hi everyone
Aaron here for Zolo Tech and I wanted to
show you how to unlock the Samsung
Galaxy s6 this is the AT&T variant as
you can see here it's locked to AT&T and
if you want to unlock it and use it
overseas or worldwide you can do that
but there's a couple steps you'll need
to do that so the first thing we'll need
to do is actually find out what the IMEI
number is on this particular device to
do that you can go to phone and then you
want to dial star pound zero six pound
this will pop up the information such as
the IMEI and in this case actually the
serial number
now the IMEI on this what you want to do
is take this number and once you have
this number you want to put it into a
website that will actually give you the
unlock code now the one I'm actually
using is called the unlocking company
comm so let's take a look at that I'm at
the unlocking company comm and as you
can see we need to select our phone
manufacturer so we'll do that the first
thing we need to do is select Samsung in
this case then we need to select our
phone model now it may take a moment to
load there we go we'll scroll down until
we find the galaxy s6 now there's quite
a few Samsung phones so just keep going
you'll find it here and you can see
here's the galaxy s6 unlock code all
countries or EU carrier lock so
depending on where your unlocking this
from select what you need to here and
then we'll click on get unlocking code
now this is the part where we actually
need to select the country we purchased
it from in this case it's the United
States but depending on where you live
that can vary and then we need to select
our carrier and in this case it's AT&T
now here we'll need to put in the IMEI
and in this cost it's actually $39.99
but that can also vary depending on your
carrier and country so let's put in the
IMEI once you have the IMEI in just go
ahead and click on get unlocking code
you can see it says your unlock code
will be sent to your paypal email and
once you've paid it can take one to
three days according to this time that
may vary
like I said before depending on your
carrier and where you live once you get
your code back from the unlocking
company you'll need to put that into the
device now my code actually took about
24 hours or less to come in but
depending on your country and carrier
that can vary now what we'll need to do
is actually swap the SIM card to a
non-supported SIM card so we'll do that
with a t-mobile SIM card and like I said
this is actually an AT&T device so let's
pop the SIM card out you can see it says
SIM card removed you can see there's a
t-mobile SIM card there we'll put that
in place making sure we put this in
correctly of course there we go
wants me to restart so we'll restart the
phone has restarted let's unlock it and
you can see immediately it pops up
asking for a sim network unlock pin
that's because this SIM card won't work
the phone is actually locked so now that
I've got my code let's go ahead and put
it in and we'll get that and you want to
be very careful to do this you only get
about ten tries and it will never let
you unlock it again so I'll be very
careful and put this in I have my unlock
code in let's hit unlock network unlock
successful now the phone is permanently
unlocked it will allow me to use it on
any GSM supported carrier worldwide now
we'll give it a moment you can see it
picked up the bars here there we go says
I have 4G let's go ahead and try to go
to Zola tech comm I've actually never
gone to Zola tech on this device you can
see it's brand new
and I'm not on Wi-Fi or anything I'm
using the t-mobile SIM card and now it
will work worldwide so it's pretty
simple and pretty quick to do just be
sure to check for your particular
carrier and those sort of things but let
me know if you have any questions in the
