all right hello YouTube I've got a
little Dell Optiplex here and doesn't
have a BIOS password instead what it has
is an administrative password and
they've got it locked the cd-rom drive
so I'm unable to install a new operating
system on here so let me show you how to
bypass this and first let me show you
here so I can get into system setup or
the BIOS as it's also called it's not
too slow there we go let me just go down
to security here administrator password
so set but there's no system password
anything else just this admin one so let
me show you how to reset that
all right if you take the outer case off
now you're looking down at the hard
drive pretty much power supplies on the
left and you want to get underneath the
hard drive here so these two tabs right
here this one in this one you just
squeeze those together the hard drive is
going to pop out okay
now in here try not to block the light
this little blue jumper it's called
right next to the white SATA connector
we'll just pull out and I don't know if
I can show it on here but it's labeled
PS WD one password one so pull that out
and slide your hard drive back in slide
that in the front it should just click
down like that and let's boot this guy
up
okay so I booted this computer up and
I'm in that same boot menu screen you
can see the USB cd-rom drive where that
used to be blocked is now open so what
I'm going to do is change that password
then I'm going to reinstall the
operating system on there so to do that
you just go into the system setup just
kind of in it I did it prior showed you
had to get there there's a security
security section and administrative
password so actually says not set I
probably going to leave it that way and
reinstall the operating system all right
any questions let me know
be sure to subscribe and I'll be sure to
post some more videos up thanks a lot
