this is the lock-picking learner what we
have for you today is its choir CP 50
that's enough for me with an awful lot
picking Laura hi guys know me do again
and today we're going to do something a
bit different I'm gonna try to pick or
decode this Squire combination padlock
recently I've been watching quite a few
videos from the lock-picking lawyer and
Bosnian bill both I have the youtubers
who are members of the Loch sport
community which is basically just people
who enjoy picking locks for fun and you
know seeing what's going on oh that and
I suppose you could compare it in a way
if you were singing about computer
hackers you've got the bad hackers and
then you've got the white hat hackers
who exposed security flaws and things
like that and that's what the log
support community does in reality and
many times these lock companies like
Squire will actually send their locks to
people like Bosnian bill and
lock-picking lawyer to you know say can
you test our lock find any flaws and
then we will modify the lock to overcome
that so that's really what the jock
sport community is about and I've been
watching the further videos and I know
back in the back in the 80s you start
the combination bike locks which is a
bit of a thin chain which you could
probably cut with a decent pair of
scissors and that had a little four
four-wheel thing and if you applied a
bit attention to that you could ripple
wheels and you can find the code quite
easily and so I've been watching Bosnian
bill recently and the locking lawyer and
seeing them pick some of these security
combination padlocks can't be too hard
I'm sure I could do that so while I was
at the boot sale today or no not today
yesterday oh brain
normally I'd buy electronics junk and
various stupid things I found this
squire and I think it's a CP 50 CP
standing for combination padlock and
it's got a kind of a thing on the bottom
where you have to once you put in the
right code you press that and it Springs
open and so I found this in a box and
got it very very cheaply and so it's
alright that's some let's see if I can
decode this thing no oh yeah this is
after watching both yawning oh it's
Bosnian bill I need a couple of the
Eason waiter did you slide a feeler
gauge down the side of the wheel and
then you kind of feel for like a flat
spot and not really showing it rolling
on camera my
look there to be any flat spots well it
might be asked on this side okay not
feeling anything I'm not one going this
second one here just feels round okay
that's not no no there's no flat spots
normally if you find a flat spot on each
one then you know you found two sort of
the gates what they call and then you
would just rotate each one by one at a
time
so you would go and then you keep going
by one and then you would get it open
and that doesn't work on this one so
then see see what you would do on the
old cycle locks which is obviously
really crappy quality you would pull on
it and then you could feel you can it's
actually funny you can hear these three
clicking and that top one doesn't click
I'm not sure if you're supposed to do
that or not but I'm not getting any
difference in the tension when I'm
putting out so what if yes but if press
on that thing and see if we see any yeah
about two in a bit of tension ominous
will yeah that seems
well there's definitely I know when that
one went from seven to six
it almost felt like it pushed back
against my thumb
there was nothing on that Tocqueville
that this bottom one we said it that's
pretty much standing the same and all
the things
Oh No
maybe push down on the thing on presser
at the same time
hmm this is not as easy as I thought
okay that's so that's really sad for
thing and that's but dick brush go and
see which one is finding the most well
is this one seems to get to a stiff
point
you can definitely feel the difference
in the tension and a difference
you know nothing any change on that will
stop one team just get tight and yeah
just seems to so they thought one on
late
you know I think the might have run into
what's known as a falsetto no I clear on
it mmm
well I start them all on zero
[Music]
so whatever do nice put lots of pressure
on there and see which one is finding
the most all right this last one now
it's binding really tight and it seems
to have dropped into a little gate there
so our last one maybe six I know this
one's gone really tight
you're right good
maybe that's okay and then tension no
tension young buff yeah there's
definitely a lot of tension almost
second we all know I can already
Oh buddy watch your fingers a bit and
you keeping so much pressure on them
I think we would know when we've got the
first two right I think there will come
a lot of pressure on this third one
it doesn't seem to be that first one now
either all right let me pause the video
for a minute and then we there I'm
Buddhist you actually going to see me
down around when I get so there's
tension on this third real then I'll
come back and we see that all right guys
I think I've got and we got to do is
press this then I also push this chuckle
bit downwards at the same time and that
then gives you the right feedback and I
says I gotta know like a sail I can see
all this push-button moving slightly and
I'm only applying fairly light tension
to it but I can see that as I'm changing
the numbers it's moving slightly in and
out and there it seems to have pushed in
a tiny bit on the six so I'm gonna say
that number six so yep again you can
feel it I can feel it moving against my
finger and yep
that's that seems to be a seven-night
yeah now we've got tension on this reel
and yep did you know that you can almost
hold it when it clicked in yeah so let's
now go this one well that's it I think
we got it mom now cut that two four
seven six
I saw Freud that Dan although probably
not a good idea to use the slot now that
I've showed this combination and showed
her how to open it on the camera and
yeah bit of rust in there as we can see
so yeah basically this this little well
push button should we say if you see it
and as it pushed in oh if you look at
that you can see it's almost like
somebody's been trying to get at this as
like a screwdriver or something trying
to leave over that out or something I
don't know but but as you can see that
that pushes in that's why I locks it and
if I push it in a little bit
see you can see it's quite a bit of
springiness there and without pushing
down on the shackle it sort of doesn't
spring back so you don't get any sort of
feeling from it but if you push down on
the shackle and and press that you can
actually feel I don't know if we can see
if I show this
let's get it when it goes into the gate
well it was number six on the end or
five and you might just see it move a
bit or you can certainly feel that under
your fingers and then when it comes out
as you say you can just say that yep as
it goes in the gate that's it
so yeah this is the first real padlock
I've decoded in that way but yeah so you
have to use so a moderate tension on
this the main thing is pushing down on
the charcoal that allows this button to
have a lot of feedback and you can
actually feel safe I can you see that
pushing my finger up there as I move
that out of that southern gate and you
can feel it you can feel it a lot of
feedback the five release tension on the
shackle it doesn't give me any feedback
at all on that so that's some that's
very good
so yeah the squire CP 50 decoded by a
lock-picking learner so I think if I
take your eyes
the lock-picking lawyer for the start of
the video I'll play trolleys Bosnian
bill for the end of the video stay safe
stay legal
