hello everybody this is Abraham Marshall
Computer Services today I'd like to show
you that it is possible to recover or
copy files or mute movies from your DVR
so I have the DVR here and the DVR
basically has a hard drive inside
there's the hard drive it's under there
I have it connected to the USB external
well this is a USB and I just booted it
up to the computer and the DVR is saving
files in the MPEG format can I have to
sift through all the files to find the
movies that you have but in short it is
possible it's using a regular MPEG
format to record movies and whatever you
have on your hard drive can be backed up
to a computer there is no direct
connection I mean you can connect the
VCR and just you know turn on the movies
but once the DVR doesn't have contract
on it it will be disabled by the however
provides the DVR service but all of your
movies are still on hard drive and they
can be saved you're going to have to
jump through hoops to get them out but
it is possible
so looks like there is quite a bit of
stuff on there all ampeg none of which
I'm interested in in fact I don't really
have anything in there that I'm
interested in but I just wanted to
experiment and see whether it was some
kind of proprietary format or just
regular impact the formatting of the
drive itself is proprietary but as long
as Drive reads inside of the computer or
mounts I should say you should be able
to recover anything from
hopefully this helps somebody if you
have something irreplaceable on your DVR
by all means you can save it
