hi guys welcome to a short
video about how to get rid of the
function lock i've never had this in my
entire life and just had it on this
laptop and i had some problems to find
the solution i just
found it by chance just by
clicking around uh maybe there's some
instruction but i haven't found it but
i wanted to let you know how this is so
this the function lock i mean we have
usually a function here on the laptops
sometimes
also on other keyboards here we have it
just because we don't have the full key
set
and you can see i can type normal
letters here but when i go to the right
side
you can see the u has also a
four i don't know why we have also the
four here but it's just
it is as it is we have some other things
yeah not much i mean we have the plus
and here we have the
point we have the minus so yeah
for example instead of the i here
it's typing d5 you can see this clearly
and
this is just the function key and i mean
and i can hit it
as much as i want it it doesn't help
so it doesn't it doesn't get released
and there's no
indication that it is pressed and
i first thought yeah okay it's no big
deal most of the
problems which you have is keyboards uh
get away when you just do a reboot and i
was doing a reboot of this pc even
updates to latest windows version and it
didn't go
away so i kept trying around
and this is what i have found so
i hit the fn and the
num blocks which is the f12 i think it's
in a lot of cases it's the f12
and when i hit d i or d5 you can see
now it's back on the it's not typing
this
silly function numbers here anymore
so in this case it really helped with
the function
and the non-blocks i mean i can turn it
on again so you can see that i can do
this all the time
just pressing the i and here we go
and now it's the eye and we can go back
so it's a really heavy switch and it
even
survives a boot of this laptop that's
insane and uh there's i mean it just
says
num lock but it's actually here in this
case it's a function lock i've never
heard about the things
i mean on a lot of keyboards we have the
num lock but here
at least acting as a function log maybe
same thing if you had some kind of a
numbers block maybe it would be same
thing i have really no clue but
it helped me and i hope it will help you
too if you have any questions or
comments or bad
solutions just write everything down
into the feedback area i'm always happy
to talk about these things and if you
