this is the lock-picking nui and what i
have for you today is this lock and
there's there's a story behind this lock
but I will just skip to the end and I
will tell you this is the actual lock
mechanism from a coin box that goes on a
laundry machine from a laundromat so I
like that I have long ago disassembled
the coin box I did take some pictures of
it as I was taking it apart so hopefully
I can find those and I'll put those in
the in the video but one day I'm sitting
at a wrestling meet and one of the other
wrestling dad's had found out that I
pick locks and mr. L and he was like hey
I think I might have something so mr. L
man just properties and he ends up
pulling a bunch of locks off of
properties and one of them so he pulls
out this bag with this metal box in it
and well what the heck is that so we
figured out what it is and and got it
home I start taking it apart layer after
layer and it finally comes down to this
core and I tried picking it for months
actually and never got anywhere with it
but a while back I finally gotten open
on it and now I'm going to show you how
I did it so I'm gonna crank this down
I have no key I had previously attempted
picking this with these Sparrow's wafer
[Music]
things and no joy
so I basically reverted to like single
pin single wafer picking it and started
to have some luck so let's see how our
luck is
today all right so I never really have
gotten a super good count I think I told
y'all once before I'm not too good at
counting things but let's work at the
bottom a little click on the first one
click on to a little bit of a click at
position 3 4 I think that's it for the
bottom so go to the top now I was doing
this earlier but now I can't remember
what all the orientations were all right
with them somewhere in the middle
getting some clicks working the way back
in the lock just lost a tension wrench
but don't think I lost the sets you
might be able to see the the cylinder
here is really racked up some of that is
me but not all of it and we're open so
there you have it let me you know one
thing I've never done is once I had it
open I've never actually tried to then
disassemble it and sure enough it does
not look like it wants to disassemble I
bet you if I pry this little chrome
bezel off of it I bet once it's open it
will it'll fly out of there so let me
see if I can get you a little bit of a
view into this thing oh my yeah you're
not gonna be able to see in there very
well um maybe I'll take us take a
picture with better light and show you
inside but it's just a wafer cylinder it
it was interesting to kind of learn I
was a little embarrassed at how hard it
was for me to get into it the first time
but that's just the way it is so with
that I will just say that is what it
looks like that is what's protecting
your quarters when you when you do your
laundry I like that wait maybe there's
some more
light down here let me try to zoom in it
no I don't know you can kind of barely
see in there okay anyhoo that's the
laundry box light thank you mister L and
the other wrestlers who are fans of
picking locks you guys know who you are
and that is all I have for you today and
this is the lock cookie newbie stay safe
stay healthy and have a good day
