we're ready to change the code on our
6120 lock
we need to have the safe unlocked to
perform a code change
the lock doesn't require it it's just
good procedure so we'll turn the handle
to the open position
we know that our door is now openable
we're going to leave the handle in the
open position while we perform our code
change
we're going to simply change our code
for demonstration purposes only
from our factory original one two three
four five six
to six five four three two one obviously
this would not be a good code to use in
real life it's simply going to be used
for our demonstration to begin the code
changing process we enter 7
4
star
we're now required to put in the
existing code for the lock which will be
1
2 3
4 5 6 followed by the pound sign
the lock beeps five times to indicate
that it has accepted all information so
far we're going to change the code in
the first position in the lock so we
press one star
and now we enter our new code which is
going to be six five four
three
two
one
pound
the lock beeps three times to indicate
it's accepted all information so far we
need to re-enter our new code of six
five four
three two one pound for verification
we get three beeps and that indicates to
us that the lock has accepted our new
code and the old code of one two three
four five six followed by the pound no
longer has any effect on the lock
whatsoever you'll also notice as i'm
going through the code changing process
or entering a code
i do not pause more than 10 seconds
between adjacent button presses if i do
that the lock will simply assume that
i've stopped and do not want to continue
and it will reset itself and i would
have to begin whatever process i was
attempting all over again let's try our
new code
six five four
three two one followed by the pound sign
we can hear the lock operate and this
indicates that our new code is operating
just fine
after we've checked our new code
three times
with the door unlocked
then we can go ahead and lock the door
and simply begin using our new code
