let's do a quick review on this miter
saw I've had for a while I think I said
in another video I picked it up with my
table saw Rory Obi table saw it matches
this one bolting them together was like
200 250 dollars I forget it was at a
yard sale and it was over a year ago
this saw in particular has paid itself
off multiple times for that price this
is fantastic tool I'm really glad that I
bought it I think everybody needs a
miter saw
definitely definitely one by one I
bought it pretty much in this condition
it did have the lovely dealies that come
out the side the supports it did not
come with a safety shield if you buy one
you should get it with a safety shield
you know for safety because it's
important I don't use mine I just keep
my fingers clear but I like to be able
to bring the blade down and see where
it's going to hit a lot of times - the
safety shields these days fall apart so
let's didn't come with one but I live
with that I did a little upgrade here
with this red duct tape that is to
collect more sawdust it goes all the way
around the outside there and it collects
the solvus that comes off the back
because if you know anything about miter
saws they do poop out a lot of sawdust
here's the bag that it came with that
was on there it fills up very quickly
with sawdust I don't like using the bag
I did notice and I do use it you can put
a shot back right in there so not only
will the blade and the you know the
currents itself shoot the sawdust in
there but your your shopback will put a
vacuum in this area so this is
definitely an upgrade
I've seen some Universal ones that you
can buy duct tape works fine if it falls
off it's duct tape I can just replace it
so that's pretty good pretty quality
it's all metal you know metal lock that
locks in place here not the most precise
angles but most of stuff I do is rough
cut practical carpentry so this does
work I'm doing a little upgrade today
putting on a 180 tooth that's what the
180 T means it's the number of teeth the
more teeth the friend of a cut so I'm
going to be doing some more work on the
dollhouse today
so that's why I wanted to put this on
here get into the doing the smaller
parts so I want much nicer finer cuts
this is what I did have on here I don't
even think there's a label there it is
this is a 40 tooth blade
it says teeth it's kind of worn out but
whatever so this does work but it's more
of a rough cut saw little in-between
does low both if you go slow you're
going to get a nice cut if you go fast
you're going to rip you know some some
splinters out of the edge there's more
sanding with this there's going to be
virtually no sanding I could have went
and spent more on the extra expensive
nice like Dewalt blades this is just an
urban it was like $12 I think see if it
says I went on there I think it's in
under there but yeah so does change I
was out all you have to do is lift it up
undo this it's reverse threaded the tool
comes with it there's a little spot to
hold in here but Ryobi that's the point
in this video Rio B is a pretty quality
they're putting a lot of a high class
not really high class but uh innovative
ideas into their tools these days I
think it's a Home Depot brand they're
definitely you know where they don't
make up for in the quality in some areas
as like you know your higher name brands
like the Walt they are innovating in
putting new ideas and gizmos and gadgets
into their products you know to sell
them at the same level but you're still
spending less money with Dewalt most the
times you're paying for the name
sometimes you know they definitely the
quality it's definitely the last four
years but they're if you want something
to do if you wanted to go the extra mile
for the extra features on a Dewalt
you're going to pay a lot more money so
if you're just a DIY guy and a
professional these will definitely give
it-- so that's this one let's see if I
can find the specs on here should I look
that up beforehand I don't even know if
the stickers are going to be on here I
beat the crap out of this thing
I use it for every every single project
that I do like
can't tell you or you know explain how
much I use this thing
it's the most valuable tool one of the
most valuable tools that I own so
definitely go out and get a miter saw
look around you know do do your research
get a good one and it'll last you good
time it'll save you a lot of money a lot
of time and effort cutting things and
then I'm going to do another video on
the table saw
that goes with this some of the neat
features that I liked about this again
most of them come with this that what
makes this unique I guess not much there
isn't much the features that I did like
about this design okay so it has a
locking mechanism so it can be locked in
this position it's a basically
contractors miter saw so when you lock
it in you can use this as a carry handle
and move around your job site it's not
very heavy it's nice and small and
compact you can fit it definitely in a
smaller shop so this might be something
like what you want to get the things I
don't like about it it only does regular
miter cuts which means it goes like this
it is kind of limited in here we can see
how far it gets about 50 degree 50 and
one of those strokes that's as far as it
goes
that angle maybe if it could go this way
that would be nice I'm definitely gonna
upgrade I want to get one definitely a
compound miter saw which does cuts like
this you know you can vary the angle
like that instead of just like this and
then I want to get one
since I'm spending the money dual right
the first time
get a sliding one so that you can do
wider pieces in here because sometimes
if the piece goes beyond where this
blade meets the level with that plane
it's not going to cut it and then you
have to like flip it over and make
another cut it's not gonna be as nice so
yeah definitely on one of these that's
all for this video hope you guys enjoyed
it I hope you learned something some
considerations this good tool I
recommend not necessarily this one but
this one is definitely a good quality
one if you you know if you see it out
there
don't don't pass it up I enjoyed this
tool
enjoying it and I feel like I'm gonna
get more years out of it when I upgrade
it I'll probably keep it unless you know
I can find somebody else that once it I
might sell it to recoup some of the
money I spend on the nicer one I might
give it away to my friend who's building
his shop or I might turn it into a chop
saw just put a you know metal cutting
blade on there and just use it for basic
metal cuts so those are my options for
that again that's about it end of the
video you guys have an outstanding day
don't forget to Like share and subscribe
I love you guys I'm out
