well what's going on guys Nathan with
technology smash back with another video
and today I have something that a bunch
of you have requested actually so it's
the brand new Fitbit charge 3 this will
be my usual video that I do with these
so it'll be the full unboxing but mainly
the setup so I've noticed especially
around Christmas time holiday time when
people get these type of things that my
imbue ership for this kind of stuff
spike so it tells me that people use
these videos for their setup so I don't
really do reviews and things on these
I'll tell you guys how much I like them
and stuff but people people seem to use
these to actually set up their devices
if they're having issues so that's what
we're gonna do today but we'll also take
a look around at what you get and my
normal type of unboxing experience too
so a couple updates so I did get an
iPhone 10s so that's what I'm using
right now so that's what we'll be
setting it up as but it should be pretty
good see the face unlock flashing
that'll be pretty standard across most
phones even for Android phones it should
be pretty similar so let's get into this
so first thing I noticed right off the
bat is the box is very very light
compared to other Fitbit so I still do
wear my ionic pretty much daily actually
I do wear it every single day this is
very very light the Box feels like
almost nothing is in here so I hope
something is in here so normal kind of
stats and specs on the side here you can
see swim proof so that's pretty cool
24/7 heartrate multi exercise modes apps
and notifications battery life for up to
7 days so that's really cool that's
that's very very high for battery life
or something like this so with my ionic
on a trip this past weekend and it
lasted all the way through for the four
full days and I still had like 40% when
I got home really cool seeing everybody
charge their Apple watch every night so
just some more stuff around back in the
side there's not really much it does now
they all include small and large
wristbands you can see they used to have
different sizes you could buy but when
you see when you actually go to get them
says it right there on the package so
just like usual for these we're just
gonna grab
the little tab that they have we're
gonna pull it this is different than
usual usually okay so then that just
flakes open everything on Fitbit stuff
is cool because it has a little logo
where it's kind of like pull here or
grab this it's kind of how they position
that so this is what the presentation
looks like when you open it which is
pretty nice the same thing that Fitbit
logos they're gonna set that off to the
side see what else is in here so to
start down the Fitbit app we already
have that all downloaded obviously
because I use my Fitbit all the time
here is part of one of the larger
wristbands I'm guessing and then you're
gonna have your charger so let's see
what kind of charger it is for this time
and then some guides and stuff like that
that we don't care about because I'm
gonna show you how to do it so it's
another one of these like clam or
however you want to say it like pinch
style cords that will sort of go around
the back of the device so it kind of
does this thing but we'll clip it on in
a minute to see so here we pull this to
go all the way around so these are a lot
more skinny and they're more for to me
they're more for targeted towards women
I would say but it doesn't matter I've
worn these kind and they're super
comfortable they're very light but
they're less watch looking and more of
like a skinny bracelet is is the main
difference I don't see a button anywhere
I don't know if this has a button on it
which is kind of strange we might have
to look at that guide so again the
normal things is they usually have this
little clasp that holds down the
connection which is awesome I love this
this little tooth hook type thing here
so that it can not move really like that
it's got like a diamond pattern to it
you can see that pretty good it's kind
of dark in here compared to usual
there is no button on here how strange
is that what am i interesting I might
have to connect it to my laptop that's
over here running my that's running my
microphone let's do that just to see
someone to go ahead and plug this in
just just for a second
so I would recommend you do that I guess
I don't know how so I'm gonna get this
to turn on there is not an actual button
on the FET which is so strange to me so
let me plug this in and see if I can
just kick it on ok just vibrated when I
connected it so that's good okay we'll
get it kicked on here so it gives you a
little smiley face and now it does the
usual so Fitbit slash setup but it's
gonna lead you to take care of the app
portion so we're gonna get into that now
let's see so we're gonna go Fitbit
I'm not gonna take off my old one here
but we can set up as new trying to keep
the brightness at normal amount so you
guys can see them iPhone keep
self-adjusting even though I don't have
that turned on so what you're gonna do
is you're gonna go in as if you're
setting up something new you can go
under your profile here so in the top
right corner even if you don't have one
set up you just touch in the top right
corner here that's not what I meant to
touch top right where that little card
is where it has your profile information
and stuff and then you're gonna go here
set up a device so usually what they do
with this stuff is they have them in
order of their newer things so as you
can see some of the stuff down here that
we've never looked at like the ACE for
kids I'd like to do that at some point
Ulta HR charge to ionic charge 3 and
verso so you can see they're more newer
devices are up higher even though the
