now clutter and having to edit too all
of that is really tough now when you say
to me well you can you can also make
some money that's motivation right there
exactly
so why not start to sell your stuff what
you've done is you have to sell a lot of
your stuff online because you're in the
middle of a move exactly tell me about
your clutter like a move right and what
you need what you don't need yes what
you don't want yes so we've got a
picture of and thank you for bringing
this picture because now we all feel a
little bit better we all live in this
sort of you know situation maybe a
basement it could be your garage an
attic absolutely you're sitting on a
goldmine people I'm serious there's
money in there you will be surprised you
can find paper clips online like online
shopping for a long time and I've seen
what works and what doesn't work and
that's why we're chatting today it's
important okay let's talk about what
actually works then so let's say you're
trying to sell your clothing okay what
are the questions that might come to
mind and what's the right way to do it
first things first with clothing you see
a lot of people online they put the
outfit on or the coat or whatever it is
and they take a selfie and say who wants
my dress or who wants my jacket yeah
that is a good approach if you want to
do something really quick but if you
want to maximize the dollar I highly
recommend taking your coats your dresses
and putting it on something even if it's
just a chair because it takes away that
feeling of it being used we all know it
is used but when you see somebody
standing in it you're like come buy this
you're like oh I'm not so sure right so
I recommend zipping it over a chair just
trying to get the best possible
presentation of that item and you will
get more money it's all about trying to
get the most amount of money I mean I
was just telling you in the commercial
break that we just put our pond on line
we moved into a new house and there was
a pond and fish and all this equipment
and we were like we cannot deal with
this right now
yeah we have a three year old one year
old and so it to save on labor costs and
pond removal we posted online and sure
enough a farmer came dug out the pond
took all the plants everything we didn't
have to do
thing people love stuff you can sell a
pond a pond someone came Wow okay so I
like that tip about the clothing and I
would have been the one doing it the
wrong way but when you think about it
you see somebody in the dress and all
you're thinking of is the deodorant like
yeah absolutely
okay good you try to get the most bang
for your buck yeah let's talk about
other items how you need to sell them
what are the best tactics you can use
okay so some pretty Universal tips I
just brought in these examples because
clothing and cars and baby items are
like the top three things that go online
they go quickly okay so one thing I did
bring in this shoe box here because if
you have young children and you're
buying a lot of things toys jumpers and
you know they're gonna grow out of them
a lot of people now were actually
keeping the packaging because if you can
include it in the box and kind of pack
it up and clean it up you'll get so much
more money right in the headline in your
ad you want to say like excellent use
condition you want to say what it is
don't get kitschy and catchy like Oh fun
sister bunk bed or something you want to
say Oh
twin bunk excellent condition put that
in the headline so people who are
searching it see it but then in the
actual body of the ad you want to
include lots of different keywords and
the reason I wanted to bring this up is
because we don't all have the same
vocabulary so if you're selling your car
for example and you just say you know a
2013 car well in the ad use the word
Auto automobile vehicle the make of it
the brand so other people who are
searching to buy that item can find okay
use all the keywords use specific
adjectives so people know exactly what
they're getting and also dimensions
right oh yes you need to know there's
been so many people who have bought
things and they thought it was you know
like a big lamp and it's a teeny tiny in
them oh yes because you can't really
tell based on a photograph so include
dimensions and that's a great tip in
your in the body of your post no matter
what you're using try to anticipate what
the questions are gonna be and answer
them in your post yes because if
somebody has to go I wonder how big that
is doesn't have tear in it does the
zipper work they're gonna skip over it
and find somebody
she has answers in it absolutely mine is
about quick and is now okay
so what if you are selling jewelry is
that's a good way to showcase it because
I mean I honestly just pulled out a few
different things because you'll see here
a lot of people aren't going to have
these items this is great it's great a
little storm well that's right and if
you are planning to sell a lot of things
go to a store or something and the
eysies and make a display but if not
look at these you can use a candle
holder set your bracelet on it this is
just an empty stationery box you could
put your jewelry in here and set it up
baby items look around your house and
just prop things and take a picture and
lots of them be generous do close-ups
like for example even with jackets and
things like that people are going to
want to know what's the condition of the
zipper yes they are gonna want to see if
it is a brand what did the brand logos
look like are they in good condition I
always take an inside photo of the tag
in the back that shows the size because
you they can see the size they can see
the wear and tear is that dirty is their
makeup all of these things will sell
your stuff and it sounds like a lot of
work yeah but if you just take a day and
set it all up and do like a revolving
door here's all the things that we're
selling just take the photos write the
ads get it up and you will be very
surprised at the cash that you can bring
in ink so your kids can sell their stuff
oh my gosh especially the kids I mean
I'm happy you brought that up because
their stuff is barely touched and I know
that there are parents out there that
have the cute little dress and the Mary
Jane's and they never actually ended up
wearing it to church because they grew
too much and you never got them in the
dress and the cute shoes by the time
because they were too big so put all
that stuff back in the packaging and get
it out there online it's all in the prep
work so thanks for that you must have
made a killing girl well it isn't about
taking away from donating so you don't
get me wrong if you are going through
your belongings and you'll gently used
things that you you don't necessarily
want to bother selling definitely donate
yeah you can pull together some nicer
stuff branded stuff and and make some
money yeah we always say sorta like have
that donation pile always they also have
the cell whole pile you know if it's if
it's pristine text-align and you want to
go in that direction yes
the tips you spent the money in the
first place you might as well get some
back might as well
