when I wanted to make a quick little
video if you're wanting if you notice on
the excuse me sorry I'd having trouble
think of what I'm saying here on this
Jen of Chevy Impala and Chevy Monte
Carlo if you notice when you turn the
key over to the dinner position your
exterior lights will come on at night
and you know if you start it that way I
know it's you know perhaps maybe a small
amperage but you got to think of every
single ball that's pulling off that
battery an alternator when you start it
with lights on isn't even as much as
like the tag lights and the side markers
you know the small amperage those are
and then your headlights and your tails
and your parking lights up front
so all that drawing off the concurrent
battery the current off the battery you
know obviously it's going to drain your
batteries much quicker over time and I
want to show you a little technique I
learned a long time with all these cars
if you want to disable the oh wait I
call it yeah the lights coming on at
night also if you want to disable turn
off your DRL if you're in the USA
DRL are not required recommended but
again not required the way I take it
some parts of Canada some ricans it is
some it is not so definitely make sure
you look into that before doing this
doing it pulled over for a civil
infraction and get a citation for that
matter but the way you do it is see the
parking brake down there it's real
simple
before you turn the car over at all you
take put the perk and break all the way
down and then you turn the key to the
second position which is I call the
digger position where the bells and
stuff go off you don't have your
seatbelt on
and then of course when you you know
start it you disengage it and then that
will do one of two at night it'll not
allow your lights will not come on until
you put it in gear and your DRL will not
come out in the daytime so it's the
two-for-one kind of combo I found that
out many many years ago with this car it
was I couldn't figure out how to turn
off the GRL I tried pulling the relay
and because I couldn't find the fuse and
then I found the fuse later I'm gonna
try putting the relay and I've never in
my life had this happen on any vehicle
I've ever pulled the DRL on and it
actually takes the I can't remember the
one side of the headlight makes it a lot
weaker like we're talking like you know
the headlights back in the 60s and 70s
and the other side will be fine so it's
something that does not like that pulled
I don't know why this was never a
Canadian car it was 100% USA so I don't
know why it freaks out like that but it
does not like it so that's my solution
to just say bling dr elves if applicable
where you are yeah so that's what a
little snippet video I wanted to make
you and I hope you guys have a good day
afternoon or night whenever you're
watching this and take care thanks bye
