we're in server 2019 and I'm going to
show you how to unlock an account where
passwords been guessed too many times
incorrectly so we're going to go to
server manager then we're going to land
Active Directory users and computers
once we have that open we're just going
to go ahead and double click on the user
that has the locked account go to
account and you're going to see here
that it's locked
so it's going to say account is
currently locked go ahead and check the
box that says unlock account and that
will unlock the account and at that
point the user can go ahead and use the
username and password that they've been
using however this is not the same as a
disabled account so and a locked account
just basically means it's still active
but no one can log into it a disabled
account means that the account itself
cannot be used and it can't be used by
anyone or any device so there are a lot
of similarities between a locked account
and a disabled account you actually
enable and disable it from a different
spot so you would right click on the
user and choose disable account and then
you would see a little white arrow
pointing down next to the user and you
right click again and choose enable
account to bring the user back online
