all right hello there everybody invader
here
and we're going to go over
how to basically
import a vr chat 2.0 or 3.0 avatar
it sounds like it can be a little bit
crazy when some people open it up and
it looks really
like a mess it's not so hard
don't get me wrong i've been doing unity
for a while
but
let's just start with the basic to get
your avatar into unity
and go from there now i can't guarantee
this is going to work for all of you
because some of you are going to have
different styles of avatars getting them
from different places different creators
so sometimes you have to refer to the
creator themselves
look at the file that you got from them
usually the gumroad will tell you what
files you need but i'm going to show you
what most
probably about like 90 of
all avatars use these days
and when i import it i'm going to be
importing it here unedited so
you may even see some mess ups when i do
it
or something wrong with the avatar and
if so
we can go over that in another video i
may try to explain some here but at
least let's start with the first part
okay
so the first thing we need to do
um everybody say bye to baby yoda we're
gonna move on now
so
first thing we need to do
some of you may have already opened
unity that's fine
um and then usually you're gonna have
like a sample scene here something like
that it's gonna be in the corner uh and
but your project is called test or it's
gonna say new or something like that so
best thing for you to do because you
want to have a new project file for each
avatar the reason you do this is because
if you have all your avatars in the same
project and some of them use the same
shader or the same name of a shader or
even sometimes
one of them gets messed up you can mess
up all your avatars
so we're going to start from even the
beginning you may have unity hub
or you may have
unity already open or just unity itself
but either way in any one of them you go
file or create new it'll say like create
new project so we're going to do new
project they all open the same scene
here
it says new unity project and it says
the location it's going to save leave it
on 3d that's perfectly fine and then
we're going to just name this right now
for myself i'm going to name it for
test
video
upload okay
we're going to hit create now what this
is going to do
this is going to open up a new unity
an entire new unity
so it's gonna be
uh like a new project so in a minute
you'll close out the other unity project
in the background but we'll wait for the
new one to pop up uh if you're using the
unity hub then you wouldn't have a unity
file open and it would just open into
the window for you so this we're going
to just wait there's nothing you can do
here
don't click on anything don't freak out
just let it do its thing this is you're
going to learn very much in unity
there's a lot of waiting when it comes
to uploading or starting new files so
i'm just going to go ahead and close the
other window out so we only have this
new one here that we're working with
so
this is how
it works
with unity so you have an assets folder
down here in the bottom left this is
pretty much where well not pretty much
it is where everything goes for your
avatar
so
my way of importing there are two
different ways
you can either take the files you need
and drag them to the the blue asset here
or into this area here and then drag and
drop them in
i don't really like doing that myself
but it works but you have to do them in
a specific order or you will have
problems with the shaders or you'll have
problems with the bones or you'll have a
problem with the avatar period
so what i usually do is right click i do
import package
custom package
okay so that's right click on assets
import package and custom package
now from here
you've got a few things like now dynamic
bones
this cannot be
um
at least my version of it there might be
a version you have depending on where
you got your dynamic bones from
this cannot be just clicked on and
imported because it's not a unity file
so that you have to drag in
um
there's no way to
just by hitting open because all i'm
going to open is i'm going to keep going
deeper and deeper
into folders
so what we do here
is first of all you always start with
your sdk
so
this happens to be a 3.0 sdk avatar
um at least i believe it is
but i'm pretty sure it was so we're
going to go
the vrc sdk three this you have to get
from the vr chat website you go to
vrchat.com you log in with your vr chat
um
[Music]
account and then there'll be uh on the
left side it'll say downloads
and you can click on the
vrc sdk also the same thing goes for
unity that's how you get the unity file
because there is a correct unity file to
use and you cannot use any other unity
file
so
um
we're going to click on this we're going
to hit open now this is going to bring
up a screen again the waiting you're
just waiting for windows to pop up
it's going to show you everything that
it wants to import
now this is a new file so all these
should have checkboxes
sometimes if you're
in a file that already has certain parts
like maybe you'll upload the avatar
some of those boxes will be unchecked
because the file already exists you can
hit all but it still won't import unless
it's a different version i always hit
all just in case
and then import now this is waiting
