all right welcome back to another video
guys hope you guys are awesome
so today we're going to be talking about
samples how to make samples how to make
sample packs
i do a lot with sample packs i give away
a ton of free samples if you guys don't
follow me on instagram and i actually
just released a guitars only sample pack
so

super dope guitar melodies uh hopefully
it helps you guys with your production
give you some inspiration but that's
enough talking from me
let's get into how to make some samples
and sample packs uh yeah let's go
so like i said we're gonna be talking
about samples today uh we're gonna make
a couple samples and then i'm gonna
actually show you guys how i upload my
samples to a website
give them away for free and then also
sell them in packs so
let's get into that i think i want to
start with making a guitar sample just
because
it's my favorite kind of sample to make
and that's what people really like these
days so let's do that
all right so a lot of these tips that i
give even like though i'm playing on the
guitar
it will still be helpful if you're
making like a melody on the piano
okay so with any sample like if i don't
have like a clear-cut idea
i'll try to start simple right i'll try
to start with like either some chords uh
so for this guitar melody i'm really
just gonna start with four notes i feel
like that's kind of a good basis to
start line maybe like a bass line
um but yeah let's start with that

cool all right that works all right so
i'm gonna bring in another guitar now
and maybe this time like
i play on top of that

turn up the reaver maybe a little bit on
the lead
[Music]
let's say that's our sample uh so what i
would do to combine these i would
highlight them i'd bounce them in place
so now listen we're going to have a pop
we're going to have a pop at the end of
this i already know because we cut the
audio so
what you do when you have a little bit
of a click like i just said you're going
to want to put a fade in

and you hear that little pop you guys
might not be able to hear it but there's
a little click
you don't want that in somebody's
samples you don't want that every time
they loop
the sampler to have that so i always go
in and i put the smallest
tiniest fade and i always like just kind
of play the very end of it again
so make sure it just cuts clean and then
like so if i wanted to if i really
wanted to like spice this up
i could like even get into some more
effects like i could
i could come over here and i could like
maybe i go
nikki romero maybe i go kickstart and
this is just going to give it like a
pulse effect like
just kind of cool usually with guitar i
just leave them clean so people can mess
with them themselves
let's see what this sounds like
so that's actually kind of cool i
actually really like that so if i had
that sample now i would just
export that and put it into a file
usually if i have a file
um usually if i have a sample pack i'll
just kind of put it on my desktop so
here's the guitars only sample pack
and i will just export all my samples to
that
little file i actually like how this
turned out so we can have the normal one

or we can have a processed one and you
could put both in your pack honestly

both are pretty dope so i kind of like
the normal one better but
you can put both in there and then
that's more samples you can give away
okay so i was getting ready to do a
bunch of stuff but i remember
let's let's use the same method let's
use like the start simple method
um so i'm literally just gonna do four
notes again
five notes
maybe six notes all right let's just

okay simple little piano melody not even
any chords in it
literally just singular notes
and quite honestly it's not a bad sample
right if you wanted to make that your
sample you could
but let's add like a top higher part
piano

all right so we have like two different
piano melodies
okay so and another thing that you
actually could do if you wanted to
you can give out midi files as well so
to do that really you just would file
export all tracks all midi tracks as a
midi file so
you can really like build up these packs
with midi files
process samples non-processed samples
stems of samples you could even separate
those two pianos
and give them away as stems so yeah
that's basically how i make samples if

like i said i just dropped a guitar pack
but so what i do after that
i use shopify for my
sample pack website so if you go to my
shopify website it looks like this very
clean looking
um if you click samples here all my

which are all free samples like you see
i have 76 of them you guys know who
icarus pizza is but
he does all my sample pack art i pay him
to make my sample pack art because i'm
just not very good at it
so yeah this is kind of like what
shopify looks like and all of us and
obviously we can preview it
um and this is what the pack kind of
looks like on my store
um i like shopify because it's it's easy
it's clean
um it's really not that hard to make
there is like a monthly subscription but
you can kind of do it
like you get a 30 day free trial if you
want to try to start a sample pack
