in this video i'm trying to
troubleshoot this particular problem
i logged into my storefront server and i
try to launch an application
it is trying to launch
so what happens is it
it is not loading the application
directly it is
downloading a launch dot ica file it is
asking me to
download a launch dot icf file
so in this scenario what we can do is
we can
we can save the file
okay we can save the file and we can try
to
do a couple of things
the first thing that we need to do is we
need to check whether we have
a citrix receiver installed or not on
your laptop or your device if you have
citrix receiver or citrix workspace
installed
on your device but you're still facing
this problem
what you can do is
you can just right click on it
and
select open with
and you see this option here keep using
citrix connection manager
so select this
okay after selecting this
go back
see
if you see now the application is
launching automatically
okay so it is not downloading
launch dot ic anymore let's try to log
off and relog in and see how it goes
let's minimize this
new internet explorer
and
let's type
forefront
okay
now let's try to login and see
if it is still trying to download the
file launch.icf file or not okay
okay i'm trying to sign in
okay let me try to launch notepad again
and see how it goes it should
straightaway launch or load without
asking me to download the launch.ica
file this time
it is taking a while to load so please
bear with me
interesting it says cannot start app
let's try to launch again
okay it's trying to launch this time
you see now it is not trying to download
launch dot ic anymore it's tradable
launching the application
okay let it launch
okay the application is launched
successfully
yeah it says launching application so we
should see notepad coming up on the
screen

what we did was we just pointed the
launch dot icf file to download from
download using connection manager if you
remember we just right clicked on it we
clicked on open with and we tried to
you know connect using citrix connection
manager at any point in time
if you still
see launch dot icf file getting
downloaded in that scenario what you can
do is
uh just come back to the same launch dot
icf file and right click on it
and click on open with okay
and click on more options
okay and click
look for another
app on this pc please select this
okay once you select that click on c
drive
once you click on c drive you see
program files x86
click on it
after that you see citrix click on it
and you see ica ica client click on it
once you click on it just scroll down
keep scrolling down
okay now you see
wfc run 32 okay
and you also see wf ic832
please don't use wf5 c832 please use wfc
run 32
click on this and try to open the launch
dot icf file using this application just
click open
once you click open what happens is it
should try to launch the app you should
yeah it should try to launch the
application now
okay let's try to
okay let's
yeah it's launched
let's try to launch again and see how it
goes
all right
it's loading absolutely fine
it is quick this time i don't know why
all right so so far i've given you two
solutions the first one is
you can
yeah first of all you have to check
whether the citrix receiver is installed
or not if you think that the receiver
is installed properly then in that case
you can you can use connection manager i
showed you like right click on icf file
go to open with then use connection
manager if
if that is not solving the problem then
i told you to go to citrix program files
i'm sorry c windows

program files
uh software citrix and i told you to
open the file
using wfc run 32 i'll just show that to
you in a minute
so this is the location just go to c
uh program files x86 citrix
and ica client and
wfc run 32
okay i'll just
open that
okay this is the one wfc 132 so you have
to open that launch dot icf with this
file
it should launch automatically next time
when you try to log in you should be
able to launch
citrix applications without downloading
the ica file if this is also not solving
the problem
in that scenario what you can do is if
you are using internet explorer
you can just click on
settings
and
go to
internet options
once you go to internet options click on
advanced
once you click on advanced just scroll
down
okay and
this yeah just keep scrolling down
yeah just keep scrolling down
i'm looking for a particular
okay you see this here do not save
encrypted pages to disk all right
this needs to be unchecked if it is
checked on your machine on the browser
just uncheck it
and click apply and click ok so i have
given three solutions now
if after performing all these three
solutions if it still doesn't solve the
problem
uh
then you may have to reinstall citrix
receiver if you if you think that it's
already installed just try to reinstall
citrix receiver and check again
otherwise you may have to use some
registry uh you know citrix receiver
cleanup tool to uninstall citrix
receiver components and try to do a
fresh installation all right
