what's going on guys i'm bill and
welcome to bills how to today i'm going
to be showing you guys how to remove
a door handle when you don't have any
visible screws let's get straight into
it guys
let's do this all right guys so this
here is the door handle that we're going
to be working on and as you can tell
there are no visible screws
on both sides so that means that there's
a little trick that you guys need to
know in order to remove
this door handle right here so that we
can replace it with a new one
now our little button here is missing
and that's a reason why we're replacing
it
now the little trick all has to do with
this little hole right here
if i try and zoom in and get a good
angle for you guys
you can see there right in that hole as
i turn the knob
there is actually a little pin inside so
at the moment you can't see that pin
i'll turn it back over and you can see
there's a little pin inside
now what that pin is going to do is it's
going to release this doorknob right
here
so all you need is just a very small
flathead screwdriver
or anything pretty small enough just to
get in that hole
and you simply need to press in and pull
out at the same time now i am doing this
with one hand so it's going to be a
little bit more difficult for me
and there we have it so if i can do it
with one hand guys you guys can do it as
well so now that we've got that one
there off
now we can remove this little cover
right here and the way we remove this
cover if we have a look around the edges
you'll see there's always a little tab
so right there there's a little section
where you can get your flooded
screwdriver in
and you simply want to pry that little
cover right off and that'll
give us access to the screws which are
behind this little face plate right here
so we're going to take our flathead
screwdriver put it inside there and just
simply give it a little twist
and that cover simply comes off now
we've got access to these two screws
take our drill that's one
be careful not to drop the back side
that's two and we'll take our other
handle from the other side here
and that side as well and there is our
door handle guys so that is how to
remove it
we'll quickly remove this latch as well
and now we're ready to reinstall our new
door handle
so now we can take our new handles now
this one here is a little bit of a
different design
i always prefer to have the screws
visible
makes things a lot easier for people to
do themselves
if you ever needed to replace it at a
later later stage
so we'll get our screws ready put our
latch in
fix our latch into place with the screws
now we can take our handles now this
little release mechanism here is a
safety feature
in case somebody happens to lock the
door or somebody gets locked inside you
can always
turn that little snip here over using a
butter knife or anything like that and
that'll release it for you so this one
here needs to go
on the outside slot that one in
and then we'll get our other side ready
as well
and we can install our two screws
i always like to hand tight these ones
first to make sure that you don't cross
thread anything
or at least thread them on partially
and then you can follow through with the
drill whenever you're ready
make sure our locking feature here works
perfect so there you have it guys that's
how to remove a door handle when there's
no visible
screws in this case here the one that
we've replaced has
visible screws so hopefully you've
enjoyed the video i've helped you guys
out and got you out of trouble
i've seen a lot of people do a lot of
damage to the door and also the existing
hardware
simply trying to remove it without
knowing where those screws are
as always guys like comment and
subscribe until next time i'm bill
thanks for watching bills how to
