we are going to make some beautiful home
decor items using clear elmer's glue
up first we are going to fill this vase
with the clear glue the idea is we want
this to look like water
then we're going to add in some clear
and white decorative pebbles
now i'm going to grab some faux flowers
i chose these roses that have a few
leaves and some baby breath on them and
i trimmed them so that there are single
stem roses now i'm just going to stick
these into that glue
now what's nice is that this doesn't dry
right away so you've got some time to
really arrange these flowers exactly how
you want them you can move them around
make sure they're sticking in between
the stones
once you've got them arranged just right
set this aside and let it dry
now you have a permanent floral
arrangement that looks like it has these
water and stones in the bottom of it
this is going to look great in your home
next up we are going to grab a couple
glass mason jars and we are going to
tint these
so you're gonna grab a small dish and
you're gonna fill it with clear glue and
a little bit of water i used about two
tablespoons of glue and about one
tablespoon of water
then i'm going to drop in a little bit
of food coloring i want this to look
like a teal blue color so i'm adding a
few drops of blue and one drop of green
then stir it up until it's mixed really
well
now we want to coat the inside of the
jar so grab your mason jar make sure
it's nice and clean pour that dark blue
mixture into the jar and swirl it around
so it covers everything
once you've swirled it all around you
can dump the excess back into the
original container make sure you're
working on a covered surface because
this food coloring will stain your table
so i've got some paper down here
now we want to let this drip for a
little bit i'm just going to add some
popsicle sticks to the top of the dish
put the jar right on top of it let it
drip for about 10 minutes
once it's done dripping take a paper
towel wipe off any excess drips that are
around the rim of the jar then place
this upside down on a piece of parchment
paper and pop it in your oven at 175
for about 20 minutes
this is going to bake that coloring onto
the inside of the jar
after 20 minutes take it out turn it
right side up and let it cool completely
if after it's cooled you still see some
streaks you can put it back in the oven
for another 10 minutes
these jars make great decor around your
home just remember you they're not vases
you can't fill them with water but you
can definitely display some dried
flowers in them
for this project we are going to take
this glass standing frame here and make
some faux stained glass so i'm going to
take the piece of glass out and i'm
going to draw a grid of squares and
rectangles with black puffy paint i've
created a grid in pencil on a piece of
paper that i can put under the glass and
then just trace over it with the black
paint
when that's done i want to let that dry
completely so that's going to take an
hour or so
now to create the stained glass mixture
i'm going to use a little bit of clear
glue and a few drops of paint one drop
of paint will result in kind of a
clear
coloring more paint is going to be a
more opaque color you can also add a
little bit of water to this if you want
a more runny consistency
so on that piece of glass where we added
the puffy paint when it's completely dry
i'm just going to use a popsicle stick
and
transfer some of those beautiful blue
colors onto the glass you do not need
much this is going to spread out you
could use the popsicle stick or even a
paint brush just to spread it around a
little bit
but a little goes a long way because you
don't want this to run over the black
lines
once everything is done you can grab a
toothpick and go back and just pop any
of those bubbles that are in there if
you do have bubbles they will show up in
your final product then set this aside
and just let it be
once it's dry pop that glass back in the
frame set it up by a window and you have
a beautiful piece of faux stained glass
for your home
we are going to start this craft off
with two small canvases you could also
use medium or large ones depending on
where you want to go and hang this
have the two canvases almost touching
take a colored pencil and draw a half
circle on both canvases
use a bright colored pencil it will make
the next few steps a lot easier if you
do so
use the semi-circle as a guide and line
your ruler up with the point in the
semi-circle
draw lines of various lengths
i drew 12 lines in total on each piece
but you can draw more or less just make
sure to not overcrowd it
outline the semicircle with hot glue
first
you might want to go over it a few times
to give it more texture and also raise
it more
work on outlining any details in the
middle for the first canvas
since this one is going to be the moon
i'm just outlining the craters
follow as slowly as you can
for the lines that are branching off of
the semi-circles to try to get them as
straight as you possibly can
you might need to go over these lines at
least two times or possibly more to get
them raised a bit
the second canvas which is going to be a
sun needs some texture in the inner
portion
to create texture dot with your glue gun
rapidly
it might look a little messy now but
it'll look beautiful later
coat the canvas with an adhesive i am
using an acrylic medium as an adhesive
but you could always use glue or
anything like that
sprinkle sand on the top of the dampened
canvas
shake off any extra sand and fill in any
blank spots that are left behind let
this layer dry i chose sand for this
because it's going to give it a little
bit more texture plus also just make it
look a lot more like there's actual
rocks on here
take the canvases outside and spray
paint them
one black and one white
i kept them close to get a bit of
overspray on both black and white to
create a small gradient in the middle
paint over raised parts after the spray
paint is fully dried i am using a
metallic gold colored paint to really
make it pop but you can use any color
go slow you will have to fill in a lot
of textured areas
let this paint dry fully and then after
it is dried find a place to hang or put
them
i chose my mantel here and they look
absolutely beautiful
thank you for watching i will see you
next time bye
