today we'll be comparing these battery
powered wi-fi cameras we have the
reeling duo battery version uv solo cam
s40 ring stick up cam arlo ultra nest
cam battery yscam outdoor version 2 and
the blink outdoor
which one will be the best battery
powered wireless wi-fi security camera
of 2022 and there is one that's going to
be a fail which one are they let's find
out hello guys live hackster here today
we will compare battery powered outdoor
wi-fi security cameras from popular
brands and see which will be the best
wireless outdoor wi-fi camera of 2022. i
have done individual reviews of these
cameras and i will link some of them in
the description down below
these are the higher end models or the
latest models from some brands and with
others this is the only outdoor battery
camera that they offer
now i will grade them on different
essential features that a security
camera should have from one to five and
five is the highest this is something
that i don't do normally but just for
fun and the features are video quality
which i'll separate daytime from night
time quality motion alert notification
speed detection distance which will also
include how fast they will start to
record when motion is going towards the
camera i'll also talk about
responsiveness and overall user
experience when using their apps we'll
also compare the camera's audio quality
and a biggie is the video storage
options and if monthly subscription is
required so full five points for free
local storage and zero if the
subscription is a must
lastly we will compare the price i will
also add a pointer too if the camera has
extra features like spotlights and siren
as to battery life this is the one that
i would not be able to rank this is hard
to measure because this will really
depend on the amount of traffic and
activations on where you're putting the
camera
average battery life that would
generally be around two to three months
except for a couple of cameras first uv
solo cam s40 a solar panel is already
integrated with the camera body itself
so if you're placing this to where the
sun will shine on top of it you will
have forever power i had this camera for
nearly a year now and the battery is
mostly at 100
the other exception is the blink it uses
disposable double-a lithiums and
together with battery saving features
and warnings on the app it will usually
last longer even up to a year before the
batteries needs to be replaced before we
start if you find this video helpful
don't forget to give it a thumbs up and
subscribe to my channel if you haven't
done it yet thank you and i appreciate
it so let's start with video quality
video quality of the realink dual
battery and this is at 10 feet
relink duo has two camera lenses and i
do have to merge the two footages in
post and it records in 2k quality 2560
by 1440 pixel resolution at 15 frames
per second
and we will look at the zoomed in
snapshot at 30 feet and here is the
zoomed in snapshot when the subject is
running at around 20 feet
so this is the video quality of the uv
solo cam s40 and this is 10 feet next is
the uv solo cam s42k quality also but
only 2304 by 1296 pixel resolution
footage is decent and this is how it
looks like on the moving snapshot and
recording in 15 frames per second
this is the video quality of the ring
stick up cam and the video test
next is the ring stick up cam still
recording in 1080p resolution at 24
frames per second and video quality is
not the forte of ring and it shows this
is what it looks like on the running
snapshot
this is the video quality of the arlo
ultra and this is at 10p
next is the arlo ultra and this is
recording in 4k resolution 3840 by 2160
at 24 frames per second but because it
needs to upload to the cloud arlu uses
high compression making the footage not
as sharp as it should be i've set this a
155 degree diagonal field of view which
contributes to the softness of the image
at longer distances
next is the google nest cam battery also
recording only in 1080p but at 30 frames
per second
hdr works pretty good on both nest and
are low and for a 1080p i think nest has
pretty good video quality
this is how it looks like on the running
snapshot okay now the yscam outdoor and
this is the version 2 which it did have
issues when i initially reviewed it a
while back and it seems like there is
still some issues and it just might be
the camera that i got i have the campus
subscription which it uploads the
footage to the cloud and when i try to
view the recorded footage minutes and
even five and a half hours later i'm not
able to view or download the footage it
will show the clip length but you will
only have the snapshot and this with
updated firmware so i decided to just
remove it from testing i did check the
next day though and it finally became
viewable but it is just too late to not
have access to your recordings until a
day later my yscam v3 also with kanpla
subscription has no issues this one scam
outdoor is just buggy
this is the inviting quality of the
blink of 4 and clarity
lastly we'll take a look at the blink
outdoors still recording in 1080p but
also at 30 frames per second at the
highest quality setting and also the
narrowest field of view of all the
cameras
pretty blurry at 30 feet and this is the
running
snapshot let's go to night time now the
relink duo uvs40 and the ardo ultra have
built in spotlights they will already
have the advantage and will get an extra
point for having built-in spotlights and
can record in full color at night
reeling duo has six total spotlights
reeling though tend to lower its frame
rate at night recording but still pretty
good quality
the uv s40 has a ring light which also
lights up the area being monitored and
it also does a pretty good job the arlo
ultra has a small spotlight and as you
can see even in 4k resolution the
footage is soft and doesn't look 4k
quality at all as to the traditional
black and white infrared night vision we