sometimes this is quick depending on
what you're importing
depending on the speed of your pc i'm
using uh
my whole computer uses nvme like
high-speed drives so i mean i'm gonna
probably load as fast as some of you or
faster
but again this is just the time but i'm
gonna do it all in real time we're not
gonna just speed it up because everybody
gets a little confused and they're
always like it doesn't show everything
so i'm going to do it unedited it's
going to make it a little longer
i'll try to make chapters on the video
once it's done
take a swig of your favorite drink
and see like it looked like it was done
but it wasn't i i i know when it's done
because unity like if you click on it
sometimes
you get like a ding
or you can't really do anything in here
i just got the ding i just heard it
so
um
now it's done now i see how i can click
around so we're gonna go ahead you don't
do anything here because right now all
you've done is put the sdk in the in in
the computer
uh or on unity so now we're gonna go to
the next step
the way i prefer to do this in order
usually i prefer to put in the shaders
first
uh you have pyomi pro or pyomi tune
look these up on uh gumroad or look
these up online i'm not i'm actually not
sure if it isn't gumroad but uh one is
free
the other one you have to pay for there
are three there are three different uh
versions of pioneer shaders there's like
pyomi
i think tune which you get like free
i believe uh some of them come free
uh sometimes you have to
purchase it on the patreon then there's
a pro version and then there is like a
uh
i think there's like a patreon version
of it or something like that so either
way you're gonna put the uh i've
literally just purchased this stuff so
long ago and and been on the patreons or
been on the
uh stuff i don't really remember exactly
how
you know what the process is anymore
because they change from time to time
too so
all you do i always start with a shader
first i feel like the shaders are your
best bet to go um sometimes you can do
dynamic bones first but dynamic bones is
just what you need to have before the
avatar puts in that's really important
there
but always do your avatar last so we're
going to just import piami pro and i
like to do one package at a time
i've seen people do like where they
click everything and drag it over but
sometimes if a certain part gets
installed first
you can have issues because it overwrote
something or
it messed a file up so i just prefer to
do it this way
now this can take like i said
i think miami pro actually takes a bit
because there's a lot
involved with this this is a lot of
scripts this is a lot of files a lot of
textures images
uh sorry for the bent neck i'm just
leaning over um
so it can just be a lot of stuff
so you just got to let this finish
again it will sometimes blink it look
like it's done but it's not it's not
done until you can
literally move around in here and there
you go now it's done so now we're going
to import the next part again you just
same thing we've been doing every time
right click import package custom
package
and then we go to
uh now the
um
if you have dynamic penetration system
you can put that in uh this model does
not have the dynamic penetration so i
don't have to but i just want to show
you that you do have to get it if you
get an avatar with a dynamic pen system
that again is something you i've got in
mind on gumroad and then you get it
updates every time he makes a new
version this is currently the new
version at least
as of 1127 when i downloaded that
just type in ralliev or dynamic pen
you'll find it
um you can do it on google or gumroad
itself
now we got to put in the dynamic bones
now again if you remember earlier i told
you you can't just do that you can't
just um
uh open this and import it that way so
i'm gonna go
uh to the fi to the area
that this is
located in
um
open this in a new window
okay
so hold on here
okay so this is the dynamic bowl bone
folder so you got to take the actual
dynamic bone folder and you just click
drag it to the asset this is how you can
do the other files too you can just drag
them in dynamic bones is usually like
pretty instant it's just a folder so
after a few seconds it's done you don't
really get like that notification or
that that
thing that says it's done dynamic bones
is needed for all
vr chat pc avatar so if you're going to
upload it for the pc sign
you have to have dynamic bones
if you're doing a
android
which is the quest version of avatars
you don't need to put dynamic bone in
they don't use it it'll just delete it
on you anyway and you can't have them
there is like some dynamic bones people
are creating for quests
and they're creating their own system
but till then don't worry about that but
at least for all pc versions if you're
gonna even if you're gonna make a pc
side you have to put dynamic bones on
there or your avatar will just be stiff
not move or bend i don't know what it'll
do
so now next it's your avatar it's gonna
be whatever the name of your avatar is
you're gonna go open again and we right
clicked we did import
now this can take a while this depends
on how many additives are in your model
how much stuff is in it so see like
uh this one was a hannah quinn avatar it
already had the dynamic bone system in
it
so it's not letting me see even if i
click it's not let me put it in because
