Hi one of the commonly asked questions from our customers in our showrooms
When they purchase a Bosch washing machine is why the control panel is not working
Now normally, this is down to the child lock
It's a little key symbol, and on most of the machines where it's got a display on it
It will show a little key symbol
And today I will show you how to get rid of it because when you're trying to do the washing
And when you've activated the child lock accidentally, it's very annoying
There are several different machines and I'll show you how to do it
So here goes alright so to start with I'll show you on this machine. This is part of the WAB range or the Maxx 6
But as long as your machine looks similar to this then this should work
first of all turn the machine on to any program
I'll show you how to enable the child lock and then how to disable it
so first of all you need to start the program
Once you've started it then press and hold the start button for five seconds
And what you'll see there is there's a little symbol with a key
Basically the child lock is enabled now
So any of these options can't be selected and to disable it is the same again
Press and hold the start button for five seconds
And then it goes off so with second type of model this is part of the WAN range
These are the series 4 models
I've got this switched on at the moment
Again the same as the first machine once you've started the program
Then it does actually show you the little key here, so all you do is you press and hold that
It's these two buttons here and again, you've got the child lock on the left hand side
That's just beeping to say it's enabled
and to disable it
Again, just press the "RPM" and the "Finished in"
button
and press those for three seconds and
Then the key disappears
So that's sorted on that model
So this is one of Bosch's popular machines
This is parts of the WAQ or the WAP range
This design they have done for several years, so
If your machine looks similar to this then on this machine once you've turned it on
First of all you press start
to enable the child lock you press and hold to start button for five seconds, and it shows CL
It's bringing this error code up now because I've not got the water connected
There's not a lot I can do about that at the moment because I'm in the showroom
The classic with this machine is you should actually put it back on their program, so
To disable the child lock basically you press and hold that button for five seconds,
That will have disabled it now
And then you can change the program
What happens is if you've enabled the child lock on it
Then what can happen is that if you move from one program to another you can't actually operate the machine
so what you have to do is put it back on the original program that you selected and
Then disable the child lock by pressing and holding that button for five seconds
And if your machine looks like this, Again this is one of the WAQ models. It's slightly different because it's got the bigger display
Similar to the other machines where you press start first
So to enable the child lock first we press and hold this start button
And the key appears on the screen there and to disable it the same thing again press and hold the start button
And it's around five seconds
So once you've done that then it's got rid of the key, and then you're ready to go again
So this is parts of the WAT range. These are the slightly larger load normally 9 Kg's
so with this design
similar to the WAN models
So once you started the machine
And all you do is you press and hold the "RPM" and the "Finished in" button
and what that will do is that will enable the child lock little key symbol on there and
again, this is telling me that I need to connect water to it and to disable it all you need to do is press and
hold the "RPM" and the "Finished In" button
And then once you have done that the little key symbol disappears
So on this type of design, this is parts of Bocsh's series six range
This particular model is the IDOS range?
These are towards the top end of the range in Bosch
Basically with these is slightly simpler
Because you've got a nice big display on these
Than the child lock is actually this key symbol here
Sometimes what you can do is you can actually inadvertently press it
But to enable it you basically
hold it down for three seconds and that will light up
Know it. Just means that you can't
Do anything else on the machine
To disable it and to use other programs
Because you can't even move the program around
Which is excellent if you have got young children, but what you can do is you press and hold that for three seconds
It disables it and then you can carry on using the machine
Hope you found that useful. Please give us a thumbs up on a YouTube video and leave any comments below
Thank you very much
