I don't know about you but I hate
cleaning silver in fact most of what I
have that is silver that's not in some
kind of protective covering and case
that protects silver looks like this
because I just hate cleaning it no
matter what kind of creams and polishes
they come out with
I just hate doing it but I found a new
way to clean so that it comes out like
this and it's really easy and it doesn't
involve any messy cream so here's what
you're going to need you'll need a piece
of aluminum foil
you will need baking soda I'm going to
tell you how much so luckily I just won
another box and you'll also need boiling
water and the fourth thing you'll need
is some kind of container that fits the
piece that you want to clean it needs to
be submerged but here's the thing when
you add boiling water with baking soda
it creates this foam and goes all over
the place so the first time when I did
this small one I put it in a 9 by 13 pan
on my kitchen counter and it bubbled
over onto the counter down the cabinets
out of the floor yeah it was a mess so
I'm going to use something bigger this
time I'm using this been inside my my
sink because this fits inside the sink
now if it was warmer weather out I could
probably do this outside in a large
bucket but it's not warm outside right
now so let's get started and I'll show
you how to do this now we have my tub in
the sink and the piece of foil I'm going
to put the boiling water in first and
the amount of
baby so that you put in is about a half
a cup to a cup per gallon so the plate
I'm putting in is you know flat so I'm
gonna put the boiling water in first the
other thing I have with me is a pair of
tongs now watch what happens when I put
this in here see how high it goes this
time okay over too much and then I have
my plate and remember it looks like this
so I'm gonna turn it over first you can
put it in the water and it sinks and
then I'm going to speed this up because
you don't really it doesn't take very
long here my tongs now you see I put the
bottom side down first and that's
touching the aluminum foil and that's
gonna clean up really quickly some of
these things aren't going to clean off
by themselves or it quickly but I'm
going to use a scotch-brite scrubby pad
when it the water cools down or at least
when it's cool enough to handle and
scrub off the rest all right so I'm
gonna flip this over see what's
happening on the side and it's getting
there
but I'm not touching this water because
it's boiling hot
[Music]
off-camera I left this just a little bit
in the hot water and are still hot but I
want to show you if I take this scrubby
oh I can scrub off or wipe off even I
could even use a polishing cloth let me
flip it over very do this I'm still
dealing with the hand surgery this video
making so on this side again I wanna
it's coming off really nicely here I
actually want to wait till it's
completely cool though
and I need to think to make will do the
rest
showing you the results but again you
can use any kind of polishing cloth here
I'm getting some dark stuff off on my my
plastic scrubby I want to get into these
little nooks and crannies on the edges
but this works so nicely and I don't
have to deal with all those messy icky
creams and things nice huh
I know the sunlight is changing in the
room but this is the one that I just
cleaned that was so icky dirty and the
one in this hand this is the one so
isn't that an easy way to clean silver
with although that must oh my god so