i already put it in so she was nice
enough to include that uh you can see
she's including a lot of other like
fixes and shaders and stuff like that so
some avatar creators will put everything
you need in there uh see there's other
shaders that were involved with it so a
lot of times if it doesn't tell you a
certain shader it's because that shader
already exists
now some shaders even need to be
imported afterwards because they break
and then you have to delete the old one
put the new one in but for most of the
time you won't have to worry about that
i think it's mainly the fur shaders are
having those issues i i from what i've
read so right now i'm importing
the avatar
this again can take a while it can be
really quick this habit looked like it
wasn't too crazy
um some people just go and they add like
300 different
things to the avatar in different
versions but still this is a very nice
avatar from what i've seen has a lot of
features
but it's pretty simple
um
we'll just wait for this to go
now in fyi this is an avatar i have not
uploaded to unity yet i have not
uploaded to vr chat yet it is a file
that is there
and so i i'm working with a first time
file just like you guys would be
and again this working all depends on if
i had all the right information now this
didn't come with a lot of information
because it was from the patreon i mean
from the um
nitro
uh system but a lot of times there you
can find the info either in the server
or on like the gumroad for that avatar
so again it's just importing all the
files that have to do with the avatar
this can take a while it's usually not
like i said very quick when you do an
import on the avatar sometimes go make a
sandwich go get a drink go to the
bathroom whatever you need to do
and you just see it go through each
thing and everything that's gonna
install and all the files and
just your basic
importing here
as of today it's december 2nd so i hope
everyone's getting ready for christmas i
know sometimes this can be a hard time
of the year
but
hope everyone has a good holiday
okay
so that finished now you're not gonna
see anything it's just gonna unless they
put it in the sample scene you're not
going to see anything
so there's usually a few things you can
do
first of all on the left side look for
the name of your avatar so i see it
right here says rainbow 3.0
and rainbow has an fbx it looks like
now if i go to prefabs
sometimes it will show you here like a
unity prefab or a um
like a scene you know or something like
that but this is just a sample scene so
usually it's inside so i don't see any
sample scenes or anything like that so
usually this is pretty easy
to put the avatar in
i think 3.0 might be the main file see
how it's all pink that means i'm missing
shaders so i uploaded 7.0 shaders so
from what i know of all of hannah coins
are 6.0 shaders so sometimes that's an
issue
um
you might run into and then you can
either just uninstall the shaders that
are there on reinstall the older
versions or just replace them it's
pretty simple the 3.1
looks like it's the file without shaders
which is usually like the original
prefab so it looks like 3.0 was the main
file so this is usually simple as
taking the uh
hold on it's going to freeze for a
second sometimes it does this
with like larger assets or larger
avatars it will
when you go to move it to a scene you
may get like a box where you can't do
anything or an error message
um but here we go so it's because it
doesn't have shaders so you can just
drag it into your own sample scene
if you want to um
see like see she was showing up there
now and see she's got like these little
trails you can just drop her into a
sample scene
so you can go over to her and then
you'll see the avatar
now like i said it used 6.0 i mean uh
yeah 6.0 material
so you get like an error message like
hidden eternal shader you can't hold on
let me uh turn off my guy real quick
uh so you can see that
uh okay so see how it says hidden
eternal error shader this is usually
when you're just using a shader that's
different than the ones originally
specified
so it's pretty simple to just go in
there change it to your especially if
you have 7.0 it's really nice you can
just switch it to pro and on all those
settings are going to come over
so
there's different areas there's like the
shirt to the avatar there's the legs
there's pants
and i don't need to go through every one
of these for you because you don't
actually need shaders to do your
uploading but you can see how really
simple and quick it is to just drop the
shaders in you see how it changes
usually you won't have to do this if you
have the correct pyomi uh shader
installed for that avatar most avatar
creators will tell you which version
they used uh what materials they used
and i can do it real quick because
again
if you are going to get pyomi and you
get like pro or tune you can use pro or
tune most of them will work the same if
you notice something doesn't look right
switch it to pro i mean switch it to
tuner pro and you'll see the difference
uh i'll actually go down the list and
change it it's not too much uh there are
going to be some that are like secondary
attachments but at least i can show you
the main avatar what she should look
like or your avatar should look like
when it's done
okay
that was like all the extra materials
