hey guys it's flip and today I'm gonna
do a review of this quikrete concrete
crack seal alright so here's the product
it says it'll fill and seal cracks up to
a half inch wide it'll dry to the touch
in about a half hour and it hardens in
24 hours then you can reapply as much as
needed after that 24 hours so here's a
few pros and cons of this stuff first
the pro it's super easy to use you don't
even have to tool it or anything you
don't even need a caulk gun you just
apply it in the cracks and it's self
levels and there is one trick I kind of
learned with it you want to try to fill
in the crack how you want it get it to
the correct depth and then leave it
alone if you go back and touch it after
a minute or two it's gonna make it look
bad there's kind of like a skin that
forms on the surface within a minute or
so so if you touch it and it's starting
to dried self level it just doesn't look
that good so try and get it right the
first time as much as you can if you
need to go back and add some more after
it dries after 24 hours and that's fine
you can reapply it as much as needed you
can clean up a little bit as you go with
the wet finger or a rag but the more you
can get it right the first time the
better off you're gonna be
here's a con it seems like no matter how
much you shake the bottles you're gonna
get a clog in the end of it I use four
different bottles for this project and I
only had one bottle that never clogged
the other three clogged from time to
time I just kept a nail on a wet rag on
hand to unclog it it's just kind of a
pain when you're trying to apply it
quickly and correctly so here's the
before shot we just finished a job a
couple days ago and it's good and dry
now so I'll let you see how the cracks
look right now and here's a couple of
joints that we did
and we're gonna check back in one year
after this has been out in the weather
for the rest of the summer and the
winter and we'll see how it looks all
right so it's been a year since I put
this stuff down so I'm going to show it
to you and give you my takeaways and you
can decide what you think this joint is
just a little bit over a half inch and
as you can see it held up pretty well a
little bit of splitting going on here
but overall it did a pretty good job but
some of these cracks I'm not too happy
with for example right here this is a
little bit less than a half inch all the
right steps were taken and it's still
splitting and cracking a little bit
after just a year so I'll let you have a
look at that for yourself
but some of them held up well like this
one right here know again some of these
cracks are bigger than a half-inch this
one's almost two inches across so you
can't hold these against the company
it's not advertised to work on cracks
that big it's just some of the smaller
cracks that are splitting them I'm not
super happy with so the good news is I
had a leftover from last year so got it
out of the closet and gave it a good
shake and it came out just fine and
works so I decided to use it to kind of
top off the cracks that had formed over
the past year to get it looking a little
better so that did help it only took me
about five minutes and got it looking
better than it was but I guess the
ultimate question is would I use this
product again and I guess the answer is
in an area like this I'm probably fine
with it this is just a concrete slab
behind my house where my garbage can sit
it's not highly visible so I'm not too
concerned with it having said that I'm
definitely torn on the product it was
easy to use but it didn't hold up that
well so in the future on a new project
say somewhere like my patio where I
wanted to look nicer I would probably
try something new so hopefully this
video helps you out and you can make a
decision for yourself thanks for
