alright guys Nick here and welcome back
to a video that I wouldn't really expect
to be making for an automotive channel
but with the whole coronavirus and being
inside more I figured now would be a
great time to do it since we're all
stuck inside so today I'm gonna make a
video showing you how to do actually two
different things while doing the same
method the first is to remove deunov a
DMM that's not a DMR DMR DRM something
like that from Apple music and convert
Apple music which is a protected audio
file to a plain mp3 that can be
transferred across older devices
especially such as iPod nanos classics
or even burnt to CDs and the second way
is how to get audio clear audio from
things like YouTube videos and other
online sources without having to record
it with a microphone coming out of
speakers because that's not very high
quality and that could be getting sound
effects or anything like that now I'm
going to start with the Apple music
portion of the video and the method is
almost the same for getting YouTube
sounds or anything like that so just
take around for that okay so the first
thing you're going to need to do is
install an application called audacity
it is free and open source in this video
I'm going to specifically show you how
to do it on a Mac but it should be
similar for Windows
alright so the audacity is the first
program you're going to need the second
program is called EQ Mac and it's
basically an equalizer for Mac and it's
also free you can download it I'll leave
links to both apps in the description
and it's basically just so you can
adjust your audio and things like that
and besides for the purposes of this
video it is actually a really neat
application to have very useful you can
make speakers that aren't super great
sound like they're much better things
like that increased bass everything like
that so with the new file in audacity
open you're going to want to go to your
iTunes library and just select the song
that you are wanting to convert now
reasons to do this
not promoting pirating music or anything
like that it's for personal use if
you're in a similar situation I'm in
where you're paying for Apple music but
you're not able to play it in certain
things like older devices if you have an
older car that doesn't support Apple
music and you want to put it on a CD and
like I said you're already paying for
Apple music you just want to be able to
listen to it on other devices so you're
gonna open your audacity window here and
you're going to select before the
microphone section here EQ Mac and
you're also going to want to make sure
it's open and make sure that sounds are
coming through it and working properly
everything like that so you're gonna hit
the recording button and make sure you
have your song selected you're gonna hit
the record button as well as the play
button you're gonna one time that you
know correctly and you can always go
back in here and trim off that beginning
portion and make sure it's time
correctly everything like that so
basically this is the drawback you're
going to have to sit here and wait for
the song to play which this is exactly
what software that costs forty dollars
does except the only advantage of
software has is they play it really fast
so you can do a whole album in a minute
or two something like that I don't know
what their exact times are however that
doesn't even work on newer Macs that
have higher security standards and
you're going to have to go into terminal
in your utilities in the recovery mode
and disable certain security features
which is not recommended at all this
works no matter what version you use
except I'm not sure if audacity is
supported in Catalina or not so you're
gonna want to double check that so
you're gonna sit here you're gonna play
your song all the way through and then
when the song ends you're gonna pause
the song and hit stop
then once the song is finished you can
go back you can trim everything here
make sure it's all done correctly then
you're going to go to file at the top go
to export and export as mp3 here you can
give it a name
save it to wherever you want to it saved
one of the great things about this
software is the second you hit save it
brings up this little window here where
you can edit all the metadata tags and
so when you put it into if you put it
into iTunes or any other media player it
will show up just as it would a normal
song it'll have the artists name the
track title the album title the track
number the year so everything will be
set up properly so you can go here you
can enter everything here and then you
hit OK and it will export when you hit
go to close this you can do one of two
things you can either save the file and
that would be if you want to come back
here and maybe re export it maybe as a
different file type you can do two other
ones or just different all different
types at once
anything like that so if you would do
that if you want to save it as a
different file type or maybe if you
would want to come back in the future
and edit it for any reason but otherwise
if you have your file and you're happy
you just hit no and it closes it doesn't
save it and you have your file right on
your desktop and it's playable it'll
open iTunes you can play right there
like that it works you can put it on
anything it's not protected and yeah
that's how you do it all right and for
the next portion of the video which
would be getting audio from online
sources it works pretty much the exact
same way so you want to go to youtube
and get a sound effect you can find the
video that you're looking for
and you're going to find the video you
want so say you want that sound effect
you're going to start the video over
you're going to have your new file open
you're going to hit record then you're
going to go back to this play the sound
and then you're going to reopen your
audacity file you're going to stop the
recording and you're going to find where
it it the where the audio is and you can
trim afterward you can trim before it
and then there it is you can hit play
it's the file then just as before you go
to file export export as mp3 and you can
call it what you want you can save it
now you're not going to need to fill
anything in here because it's not a song
it's just a sound effect so you can just
leave it blank and hit OK don't need to
save this it's already edited and right
on your desktop you have TV static which
you are able to use in any video or
application that you would need this
sound
so there you go guys that is how to
record sounds and make them into plain
mp3 files that you can use from the
Internet Apple music Spotify whatever
you want it'll all work the same you
just play your file and record it
through audacity as if you're recording
from a microphone and it will pick up
that audio file there will not be any
distortion anything like that and if you
have any questions or comments let me
know down below and if you were able to
use this video to help you please give
it a like it'll help a lot and if you
haven't seen my channel before subscribe
so I can help you again in the future so
thanks for watching guys and have a
great day