have the reeling duo and you probably
will set color recording on this camera
with spotlights on but it's good that
you have an option for infrared night
vision
same thing with the uv solo cam s40 it
does a pretty good job too in black and
white night vision
ring has a pretty unique feature if you
turn on color night vision dark areas in
the footage will be black and white but
any areas that have some lighting will
have some color on it as to the arlo
footage it is just okay in infrared
night vision it is on the darker side
nest has a decent infrared night vision
too and it lowers down the frame rate to
15 fps
while the blink which also only records
in 15 fps is on the softer side and not
as detailed like the other cameras now
time to grade them data and quality it
is definitely real link and it gets 5
points followed by yuffie 4 and nest 3
are low 2 and ring 1 point and last
would be the blink with no point as to
night time the first three will be the
one with the spotlights we have the real
link for five uv four points arlo three
followed by nest two ring one point and
blink zero again
on motion alert notification speed i
will include rich notifications on this
one also i have to test the cameras
individually to minimize interference
the delay in the nest is more of the
camera detecting me late and i had this
issue also when i initially reviewed it
we have the blink first for five ring
second for four points arlo third for
three points uv fourth for two real link
fifth for one point at nest last for
zero point yuffie ring arlo and nest
have rich notifications or snapchat
previews and they will have additional 2
points each
blink and real link doesn't have rich
notifications as to max detection
distance testing all cameras except for
the blink are set to maximum sensitivity
on their pir sensor and set to human
detection only blink doesn't have any
type of ai detection and this is the
only camera that doesn't have it i'll
add additional two points on all the
cameras except for blink
and also i have to set the sensitivity
to level 6 because more than that i'll
get false motion alerts arlo was able to
detect me at 40 feet so 5 points real
link at 35 feet 4 points yuffie and ness
detected me at 30 feet so 3 points each
ring at 25 feet 2 points and blink only
15 feet so 1 point
i'll add bonus points if the camera is
able to record when motion is going
towards the camera real link barely so 1
point uv also barely 1 point ring did a
pretty good job of recording early so
two points are low same as uv and real
link so one point while the nest tested
it three times and it failed to detect
me all three times so zero for nest has
to blink barely also so one point as to
app use and overall experience i'll give
this one to ring five points it has a
pretty user friendly app and the
integration among its products is the
best that i've tested so far i'll follow
this with yuffie for second four points
yuffie just need to integrate their
products within the app and you might be
surprised that they'll give arlo the
third place for three points they have
made improvements especially on the
responsiveness of the app as compared
before and real link fourth for two
points which i like that there are a lot
of settings that you can tweak but it
does need some learning curve and they
still don't have rich notifications
which is mainly why it is fourth
then nest for one point and this is
mostly because their cameras doesn't use
the older nest app and they force you to
use the google home app which is not
really user friendly to use
last for no point i'll give it to blink
outdated user interface and there is
some delay watching live view and the
app responsiveness is slow let's listen
now to the camera speaker's quality
this is the audio quality coming up from
uv's solo cam s40
this is the audio quality coming out
from rings stick up gap
this is the audio quality coming up from
nest cam battery
this is the audio quality coming out
from blink outdoor
i'll give all of them one point for
having two-way talk real link yuffie
ring and arlo have sirens so i'll give
them additional one point all of these
cameras can be hooked up to their
compatible solar panels for continuous
power but for the s40 having an
integrated solar panel giving it a
smaller footprint and cleaner looking
install i'll give it an extra 3 points
now as to storage full 5 points goes to
uv and real link because they have local
storage and no subscription needed the
rest will be zero due to needing monthly
subscription to get recordings and use
all other features
except for nest though because it offers
at least three hours of free event
recording so i'll give it three points
now let's talk about price you probably
already know which one is expensive the
arlo ultra is 300 bucks and i think it
is mostly because of this 4k quality
which you have seen it doesn't deliver
this is a very overpriced camera so i'll
give it zero point for its price
next will be both uv solar cam s40 and
relink dual battery with solar panel
both are priced at 200 bucks these
cameras delivered though as you have
seen how it performed i'll give both of
them four points
next will be the nest cam battery at 180
dollars remember though aside from how
it performed it also doesn't have a
spotlight or a siren i'll give it two
points the ring stick cam and the blink
outdoor with sync module are priced at
100 bucks and the ring stick up cam is
definitely the winner here for price to
features i'll give it 5 points and the
blink no ai and outdated interface but
when it goes on sale it gets pretty
affordable so i'll give it three points
so telling them up you already know
which one is the best outdoor wireless
wi-fi security camera for 2022 the ufe
solo cam s40 the integrated solar panels
set it apart but it also did well on all
of its other features well that's it for
this video thanks for watching and see
you in the next one
