got a French door refrigerator not
making ice first thing we're gonna do is
we're gonna check air codes hit these
two left buttons on the display you'll
see three two one you will go all the
way down or you hit down till you get to
test fifty-six this will give you an
error code or this is the air code for
the ice maker this e 2 is the lost motor
position so now we're gonna go to test
59
we're gonna hit select zone and this is
moving clockwise I think and you can
actually hear this motor turn this is
just verifying that e 2 air code so test
59 just moves that motor and what it's
doing is it's turning around to find the
home position and if you'll hit the
buttons more it'll go from clockwise to
counterclockwise and so on and so forth
what we're looking for
whenever this is finished finishing its
test is we're looking for a zero one or
a zero two zero one is the motor has
found its home position in a zero two as
the motor didn't find its home position
so if you see zero one test passed if
you see a zero two test failed so let's
see what we get
and this will take a little bit of time
I want to say this test lasts 70 seconds
all right zero one so that test passed
we're gonna do it again
by the way if you need the the text
sheet on this it is located under the
hinge cap on the right-hand door so if
you take off that hinge cap you will
find the text sheet and it will give you
some information well the stuff I'm
telling you now you'll find that
information in the tech see and I'll
actually show you here in a second while
we're doing this test this is the hinge
cap and right under that hinge cap you
will find the text sheet laying
underneath it just like that so it's a
Phillips head screwdriver you get that
one screw out boom there's your tech
sheet anyways back to the test zero two
so it failed I believe in the clock wise
test but it passed in the
counterclockwise test so what that means
is you have a bad ice maker and we're
gonna go ahead and swap this ice maker
out today you've got to take off this
first panel on the right hand side you
need a quarter inch screw driver or
Schouler inch nut and it fits really
well then some nut drivers are too thick
and they won't fit in the hole so that
won't work for you I use my little sock
cent here where the quarter-inch and it
works perfectly get those two screws out
then we can get this panel off out of
the way you want to pry it down and pull
I mean it's just in some clips sometimes
they break sometimes they don't it's
okay if they break it's not a big deal
get those clips down then you'll have
the wire harness for the light you take
that off and then the panel comes right
out
next we're gonna work on this icemaker
fascia you just get a screwdriver and
you pry it out of the way
bring her down and then you disconnect
the heater harness right there we're
gonna work on the water line next so you
take off this cover and it's just held
in by clip so you just get your
screwdriver pry it out of the way and
then boom comes off take off the water
line then we got some harnesses to take
care of three of them I will have this
icemaker linked below in this
description by the way so if you guys
need the icemaker go ahead and pick that
up
but yeah we've got a screw there on the
front left and then front right so
whenever you get this ice maker or you
get these screws out you just pull the
icemaker housing and she should drop
free for you you'll see that here in a
second but yeah not a bad job alright so
you just pull nice maker comes out set
the icemaker on the counter and we got
four Scruton out five one two five
screws and this here you got to use the
socket to get down in that hall and this
barely fits - by the way if you so you
can just pry that thing down in there
and it should get those screws out for
you but you got those three there and
then there's two more near the front of
the icemaker housing but yeah we're
getting these rest of these screws out
and then we're gonna get that panel off
and that will expose the icemaker but
before you get the panel all the way off
we do got to get those wires out of its
channel there so you'll remove that blue
tape and then take out the wiring
you just get the wiring out just like
this and then once you get it free you
can lift up that panel and push the wire
for the icemaker through the hole like
you'll lift it up and push that down
just like that and you can get that
panel off you'll have to feed that
icemaker wire now now there's not much
to getting this icemaker out you just
got these wire harnesses to disconnect
like the white harness is connected to
the icemaker
so that goes with the icemaker but the
other one you disconnect off of the
icemaker and it stays on the housing so
you take that off and that icemaker just
comes right up that's it
then you'll grab your new icemaker and
you'll drop it in the spot I mean that's
all it is I mean there's nothing holding
that icemaker in so once you get the
wire harnesses disconnected you pull
that sucker out then you dropped a new
one in in its spot nothing to it guys
so again if you need that icemaker I
will have it link below so make sure you
go ahead and pick that up if you need it
but yeah get the icemaker back in hook
the harnesses back on you get it back in
its spot then we're gonna put the cover
back on
you got to route the wire for the wire
or for the icemaker through that hole in
that panel so make sure you guys do that
yeah or else it won't fit properly but
you guys will figure that out even if
you don't watch this but you know wrap
that thing through put it in the front
first as you got that little clip then
everything's mounted with the screws on
the back
of it so yeah get those screws back in
put the harnesses back on or through
that little channel there and then you
put everything else back together yeah
so I'm gonna let y'all watch putting
this thing back together and then near
the end whenever we test it I'll jump
back in
you
[Music]
all right she is back together so we're
gonna get back in to Diagnostics here
hold those two left buttons go to test
59 and we are going to make sure that
this ice maker is gonna find its home
position so we remember a past test is
0-1 a failed test is 0-2 so test 59 you
can do all test or whichever one that
failed for you whether it's clockwise or
counterclockwise or if you if you're a
doubt just do them all and make sure
that the zero one is what you get that's
a past test oh and by the way guys this
will work on whirlpool KitchenAid in
jenn-air refrigerators as long as they
work sim or look similar with the same
type of ice maker
and I believe they use the same ice
maker in both units but yeah we're
getting close to the end of this test
and you'll see we'll get a zero one boom
right there so now we're gonna go to
test 45 and this wants to get to their
zero to hit select zone she's going
apart you can stick your fingers in
there and make sure it does but you can
hear it come in so as soon as you hear
that boom you just got to wait for her
that's all you gotta do sometimes you do
got to wait 24 hours yeah these things
are a little finicky it may take some
time for it to make ice but showing you
guys a game here
kind of feel this program make sure you
guys do this we're gonna check around
for it to make up so you have to fill
that thing up and then that's it you're
done so if this helped you out give me a
like subscribe thanks for watching
