the
hi I'm Amy of a miracle floral and on
today's episode I want to talk a little
bit about how you pack your arrangements
for transport this is not a very sexy
topic but it's an incredibly important
one because we need to do most beautiful
work in our studios but unless we're
able to get it to the client or get it
to the event it can be very difficult to
have to get to a location and start
changing things and have flowers falling
out so it's really important that we
pack our Arrangements correctly and I
want to share with you some things I've
learned today so I'm going to give you
some ideas of how I pack my containers
and hopefully some of that will be
helpful to you so in terms of using
different types of styles of vases I
have a very low profile Vince here that
I'm going to show you how I would pack
I'm also going to show you how to pack a
little bit of a higher compote and then
how to also pack a slightly larger size
vase so this is a fairly common sense
but some of the things that I've picked
up along the way so I worked in a flower
shop a few years ago and the owner of
this flower shop used these really
useful IKEA bins you don't have to use
an Ikea bin but something that's load
and very strong is really helpful these
can also be busing bins if you have
access to those restaurant supply
warehouses sell them but anything that
you can just pick up by yourself without
needing tons and tons of help and the
bottom isn't going to cave out I find
that packing things in a little bit
smaller containers a lot easier to
manage so what I do is I put the vase
inside of the low profile vase inside of
the bin and what I do is take tissue
paper stronger paper I like to use brown
craft paper it's a little bit sturdier
so whatever you have in your studio I
always just kind of keep a roll of this
around in case I'm not a newspaper keep
in mind as well a newspaper can bleed so
if you have a very porous white vase I
have seen a transfer of ink before so be
mindful of that I just tend to prefer to
use a solid paper
and I like to make these kind of long
strips this is actually something you
can do ahead of time whoa get some
downtime and just have a big box of them
ready to go the reason why the strip's
are helpful is that instead of bunching
up pieces of paper folding the strip's
and creating these little bars really
allows you to get underneath the vase
and support the vase from sliding around
we don't want to smash paper around very
delicate flowers and if you design in a
very loose organic way you have a lot of
draping things and so really supporting
it from the bottom allows those things
to just kind of rest on top of the paper
rather than being smashed in so you can
easily get to arrangements in here if
you have smaller vases you can fit quite
a bit into one of these bins this is the
same technique I use on a larger vase
but I use quite a bit more paper I also
prefer to use something like a bubble
wrap because there's a lot more space in
it so I can get a lot more height if I
bunch up and roll up one of these pieces
and support that all the way around you
can easily get to compote vases in one
of these containers you just gently rest
them in there and then really tuck in a
lot of packing material down below and
that arrangement should not move around
if you have a slightly larger vase this
is a large urn very heavy I like to keep
a variety of taller boxes on hand and
again just like with flowers and you're
putting flowers in a vase I'm always
looking for something that's going to
come pretty close to that neck and still
support this so I can pack a lot of this
small boxes I can also lift it on my own
I'm not trying to take too many of them
but I could easily put two or three
Arrangements in here use that same
method of really pumping in tight down
here to paper and really keeping those
arrangements stable hope this
information has been helpful to you if
so of course please like the video share
it with your flower living friends and
of course don't forget to subscribe to
not miss out on any of this information
coming each and every week thanks again
so much for watching
