hey i think i'm sure what the video if
you guys in today's video will show you
how to unlock your samsung phone with a
network unlock code that you receive
from your carrier or if you were able to
get it somehow so
we'll show you how to enter that so your
phone is unlocked so a network unlock
code is something that you get from your
carrier which will explain how you can
get that and then go through the unlock
process so first thing first of course
make sure your phone is powered on you
can also power it off either way works
we want to go ahead and put a sim card
in that's
not the original carrier so the original
carrier on this samsung phone is a att
network now we want to put in like a
t-mobile sim or some other carrier sim
that is an atm t and to do that you want
to first locate the sim tray on your
device here on the note 20 ultra it's on
the top sometimes it's on the bottom
sometimes on the top so you have to know
where it is by looking around it's
usually a hole that's very small like
this and then you take a sim ejector
tool or if you have a paper clip go
ahead and pop that in there and pop out
the sim card tray once you pop out the
sim card tray you want to pull it out
and then take again this is a t phone so
we'll use a t-mobile sim card or another
carrier right that you have that you
want to activate in and then go ahead
and put that sim card in there and then
it will give us a menu where we can
enter that
network code as you can see here it'll
ask us for a network unlock code now as
we mentioned uh this unlock code is
something we received from att after we
have paid off the device here is the
unlock code that we have for our device
as you can see this unlock code it's
going to be very different from everyone
every device itself because not the same
on lock for every single person because
it's unique to your device that your
carrier will give you so we'll go ahead
and enter that code in here so what you
want to do is as you can saw this many
just popped up after we put a sim card
in that's different from the original
carrier so we'll go ahead and enter that
in now
you want to make sure you enter the
code correctly again like we mentioned
this is going to be very different for
everyone so even if i were to give you
this one it won't work for you because
you have to get it from your carrier the
only way your carrier gives you this is
most of the time your phone has to be
paid off so it's not on a contract you
have to either be active on the on that
carrier for sometimes 60 days six months
a year depending on all the carriers are
slightly different and they have
different policies so after you enter
the unlock code you want to hit that
unlock and then it will do network
unlock code verify and as you can see
that menu went away now we're able to
switch to t-mobile by simply restarting
this device and that will allow us to
use t-mobile on a t phone and the phone
is unlocked which means we'll be able to
use it on any carrier that we like so a
couple things about this is that if you
don't see that menu that we saw when we
popped up after you put our sim card in
turn off the phone and then power it
back on and this time you should see
that thing again now if you do put in
the code and it fails it will say failed
and if you keep on putting it right and
it fails contact your carrier again to
make sure the code is right because
sometimes they could give you a
incorrect code again the code is
something you get from your original
carrier if you meet their requirement in
most cases the requirement is that the
device isn't in contract meaning you're
not making monthly payment it's fully
yours and you have used it on their
service and they have policy to do that
so after you do that as you can see we
restarted the phone and now we have
unlocked our device to use t-mobile so
