How to unlock excel file from read only 2010

00:06software expert and today I'm going to

00:08show you how to convert a read-only file

00:10into a file you can write over in

00:12Microsoft Excel

00:14now the spreadsheet I have open doesn't

00:17necessarily look read-only unless you

00:19look at the top it says invoice xlsx and

00:23then it says read-only if I try to save

00:30it's going to tell me that it says it

00:34can't save it because the file is

00:36read-only so let's go take care of that

00:39I'm going to click OK and then I'm just

00:45going to press escape to get out of the

00:47save as dialog box I'm going to close

00:51this file for right now and come over to

00:56Windows and browse to where the file

00:59exists here it is invoice XLS X I'm

01:04going to right click on it and go down

01:08to properties and in here

01:13it has an attribute on the general tab

01:15of read-only so I'm going to click that

01:17checkbox to uncheck it and click OK now

01:24I'm going to double click invoice xlsx

01:27to open it up and this time it opens up

01:31and does not say read-only at the top

01:34and if I click Save I don't get an error
