's no rattling it's comfortable in
the hand the screen is really really
nice on it it's nice and bright you can
change the colors on it which is cool
it's a very nice size for your pocket I
have no doubt that people that liked the
original G probe will like this one even
more cuz it's that mod but like I said
it's refined it's not the cheapest
touchscreen mod out there this kit is a
hundred bucks so you get the tank and
the mod the tanks about a thirty dollar
value I think so you're paying about 70
70 bucks for the mod I'm assuming that
the touch panels obviously cause an
extra cost to the to the mods and so I
do get that I will put links in the
description for where you can pick this
up don't forget to check out our channel
matt and vide that about wraps it up
until next time thanks for watching