ACE for kids is new it's down lower but
it's kind of how they do it it seems so
we're gonna hit charge 3 and it's gonna
say advanced fitness tracker so we're
gonna hit setup you need to scroll all
the way down and agree to their terms
and conditions so it's going to show you
how to charge so I'll pull this off so I
can show you guys because I was going to
second ago so it has these two little
pins on the inside right here and what
it does is it go
around back and it clips on pretty
securely this one actually slides around
a little bit so it kind of does that and
then you have that plug-in not the
biggest fan of their chargers for that I
like my eye on it because it just snaps
on the back at with the magnet but it is
what it is sort of a proprietary thing
probably for them so it's showing you
how to charge it and we're gonna hit
next searching for the charge so this is
where it's going to try to find it it
found it and now it vibrates to let you
know so you see it will pop up a number
and then it wants you to place that
number in so it compared properly so one
one seven nine and you'll see they'll
take place with each other and they'll
start to connect so usually the only
thing with these Fitbit so that is a bit
of a weight is when you're doing this
setup process it's going to take quite a
while so you'll notice and there was a
vibration there saying it connected I'll
show you that connection in a minute
keep your tracker close to your mobile
device during the update so we're gonna
have to do this update usually it asks
you to connect to your Wi-Fi so I don't
know if this one has Wi-Fi built-in and
when I say usually I'll see here we go
again plug in your device and make sure
it's at 50% so we're gonna need to plug
this in for it to work I don't remember
of it I don't remember most of or any of
the fitbit's really doing that the pass
but back to the Wi-Fi think I don't know
if they I think that only the the new or
more recent ones the more expensive ones
have Wi-Fi built in so we're gonna
connect that and hit try again and see
what happens okay so you can see in the
top here it's got low battery so we're
gonna have to wait
apparently because you can see it starts
right there
4% and then it hits me with the low
battery so we're gonna have to wait
until this is charged apparently so this
could be one of those things that you
run into that hopefully my video might
help with ensure the battery is 50% I
know it says right here but sometimes
people get frustrated and don't sort of
check right away so we're gonna go ahead
and let this charge for a minute get up
to 50% and then we will check back in
I'm gonna do it after this update
actually takes place so that we don't
- you know stop again so see you in just
a second all right so just finishing up
here what you're gonna see man I cannot
get this to stay where I want it Kenny
all right what you're gonna see is that
once the percentage is a hundred it's
gonna show installing and you put you're
also gonna see on your actual charge is
a loading bar so you can see mine is
almost to the end here just about loaded
up so we're gonna see take a look around
after it pops up here and kind of see
what the finish installing screens look
like one thing that I did find to be
true if you're questioning it because
it's giving me problems in the past
before you can see down at the bottom
feel free to use your phone during this
update that is true it did keep updating
even though I was using my phone so no
issue with that whatsoever
it's a deal with that for my iPhone ever
done Do Not Disturb but I can still get
notifications why so just waiting on
this forever process there you go so you
get the green or the white checkmark and
now you have the screen so this does not
have a button like I said and I'm pretty
sure the last version did you can
correct me if I'm wrong that's to grab
the charger I believe better but we'll
take a quick look around here so it's
got a good nice low profile to the wrist
so you can see it actually sits lower
than my charge or sorry than my ionic
would nice and curved to the wrist it
fits like a glove right against your
skin very lightweight I was messing with
it as it was updating definitely looks
nice too in this black color they have
several different colors like always but
let's take a quick look around so we're
gonna check on here this still says
installing which is funny there it goes
so you're charged three is ready so at
the bottom here you'll get a continue
bar that wasn't out there before so just
like usual try it on
what you want to do is have it a finger
width in between your wrist
your hand so that it can accurately do
heart rate so it's the moment you've
been waiting for blah blah blah
swipe up for stats so we're gonna follow
along with this a little bit
it's like tap it so I swipe up and it'll
give you your daily stuff just like the
ionic does so just like here you can
swipe up and you get your today screen
with all your stuff in there so that
what's interesting is I think and let's
let's double check here this might
already have my stats for today it does
so it has my steps even though this is
brand new and I'm just using it for the
first time so you can swipe up for your
stats that'll give you like a daily
overview of what's going on press the
back button press the button to go back
to go back press the button on the left
side of your tracker that is a button
okay so this is pretty cool this is a
button that's not a button okay or is it
not
nothing happens when I touch the side is
that old softwood press the button to go
back it says that's a button let me try
to do this behind the camera to see if
it works oh it is okay so when you put
you have to give it some force but when