there and then this is going to be like
the face
uh all you do is click you can do other
thing i'm doing it because i know how to
go into these areas
to put the avatars to find all the
shaders and i'll show you here what i
was doing
i just wanted to get it real quick set
up for you guys so you can see it
looking like it's supposed to uh its
hair is usually going to be separate
usually you can just click the areas
that you're not sure
i mean she must have white hair actually
looks like to me
yeah okay so
now you see the avatar right you got the
avatar in here
you got the way it looks um
i just right click by the way when you
want to move around and use the arrow
key i mean use your wasd like you're
playing a video game so right click with
your mouse
and you can move around and look at it
so
you got the avatar here right your
avatar is uploaded and if you have a
problem with your shaders you can click
on the left side it'll say all materials
all you have to do is find all the ones
that are pink in here
okay
switch them to pyomi
pro or tune if that's what your avatar
creator used
and then they'll all be fine now you
will see ones that come up as standard
these are usually the original fbx
without uh like the actual changes by
the avatar creator
uh like how it first imports it
and usually you can't do much to these
um
when they've come in standard like that
if your avatar was not created
uh for vr chat or pioneer shaders or
whatever shader pack you have they'll
say just standard a lot of the time
biomes usually turn pink
and tell you hidden some will come in
standard if you were using a model that
hasn't had initiators put on it yet like
something from a just a 3d file or model
so you're at this point now you have
your avatar you have your avatar in
we've imported it i've told you how to
import it i've even told you how to
change shaders if you want
or if you have to which happens fairly
often when
an avatar creator doesn't tell you what
shaders they used or you're you they're
using a much older one or you're using a
much older one
so now
you go to vr chat sdk
up here in the top left and you do show
control panel
my control panel is up high on my other
monitor so
here you will sign in right
i'll probably just blink this window out
maybe or something like that but uh
you'll at least see that you type in
your you have to have a vr chat account
and you have to have a vr chat account
that is i think it's 20 hours or more in
order to upload when you do you sign in
and it will tell you allowed to publish
worlds allow to publish avatars
now you'll go to the builder screen
in here you will have some errors
um if you can build and publish that
means everything's fine
ignore these 90 of the time ignore these
um a lot of the one you'll see here is
where the a material in the avatar is
using custom shader keywords you hit
auto fix
it just brings this up and if there is a
way to fix this
um
i don't really
mess with it it never messes me up at
all all the hundreds of avatars i've
uploaded all these red errors these are
not
errors now these are just basically
telling you that you have failed
to achieve what vr chat considers a
standard uh which
let me tell you is
it's basically telling you this is what
you can use
if you want your avatar to not cause a
lot of lag
but at the same time they
really are out of line with what they're
telling you like most avatars are like
garbage if they're under these numbers
which is most quest avatars
in order to be green should i say or
green avatars
but um it's just saying that you're over
the poly count or you have too many um
audio
sources or material slots uh it says you
have too many dynamic bones you know all
this other stuff females are all female
avatars are always going to go over the
dynamic bone count because of their hair
or anybody with long hair usually
or
avatars that have a lot of jigglys
that will also cause it
but we're at the point now where we can
just hit build
all right because that button is
highlighted if it's not highlighted then
you're going to have
like
octagon looking
uh is it octagon or hex i think it's
octagon like a stop sign with the same
exclamation point in the middle those
are problems you need to fix if it has
an auto fix button usually it's like you
change the shader or something like that
and usually it can fix it for you or
change the material
other than that
usually you can click on these
um or not click on these here usually
they'll show up in your console
and in your console you can click on the
actual errors because these aren't real
errors again these are just telling us
that you've
you've not met what they consider the
the standard um so you click you would
click on them and then go back to your
project and it usually shows you where
the error is or you can read it'll say
at the bottom like
this is a missing file independency
usually you can just delete the folder
if it's something you don't need or
something that like
is something you downloaded but it all
depends on the issue that's a whole
other video so we're just going to build
and publish for windows
this would say build or publish for
quest if you're doing a quest avatar
which means you need to install the sdk
uh not the sdk you need to download the
android version that's again a whole
