welcome to our google workspace tutorial
in today's video i'm going to walk you
through step by step how to create a
business email using google workspace
to get started you just need to go to
workspace.google.com or if you want to
support our channel i'll put a link down
below in the description to our referral
link

with that said let's get started okay
here we are at workspace.google.com to
get started we could obviously just
click get start here
or in the upper right hand corner i just
want to show you a couple of things
first
so if you click on what's included
you're going to see all the different
applications that are included so
obviously
gmail for business me chat google docs
sheets
all those other applications run by
google the other thing i want to show
you
really quickly is the pricing so
sometimes when i've tried to create
an account here just from the main home
page it didn't let me actually choose
which plan that i wanted i had to adjust
that later so if you're on the pricing
page you can choose specifically which
of the plans you want to get started
with the main difference between most of
them
are participants for video meetings
cloud storage and then as you upgrade
it'll actually let you
record the meetings as well and so
that's basically what you're going to
see
vary for the most part across the
different plans we're just going to set
up the business starter account today
but the process is basically the same no
matter which one you choose so we'll
click on get started then they want to
know
what the name of your business is so
let's just call it
jj's business my name is jeffrey john
that's where jj comes from and let's say
for now
it is just me but obviously if you had a
larger team you could select that what
country you're in
next and then it wants to know your name
so
let's fill in and then put in another
and then go to next okay so does your
business have a domain so no i need one
and google will sell you one
normally we buy our domains from
namecheap if you're interested in
checking that out i'll put a link down
below in the description
if you say yes i have one i can use you
can click here and then you add hey what
is the domain name that you own
so we're gonna hook up jjthalen.com
today
and then next and then use this domain
to set up the account
your domain yes everything good
and then click next educate your users
we'll send users information about
google workspace f blah blah
we do not need this no thank you and
then how you'll sign in so you're
going to create at least the first your
email address basically
at your domain so let's just say jj and
then let's choose a password
okay i am not a robot
and do we see palm trees in some of
these pictures
that is not a palm tree and then click
on verify
okay verified not a robot agree and
continue
and do i want to save not right here
okay so review your payment plan and try
google workspace free for 14 days so you
can see here i already chose a plan
we have the business starter for six
dollars per month
so good with that then click on next
review and checkout so here i need to
add
all of my contact information and pay
okay so from here oh that's
good you're not going to be charged
anything for the first two weeks if
you're not happy with this
you just need to go in and cancel before
the 14 day trial ends
all right great your google workspaces
account has been created ready to set up
your business account and get
this email working with gmail i am ready
for that let's get going to the
setup okay so welcome to the admin
console i'm going to click
next okay so now let's follow along with
this to get our gmail account set up for
jjthalen.com so we want to click on
first is activate
it says here you may have to wait an
actual hour for
the domain to actually be connected to
so if you have any issues here sometimes
it's just a matter of waiting
okay and so you can see sign in to your
domain host to activate gmail
and so it knows that i purchased this
from godaddy most of the domains we end
up getting from
namecheap but i want to try this out for
this tutorial with godaddy the nice
thing with godaddy is you can just sign
in to your
godaddy account to activate and
basically tell google that hey this is
my domain
so sign in to activate and then
basically i'm signed in to my godaddy
account
and i just need to connect here so
this verification process may take five
minutes we're going to just sit here
and see how it goes so right now we're
activating gmail
what's basically happening here is
google needs to know that i own the
domain
and whatever the domain provider there's
some different records that need to be
added there
so that basically it routes all of your
emails through google
the thing is if your process wasn't
quite this easy if it was asking you to
do things like
update dns records or text files or
anything like that
in the previous version of the tutorial
that i did
basically when this used to be called g
suite i walked through this
with a namecheap domain so if you are
not getting the same thing and it's a
little bit confusing right now check out
the video up above right here
with that said gmail is activated for
jjthalen.com so if you purchase
the domain with godaddy the process
is super easy i imagine if you bought
your domain from google
and probably some others you know you'll
just basically sign into your account
and it'll basically connect
automatically like just happened here so
the next thing is if i want to add team
members
it's pretty easy to set up right here
just by clicking create
this is just gonna be me so i'm gonna
skip this for now
okay so i think we're pretty much good
to go gmail is activated verified the
domain
i don't need to add new users there's a
bunch of special offers for you
and so if i wanted to send a test email
let's click on that and see what happens
i
test to this welcome to
google workspace send okay and so test
sent and it'll send me
then it gives me something down here to
say go to gmail
let's do it oh no went away so obviously
what you can do here
uh to sign in to your newly created
account if you just go to
mail.google.com
it will prompt you to sign in so
this and by the way this is the admin
for your account so
if you ever need to make any changes add
new people change your plans whatever
just go to
admin.google.com sign in and it's a
pretty easy process
so for example if i just click here and
go to the home
it's basically gonna look something like
this so you have users dashboards
billings account settings
you can basically go through and make
any modifications to your account
right here also this is where you need
to go if you want to
cancel during the trial or at any time
you can go into billing
and go through the process of
cancellation but we want to check out
if my test email worked so
mail.google.com
okay and so i'm already signed in you
can see right here this is jj at
jjthalen.com
and i have three emails okay
let's chat about it okay so there's
obviously a bunch of stuff here so you
can see a couple minutes later we
received the test email that i had sent
from the admin panel
and we're all set up you have your
account with google workspace
and your business email with gmail if
