do it this is what have we gotten into
in society I couldn't have done this
before and I'll show you what I'm
talking about a minute because it was
frozen now it's not frozen anymore
because this is aluminum that steel is
pin so it freezes up what we're showing
is that that lockdown pin this is how
the thing comes in a box this chop saw
or if you want to store it like I have
to on a shelf I have to lock it down or
else it doesn't fit in the condo land

basically what you do is push down on
the top put a little pressure and you
can pull your PIN out look it goes up
that's so often you leave it just like
that it doesn't have a spring I could
have swore I had to spring a knob on it
but then I'm looking at other models
that are newer than this we're about the
same you know stylist I changed a number
on that same saw same apparatus it does
fully free floats in there well the deal
is this things from like 2005 over time
again get corrosion in there or it's
this is a humid climate this it ruined
everything

down here hold down a little clip thing
rust everywhere but I cleaned it mostly
up the lunar rust it was all peeling
over here I scraped it all down sand and
it pained me not the best you say over
there but good enough but that is the
lockdown pin and I could have swore that
thing had a knob on it over here or it
had a spring-loaded apparatus like
dishes it's spring-loaded but it's not
now it's old was beat-up I had to drive
her back and forth see if that's frozen
on you you have to drive it back and
forth at least 25 times when it's in the
down position
you're able to actually get it it can
get onto it
this slide is spit over here with a long
punch you can catch the end of it and
drive it or you can pry it over here
with something and keep on prying it
this way like a end of a hammer that
might fit or get a chisel or it on the
edge and it's let it's all beat up and
then drive it back this way and drive it
back this way and drive it back this way

Blaster whatever you got and I'll free
that thing up I think it's not gonna
freeze up now for a while it's a lot of
goop on it but that is that is the pin
maybe it's ideal to to drill a little
tiny hole in there to for lubrication
2005 saw though this thing made some
stuff back in the day and now it's just
rotting here but that is the walk pin on
your chop saw people don't know what
that is that's ridiculous I knew what it
was I just didn't think that well I knew
something was wrong with it and every
time I use this thing I had to go hammer
it out I said this thing you should
slide and sure enough it's supposed to
slide mine was this rotted rusted
I got aluminum corrosion well another
thing I did I chucked this in the drill
when it was an up position because don't
do it one in seven down position unless
you have you take the pressure off I
chucked it on the drill and then I kept
on spinning it this way and that way I
was spinning and I kept going in and out
in and out in that so in and out spin
motion with a lot of penetrating oil
it got rid of all that corrosion in
there just eat it up because it gets
steel aluminum what's gonna wear first
do you want them so that is how I fixed
