Thinking of approaching a Spanish speaker
saying something like
"Hola guapa" or "Hola guapo"?
Well, don't!
Hola mi gente y bienvenidos a Spring Spanish.
I am Paulísima
and I'm one of the Spanish teachers
at Spring Spanish.
Si no quieres,
If you don't want
that a language barrier comes between you
and encontrar el verdadero amor,
and finding true love.
You have come to the right place!
Porque en este video vas a aprender,
in this video you will learn
5 phrases that you can use
to up your flirting game en español.
I've kept it classy, gender neutral and fun!
So, you nunca, nunca, jamás,
never, never, again
have to say
a boring hola guapa or hola guapo.
¡Empecemos!
Número uno.
Number one.
Qué bien te queda ese/esa,
and this means something like
How great that (something) suits you.
Let's use it.
¡Qué bien te queda ese saco!
How great that jacket suits you!
¡Qué bien te queda esa falda!
How great that skirt suits you!
¡Qué bien te queda ese color!
And this one is perfect
because you don't have to learn
what color you're talking about.
You are just saying how great that color suits you
and this means you don't have to learn them all
but, I mean, you could if you wanted.
Check out Cory's video
about love language before I continue
because that one is super helpful as well.
Número dos.
Tienes una voz muy bonita.
Or you could also say:
Tienes una sonrisa muy bonita.
Voz is voice and sonrisa is smile.
These are great things to compliment,
they are gender neutral
and they are also super classy to be talked about,
don't you think?
In the phrases:
¡Qué bonita voz! or
¡Qué bonita sonrisa!
The word Qué means what.
And is used in Spanish like in that song, you know?
Like, "What a feeling"?
Número tres.
¿Me permites invitarte algo?
This translates as:
Would you allow me to get you something?
And it's a much better alternative to:
"Can I get you a drink?"
Right?
And I love it because it's long,
it's elegant,
but also it exudes flirting energy
and that combined with the fact
that you would be trying to speak
in another language…
Oh, my god! That is like, super adorable
and irresistible,
so go for it, ladies and gentlemen.
Número cuatro.
Me gusta mucho tu estilo.
I really like your style.
Come on!
Who doesn't like to be complimented on their style?
Well, in my case kind of like the lack of thereof.
I really like this phrase
because it's very general but,
dependiendo de cómo la digas,
depending on how you say it,
it can sound muy personal,
very personal,
but in the best way possible.
Número cinco.
Me encantaría verte de nuevo. ¿Qué opinas?
I'm getting the feels!
Me encantaría verte de nuevo. ¿Qué opinas?
I would love to see you again, what do you think?
Come on! I love it!
Of course, you would use this phrase
assuming that you got, you know,
like a nice rapport from using the previous ones.
And hopefully, when you ask that person:
Me encantaría verte de nuevo. ¿Qué opinas?
That lovely person is going to say:
A mí también.
Learn: Me encantaría.
I would love to.
Because you can use it in other phrases,
like, for example:
Me encantaría ir al cine.
¿Quieres una cerveza?
Would you like a beer?
Me encantaría.
Like, right now!
¡Muy bien!
So, now you know 5 phrases
that are going to help you sound
charming and classy
when you are speaking to that
Spanish speaker of your dreams.
And, if things go well,
well, perhaps you are going to need
to improve your Spanish, you know, in general.
