everyone this is a warning to those who
own a trailer with electric brakes we
just lost our brakes when we're in the
mountains of West Virginia due to due to
this this is the wire that runs through
the axle to power the brakes on the
other side and we have frayed wire here
here and here and over here as well this
wire is just worn just because it sits
in the bottom of the axle and rubs
around and the insulation just wears off
this is a terrible practice that
manufactures for some reason love to do
it only lasts a few years before you get
this problem so manufacturers please
quit putting wire through the axle it's
a terrible practice we need to be
putting it on the outside if you do put
it on the inside it needs to be secured
somehow just a quick warning if you got
a new trailer that hasn't had this
problem yet clip your wires pull them to
the outside strap them to the outside of
the axle put something over it to
protect it and you won't have this
problem you really don't want to be
losing your brakes in the mountains when
you got a heavy load hope that helps you
out and be safe out there
