What's up guys, BucklingOne here and welcome to my 14th Battlefield Hardline Weapon Guide!
Today we'll be taking a look at another DLC weapon, the FAL Battle Rifle, which is my
favourite weapon to use in Battlefield Hardline right now. It is available for the Criminals
and costs $72,000 to buy, provided you have the Criminal Activity DLC.
The FAL or is known in real life as the Fusil Automatique Lger and is designed and manufactured
by the Belgian arms manufacturer Fabrique Nationale de Herstal (FN) and was first
protyped and manufactured in 1946. It is one of the most widely used rifles in history,
having been used by more than 90 countries and is currently in service in the Belgian,
Portugese and Dutch armies, among others. The Irish Defence Forces also used the FAL
until 1989 and have re-adopted it as a sniper support weapon. Because of it's widespread
popularity, the FAL has been described as the "Right Arm
of the Free World."
The max damage for the FAL is 43, which drops off to a minimum of 25 after 60 metres, meaning
you will need a minimum of 3 bullets to kill up close and up to 4 bullets to kill at range.
Rate of Fire is among the highest in it's class, coming in at 700 RPM. This easily beats
the other Battle Rifles such as the HCAR and the HK51, with 450 and 500 RPM respectively.
Reloading the FAL takes 1.8s with a bullet left in the chamber, and when the magazine
is empty it will take 2.5s for a full reload.
Recoil is quite heavy on the FAL, with a tendency to kick up quite hard and also almost equally
from right to left. You will need good control with your trigger finger to control it well.
The first shot multiplier on the FAL is 1.2.
For attachments, I run the FAL exactly the same as I do with the SG510. I recommend using
the ACOG scope on the FAL. The reason for this is that I like to use the rifle in a
semi auto firing configuration, and when using this setup I like to keep my enemies at mid
range for most of my encounters, playing a support role where I can pick off enemies
from a reasonable distance but also have enought
stopping power if I need to engage enemies up close. For the Accessory I have Tracer
Rounds equipped as they are Armour Piercing and help
when shooting enemies with Armored Insert equipped, as well as doing extra damage to
vehicles as well. On the Muzzle I have the Heavy Barrel equipped, which grants better
accuracy and reduces recoil as well, something that
is very useful when picking off enemies further away. Lastly, for a grip I use the Stubby
Grip which provides a bonus to accuracy again. Similiarly to my SG510 loadout, this FAL loadout
puts a heavy emphasis on accuracy and is intended for use at medium to long ranges.
Overall, I absolutely love the FAL. As I said earlier, it is probably my favourite weapon
in the game right now. It's very good at medium distances and can even fare well at
long distances too. It's great fun to use as well and is super accurate, and can even
hold its own when up close as well, provided you have a fast enough trigger finger if using
the rifle in semi auto like I am. I also enjoy
the challenge of using a semi-auto weapon, I think it takes a lot of skill to be consistent
with it and also adds a fun challenge when I'm
playing, which I really do enjoy. For all these reason I give the FAL an extremely well
deserved 5 stars. If I could give it 6 stars I would, it's just that good!
What do you guys think of the FAL? Have you used it so far and have you liked it or do
you think it's not that great? Let me know in the comments section below.
