all right so
in this edition of ever since
we have a chevy cruze that we just did
the turbo one customer takes it
says ever since you did the turbo the
trunk doesn't open
like okay well
i'm trying to think how i could have
messed up the trunk lid by doing a turbo
but
according to customer it's all my fault
anyways so these buttons are notorious
for going bad
um it's just one of those things that
chevy
cruises just suck at there there's one
of those things but anyways
so here's the old one this is how you
test
to see if it's bad well first
if you shut it and you take your key
and it opens with the button you know
that the latch is good and all the
wiring to the latch is good
so then you go to the switch and this is
the crappy thing about
chevy you have to buy this whole piece
this switch right here is glued in it is
not replaceable
and to verify that it is the switch
you can see right there we've got
two little chunks taken out
um and then you twist them together
and if the trunk pops or if the the
latch
clicks because you already have the
trunk open then you know it's the switch
and looking at it this customer knew
that this was bad
because he had dug this all out and
trying to get this button there's
nothing you can do in this button to
make it work again
this thing's toast and i don't think
even if you did
do it good you would have been able to
get it to work
but anyways if you have the rear view
camera
it's 270 dollars for this piece
rather receipt right here 270 dollars
if you do not have the camera it's only
70
so if you have the expensive
upper end model plan on spending almost
300 bucks
oh yeah that's my cost it is 361 if any
normal person goes into the dealership
and just says they need this without an
account so
anyways 361 dollars if you have the
camera
and it's only 70 dollars if you uh if
you don't have the camera
but anyways yeah it works now
so you can come up ta-da
all i needed was a new button so i don't
know how replacing a turbo makes a
button go bad but
for some reason it's always my fault
