hello today on DIY with Chris
hey everyone I've been receiving a few
comments on this Chicago sighing minor
stop the question is being asked by
frequently is how to replace the blade
on it apparently on some people when you
buy the song the blade is an installed
already it just comes with it so there's
been some some confusion on how to
actually install it mine personally
actually came with it Ariane however
we'll go over that process today you
only need a couple minutes for the most
part so we're just using we're just
using this socket wrench and a number
five allen wrench first thing we're
going to be doing is coming over to this
hex bolt right here and so we're just
going to take that number five wrench
put it in here and it's just twisting it
left you can do it without this I
believe but this just makes it a whole
lot easier so start twisting it we can
hand twist thrust the way off and it
covers that next thing we're going to do
is take our wrench and I'm using a
thirteen millimeter right now you can
see a bolt that's on the side here and
so I'm going to take this to that bolt
you can just move your piece then out of
the way you'll also see a Philips head
screw screw right here
do not test that at all that does deal
with the tension and everything on your
blade guard so you don't want to mess
with that at all
just leave it alone we'll come over to
this one and we just start loosening
this bowl you can loosen a little bit
and you can use your hand after a while
to the and loosening and you'll see this
is starting to get a little bit
and after we've added loose enough you
don't have to actually take it out all
the way but that would post right here
now I can slide that post down and just
move this up out of the way I have full
access to the bolt that's holding in the
blade at this point same thing right
here it uses the same size it's a
thirteen millimeter on the other side
there's a little piece that you can push
right here and if I push that in and
then twist it at the same time that will
walk in the blade so just trying to show
you here I haven't pushed in and my
blade won't turn anymore it's locked in
and that's as I'm pushing this lever see
the lever is all the way in right now if
I rotate the blade a little bit it only
push in a little bit and I don't have to
rock it and then we'll walk the blade in
but you can just use that same socket
lock the blade twist that and then you
can replace or install your blade at
that point that's all there is to it
once you're done just swing it down this
blade guard is a little bit annoying a
to a point here with the tension on it
to just slide it all the way up and
tighten it down as far as you can until
it gets past that post make sure it's
locked in and then just finish
tightening it with your move make sure
it stays in and that's all there is to
it that's how you change the blade on
your Chicago electric Microsoft
