Honda has a auto door unlocking feature
that you can have your doors
automatically unlock when you move your
shifter to park or when you take your
key out of the on position or when you
turn your car off currently ours is set
to only unlock the driver's side door
and not any of the others and we're
going to change that and I will show you
how to do this so here I will
demonstrate I have the vehicle on all
doors are locked and I'm going to turn
the car over and as you can see the
driver's side unlocked while the
passengers and their other remaining
doors remained locked okay to change
these you're going to put the car in the
on position which is the key slot that
is marked with the Roman numeral two you
don't have to start the vehicle the next
thing you want to do is make sure the
vehicle is in park which it is so then
you will set the parking brake which on
the CRV is down in the floor so we've
set the parking brake and then we are
going to press and hold the brake pedal
which I am doing right now and then
you're going to move the shift lever out
of park okay so it doesn't matter where
you put it just as long as it's not in
park then you're going to push and hold
the rear master door lock which the
master is the one that controls all the
doors so you can push the back part of
it and you're going to hold it and
you'll hear one click after five seconds
and that will set it so only the driver
side door will unlock and if you
continue to hold it you'll hear a second
click about after ten seconds and that
will set it so all the doors will unlock
and that's what I
to do so I'm going to press and hold it
there's the first one
there's the second one
okay within five seconds of doing that
you'll want to turn the ignition to the
accessory which is just one notch
towards yourself and put the vehicle
back in to park and that will set it if
you wait longer than five seconds it
will not take the city so let's test it
start the car
let's lock the doors everything's locked
and I'm going to turn the car off and
there we go it unlocked this one and
locked all the others as well so that's
how you set it so when you're holding
this button here after about five
seconds you'll hear one sound that
sounds like sounds like that where
you're locking the door so when you're
holding this button you'll hear that
sound after about five seconds now if
you want only the driver side door to
open you will let go then and then move
your key to accessory and put the car in
park if you want all the lock doors to
unlock you'll continue holding this
until you'll hear another sound that
sounds like this and then once you hear
the second sound then you move the key
to the accessory put it in park so there
you have it we've changed the mode from
just the driver side to all the doors
and that's how you do it hope this video