other video we're doing just how to get
it on pc
so build and publish for windows now
this is going to
spin the wheel now you'll get an error
sometimes you can get errors after this
point
it will basically stop wheel spinning
and then you'll have an error message
down here and you'll hear an error sound
in your headphones or speakers
this will usually sometimes spin for a
while uh after a few moments you'll
either see a box appear that starts
building the avatar and constructing it
into what unity i mean to what vr chat
files are basically made of because
everything in unity is just the unity
files
it smushes it down
into uh vr chat files so that your
avatar is not
1.9 gigs big or 500 megabytes you know
knocks it down to 10 or 15 and
compresses everything and builds it all
together
so right now we're just at a waiting
part
um
i may fast forward this for you guys
only up to the point where it starts
building it
i don't want to make this i really don't
want to make this a hugely long video
but i don't want to skip parts uh i'll
probably just put little um
markers in the video to show you where
you can go to get to the next step
uh if you've already gotten past me at a
certain point
and usually you can't do anything like
if it's doing this it's because it's
it's building the file a lot of times
this is the first time you've uploaded
the file expect this to be a long thing
some avatars will instantly go
some avatars won't depending on the hard
drive you have it on sometimes it won't
like i keep my files um on my onedrive
now my onedrive is on a
nvme drive
but sometimes it likes to interfere and
it makes me wait a little bit longer
that's why i said i may
um
just skip a part there and show you
right now we can
bring back
my guy here
because you don't need to see the bottom
corner anymore
so uh what do you think chewbacca you
think you're going to be able to do this
i think he i think he thinks you guys
can do it i think chewie thinks you guys
can uh get this don't shrug your
shoulders what do you think yeah he
thinks you got it he thinks you guys can
do it
i'm just on the scene to waste time at
this point
so
let's go check in with baby yoda baby
yoda's over here hanging out right being
a good baby owner you better be
all right
so and sometimes what happens is too
this is what i'll uh i'll explain here
sometimes uh you may even get the
spinning wheel and it is building it in
the background because if you click on
another window
uh it tends to sometimes put the little
constructor windows in the background
where it's like
it's zooming across with the blue line
saying uh this file that file this file
that file and you just can't do anything
at that point you just have to wait it
out
so
we'll see here in a minute
again i'm not seeing it doing anything
so it's probably just processing it in
the background i probably just
uh at one point clicking on something
for you guys it may have expanded it
into the background
[Music]
oh
oh we got a little
we got something popped up see i i still
i couldn't move this file oh there it is
uh i can see it doing something
i thought i cloned my closed my prime
window out earlier i have two unity
files open so that might be the other
issue
i really shouldn't have my unit my other
unity file open i can close him out
so that might have been making it a
little slower but it's definitely
processing in the background because you
can sometimes look down here oh my guy's
in the way again for you guys uh you can
look down here and you can see your
unity uh icon and it will start like
going like green left to right green
left to right that's usually because
it's processing files
so
it's definitely doing its thing right
now in the background
not all avatars are this long but always
the first time is longer than all the
others because it's the first time it's
building the avatar
for vr chat and a lot of times all it
will do is re it'll look for the file
differences and just change the
differences when you build it or publish
it
because it does keep this in it like a
temp file i think it may even keep it in
the project file i'm not sure but i've
seen where there's a temp file for unity
oh there we go see this is the
now we're seeing the
actual
process going left and right and back
and forth and stuff like that
and as you can see a lot of it's the
shaders
again and let me tell you this if you
think you messed up on this part
don't even bother to hit that cancel
button it takes forever you're going to
see me lagging right now my guy's going
to lag out because sometimes it doesn't
matter
how good your computer is
this part takes a takes up a lot i'm
running on a 9900k i got a 2080 super
overclock i got 32 gigs of ram
uh so any lag is just the fact that
uh that unity is just this is what it
does
my voice could have even been lagging
sometimes it'll do that if you're in vr
chat and trying to upload at the same
time
oh
man getting tired even doing this
process
this will be like the
101 avatar now i mean to be honest if
we're going to go by builds and uploads
i'm probably like in the thousands i
have like seven worlds and i have like
at least 50 plus avatars on my account
uh
a lot were from back in the vrc mod days
when like everything was just garbage
avatars
and then i just
probably the last two years maybe three
started getting what two years we
