we're out here with chance he is a now
nine week old german shepherd and he is
one weekend
to our puppy board and train program and
we're working obviously still on a
little bit of engagement
yes but also coming into heel position
and healing a little bit
pick up the pace for him
[Music]
chance come here
chance come here yes
yes
yes
yes
free free
boy cat squad
it's hard on your back but gotta gotta
do it
just developing that muscle memory that
hanging out on my left hand side good
things happen
yes
yes really looking for that pretty sit
not the sloppy sit
yes pretty sit and then we're gonna go
for a pretty down which is his butt has
to kick
out take it back
yes gotta work on that some more
yes beautiful beautiful beautiful
really good
chance come here
choking on
chance come here
teach them to shoot behind me on those
chance come here
oh look at you beat me to it
hey buddy take a little break
yes
boy buddy so
we'll keep going it's getting a little
hot out so we'll take him back inside
uh to keep his uh spirits up so we can
get cooked out here
but spin him around so you can he's just
a super cute dog
looking for some free ones on the floor
he's still hungry
but that's it i mean that's what a
typical training session would look like
the beginning of one
uh young puppies like this you really
shouldn't train more than 15 minutes max
obviously depends how hungry they are
how old they are their attention span
it's hot out right now he's still doing
good
but i don't like to train them to the
very brink of them
you know getting tired and wanting to
check out
we got to work on the um the down from a
sit
yeah that's what it needs to look like
so to get a pretty down from a set you
actually
have to get them to stand right before
they down so i'll show you what that
looks like
not the best example we'll try again
same with the sit yes they must go into
a stand before they go into a uh
into the next one yeah
yes that's a pretty one
yes yes
good boy looking real pretty just
cleaning up those mechanics
yeah buddy good boy free
he's still really uh in tune free i
don't think his eyesight's really where
it needs to be yet so young
yes you can also
when they're small like this work heel
position from a kneel
yes
look for that sit yes let's get that
pretty down
yeah buddy and what by pretty mean i
want him
to stay right here in line with me see
how we kick back on that sit dirty sit
we don't pay for that one
we can expect more from him yes we want
a nice pretty
sit now look where his shoulders are and
i'm gonna try to get him in a pretty
down shoulder stay in the same place
oh yeah oh yeah
good boy looking good all right that
