hey this is Chris Menard today at
Microsoft Word I'm gonna do something
extremely advanced I have a document I
just threw together but what I want to
do is this I have annual report on page
one as the header but it's also section
one so I did multiple section breaks
throughout this document and I have
different headers so now I'm in section
two and it says North America up in the
header I keep on moving down down in the
bottom left corner is section 3 and
that's Europe still Europe Africa is
section 4 and I leave about through Asia
out here ok here's the issue I'm gonna
go back to the top of the document if I
remove the very first header and delete
it assuming that all the other headers
are gonna get deleted the answer is that
won't happen because of section breaks
so just to show you this I'm gonna close
the header and footer so there's still
North America Europe on and on so the
issue is let me do an undo and you'll
reports back so the only way to get rid
of every header or every footer at one
time or even both is with a macro now
the macro I'm gonna be use was written
by let me pull up to the top of the page
here there's Allen Wyatt so what I'm
gonna do is I'm going to end up running
this macro and if you go it can be one
second by the way this computer's only
11 years old and it's acting like it's
11 years old today there we go well copy
that so what I'm going to do is put a
link on my YouTube page of this video
obviously and if you go to my video so
if you find my video on LinkedIn or
somewhere else open it in YouTube click
show more and I'm gonna put that macro
code there I'm going to put a link to
Allen's website
and I'm gonna have a little more text
about what I'm doing so here we go
back in word have already copied I'm
back in word I've already copied that
code from Alan's site the developer tabs
running I'm also going to put up in the
top left a table of content so you can
jump around this video if you don't know
how to turn on the Developer tab because
it's off by default you click on file
and you go down to options and when you
go to file options customize ribbon over
to the left the Developer tab by default
is not checked in Microsoft Word just
put a check in it and it'll always be
there so Developer tab click on Visual
Basic you'll get this window control V
paste your code in there basically the
macro is going to be called remove head
and foot
that's that very first line there go to
file close and return to word so here we
go this macro should get rid of every
header and footer macros don't worry
that I've got three extra in there
there's the one you want run let's test
it ice know that page one section one is
gone-gone North America's gone
Europe's gone Africa's gone Asia is gone
they're all gone so anyway hopefully
that'll help that is a great video I may
go get myself a thumbs up on that anyway
thanks for your time have a good weekend