started really getting into like other
avatars this avatar you see here is
actually an avatar i customized from the
vrc mod days
uh and i just customized it a lot and
this is it working in a unity program
called v magic mirror
that allows you to use your avatars once
they're converted
for
this purpose
uh basically your usual v tuber
so i do stream so that's why i already
have this guy set up
but hey
what's the best thing to help you but a
vr chat avatar huh
but yeah this guy looked nothing like
this customize his shirt and customizing
uh shirts and
like
designs aren't too hard depending on the
avatar and how the
material
is created so
if you have like if you can work in
paint 3d or paint.net or adobe photoshop
or some of those other programs
you can usually change the logos and
certain things on your
on your avatars material and stuff like
that it's really not that rough that's
just comes down to how creative are you
and can you be
and if you're a digital artist you
obviously have a hands up on all of us
there's a lot of people in the
communities that will help out
where you can find the materials
um
if you need other help like
how to if you're trying to add things
like clothing on your avatars and stuff
like that now let me explain this to you
ninety percent of the time there's a way
harder thing to do you're talking about
usually blender stuff
uh because it has to be done in blender
first you know and then brought over
into unity unless there's something i'm
missing on that or something i mean some
things are like you can put horns on
your character you can put ears on them
you can do certain things where it
doesn't actually have to be sculpted
around the avatar like things that stand
on the outside but if you have like a
shirt you're trying to put on an avatar
unless that that shirt is made to fit
the same body style um then you're
usually going to have to
have somebody do it in blender and uh
fit it to your avatar connect it to the
to the joints and stuff like that
from what i'm aware
almost done almost done here we go
compiling compressing it's doing more
again make a sandwich
just go do something like that
go to the bathroom say hi to your family
actually leave your room for five
minutes you know get some sunlight go
swimming
put up some christmas decorations
whatever time of the year it is for you
call your boyfriend or girlfriend tell
him you won't be around for a while
because you're working in unity
so it's always something
uh
just gonna lay back
relax
enjoy the show
or
you know we could just
you know
go crazy on the next wing ah
my god it's all around no i'm coming
back
all right
oh okay good good i didn't want to miss
this okay so now your vr chat sdk is
going to be in front of this just move
it to the side or
you move it to another window if you
have one so i'm just going to move it
over here to the side because now what
you have to do actually does it go
behind if you click now so you got to
move it over
so now you're going to get this window
where you upload the avatar and it asks
you for the avatar's name and stuff like
that
now
uh sometimes it comes zoomed in you
can't see it uh so never click this play
button this play button will bring you
back and you'll have to redo the builder
from scratch again um you can hit pause
that's a whole nother thing to create a
background image if you want to do pause
but nothing you do on the screen can fix
your avatar you have to hit the play
button start from scratch again to do
the build control panel once you get to
this it says new avatar enter the name
enter the description
so we're just gonna say
hannah
test
avatar
right
description
this is a test
avatar
i am uploading
i like it's so small
for a video um it's not always this
small you can actually do like um this
is on free aspect i think you can change
it to um it's not the aspect it says
maximize on play so if we hit pause and
we hit pause again then it will come
back and be bigger this will probably
help you guys out i'm on an ultra wide
monitor so i do apologize for how
small some of the things will look um
but i can't do much about that
um
so here you would
click on if it has nudity or sexuality
realistic violence blood gore other nsfw
to be honest
i don't really click those buttons
because you're not supposed to have
certain avatars anyway in vrchat uh if
you're uploading it privately for
yourself then don't worry about it
um if you're uploading an avatar that is
specifically designed for you
and is one you purchased
that is not free to give out or from a
nitro or anything you have to keep it
private
uh avatar creators do not like the fact
and i would understand why they put in a
lot of hard work
clicking the public button because then
it allows people to clone it off of you
uh it also allows hackers a lot easier
to get the to
clone you because they say hey well it's
set or public whether you're sharing it
or not they see it as an avatar maybe
they could get in a world or something
so try to click keep it on private most
of the time you can always change that
later on if you need to or want to
then you say the above information is
accurate and i have the rights to upload
this content to vr chat you then click
upload now you're going to get another
loading screen
now this one usually goes a little
faster because all it's doing is