you push it it actually responds and it
vibrates so there's nothing actually
there to get damaged or wear down over
time it feels it bite by touch and by
pressure that's really cool cool okay
awesome so press the button to go back
we're gonna hit next and again my
brightness unbelievable
swipe down for notifications so it's
gonna nothing here yet so you can swipe
down to get your notifications just like
so these have a lot more functionality
in the software now built in that like
the ionic and things have and that's
great
I really like the way this these
commands are set up on here change
settings quickly press and hold the left
button to access your quick settings so
again we'll press and push in and there
it goes it gives an extra vibrate so you
have a screen wake button you can turn
that on and off turn on and off
notifications and that's pretty much it
in there
Fitbit doesn't have a ton of stuff in
there settings and you can even kind of
see that on on other stuff and there
it's still so janky and laggy so if you
go into normal stuff for your settings
there's not a whole lot in there that's
about it it's just always kind of been
that way so we're gonna hit next and see
what else so I've left to see your apps
there are two apps per screen so if
we're on this front screen here and you
swipe over yep okay so that's what it's
saying so the top and bottom so exercise
and relax just like usual
so the relax has a two-minute breathing
exercise exercise has run bike swim
treadmill interval timer workout so you
can actually edit shortcuts in the
Fitbit app we'll show you that in a
second
these are cool they have little
animation you can see that happens with
each one I really like
little touches like that super nice
swipe up for each of these I want to see
what they do okay so it'll give you some
extra options depending on what's going
on press set to go back kay over we have
timers and alarms which are
self-explanatory whether in the settings
which settings are probably so we have a
brightness setting vibration setting
heart rate notifications during sleep
and about which is where you're going to
go to reset and do other things like
that so I'll show you in the app where
to add different presets this is one of
my we'll go through this all the way
real quick cleaning care tips so clean
your band regularly obviously if it gets
wet remove it and dry it take your
device off from time to time
Fitbit had a problem I've mentioned this
in a few of my videos a long time ago
where people are getting weird rashes
and things under their bands so just
take your take your Fitbit off every now
excuse me every now and again and clean
it if it's wet from being sweaty or
anything like that just take it off and
and you know wash it up and dry it off
it's if something's wet that close to
your skin it's not going to just dry
itself so all sets now get moving and
make every moment count
learn about charge or just hit done so
I'm gonna show you where you can edit
those presets you can go into I think
you have to go into the actual so this
is gonna be the same even though it's my
ionic so in your top left corner you'll
see a picture of your device you touch
it and then you scroll down and you have
exercise shortcuts so you can add and
subtract you can only add that many so
one two three four five six seven at a
time if you try to add one and you have
seven it's grayed out so what you
actually have to do is swipe one away
delete it and then you can add them so
there's a ton in here but you can't have
more than seven kind of annoying that
you also have to go and resync the whole
thing just to get that done but yeah
that's I mean that's pretty much it and
then we can actually will actually take
a look at the band here too you just
press that in and it pops right off
again very proprietary this is something
they made for themselves so it's not
going to be like a watchband
but that actually comes on enough really
easy compared to my ionic that's great
yeah that'll do but yeah and then
there's there's some different phases so
we'll take a look at that and we'll be
will be pretty much all set that's your
you know that's your setup for this
let's see if we go straight into it's
it's strange because I've never actually
had to setup at the same time like this
so connected so you can do that so yeah
now I'm super dark this iPhone man okay
so you can see I have my two different
ones there so if I go into charge you
can go to clock faces directly pick a
new clock face those are the ones on
here it doesn't show that there's like a
marketplace like my ionic has so if you
look on the ionic it's got a full like
suite of different faces so if you go
into there there's all clocks which I
was already under this has like a full
marketplace the charge did not have that
so you hit watch faces all clocks and
you have these so what you do is you
touch a new one select it you'll see
this I've complained about this in the
past that's pretty fast compared to
usual even though it's stopped while I
was talking about it you'll get a
vibration with a check mark and boom
there's the new one so you guys have any
questions feel free to ask but so far
it's looking like it's gonna be another
win for Fitbit I know people really like
these I see them all the time Apple
watches are obviously getting really
popular as well and they have been for a
long time especially with the new series
fork but fitbit's is something that I
wear so and I know a lot of you do too
because you've been asking for this and
here you go so if you have any questions
feel free to leave them down below
otherwise I will talk to you guys next
time and feel free to like and subscribe
see you later