uploading the file this depends ninety
percent of the time on your internet i
have like 100 gigabit internet speed so
usually my uploads go pretty fast is
there are still some things that has to
set and change
and upload
but once this process is done
we're at the end of it now once the
process is done then all you have to do
is open it up in vr chat
and
your file it will be there and it will
tell you when it's done it will say
congratulations your file is uploaded
your avatar okay so oh look at this it
says haha i see i forgot to go over this
earlier so now i have to start from the
beginning uh it says update complete
launch vr chat to see your content
now what you have to do here
uh it didn't really i don't think it
really uploaded it
and this is the thing i always forget
that some avatars have a problem with is
you have to go on the avatar itself on
the right side here you will see all
these options and script and stuff
it says
pipeline manager script blueprint id
some avatars come with these
attached to see this this blueprint this
is probably for the creator when they
first created it uh some don't attach it
some aren't able to detach it because
they want to do their own updates to the
file and they don't want to detach it
and make a new one so you just hit
detach
this will blank out the blueprint id
don't type anything in there you don't
have to you simply go to vrchat sdk
again show control panel and now you
build and publish for windows now this
might be quicker uh i will definitely
yeah see it's it's already pushed it
past this point it pretty much already
built the file
uh for us earlier
so it knows the file the only thing that
changed was the blueprint id
so most of the time that's why i always
say don't cancel this just let this
process finish at least
and then you can go from there
yeah you can see down here it said
duplicate key error collection vr chat
so it was saying it was on somebody's
account already basically and that's
just because the way the avatar was uh
first uh when it was created so
this here we're gonna have to put the
name in and all that stuff again because
we did not uh
we didn't actually get the upload so
we're just going to say vr chat or we're
going to say hannah
test
avatar
and then we're going to say description
you don't have to put anything in in
this you do have to name it but test
avatar
or video
the above information is correct i
already went over all that for you
earlier
upload the asset bundle
and it's actually good you got to see
that error message because that is one
of the things that a lot of people get
stuck on
uh so always detach it unless it's your
now don't detach that if you've already
uploaded the avatar
because then you're gonna have two
copies of the same avatar
unless you want that other one to always
stay that way
and you never want to edit it again
unless you copy you can copy down your
uh avatar keys and keep those in a file
and say the name
or you can just create
um
make a copy and paste of the folder
and then that's when you detach if
you're trying to make a different
version of that same avatar
but you can also do that in the same
folder but again you run issues so it
says update is complete launch vr chat
to see your updated content
that is it
you are done you have officially
uploaded a vr chat avatar so you saw me
do it live without any editing you know
what it's like now to go through it
you even saw where like i came in and
there were no shaders on the avatar so
it's not that hard uh the only problems
you would ever have is if um
an avatar creator or the avatar you got
a lot of times people are getting these
ripped avatars and these ripped avatars
do not contain all the shaders and
there's no information to help you so if
you've got a ripped avatar and you're
having problems don't bother to ask for
help because nine percent of time we
can't help you with that because we
don't even know what shader packages
were included what extra ones because
most
avatar creators will include
in their package like she did certain
shaders
and then anything else that it was an
extra shader you need to then
uh it would be in the description
on their gum road or whatever else that
you need to have but most of the time
like i said pyomi
uh most avatar creators will tell you
what pyomi version you should have
so this was obviously like i told you a
6.0 from what i'm aware of so that's why
it was saying hidden shader and all it
took was a few clicks and we put all the
all the pink balls
into colors just by going to the pioneer
shader so if you have any other
questions feel free to you know go to
any server that you bought the avatar
from there are help channels uh this is
a hannah quinn model so if you have
hannah queen avatars you can go into
that channel i can help you and others
in there that like to help out
[Music]
so
that's the basics of getting an avatar
into unity and uploading it beyond that
when it comes to color changing and
stuff like that
that could be a whole other video if i
decide to go that route i'm just doing
this one because this seems to be the
biggest issue most people have is how do
i get
vr chat avatars even into vr chats this
is how you start if you want to just use
a model that already exists
okay
thanks everybody for watching hope you
have a great day don't forget to like
