hey guys Andrew here and I'm going to
tell you why I will never be using
Weebly ever again
Weebly is a website building platform
they say it's a simple way that you can
end up creating a website you don't use
coding it's drag-and-drop all that fun
stuff however I'm not going to use them
ever because I am NOT a fan whatsoever
and let me tell you why I started an ice
cream shop it's been an awesome fun
stressful cool experience I've loved at
all with that I wanted to be able to
take orders online so we also serve food
we have paninis salads soups along with
all of our different ice creams and I
wanted people to be able to see our food
menu and say awesome I'm hungry I want
to order a panini but I don't
necessarily want to stand and wait in
line I just wanted to be ready once I
get there makes sense
a lot of other restaurants do that so I
was looking for alternative ways to do
that online so I could have a web site
where people could jump on it check out
that menu place an order and then I can
get that order when I'm in the store
make it and then what's that person
comes to pick up their order it's
already ready they can just come to the
bar I can hand it to them everything is
done I did some different research I
found some different ways and methods to
do that however I use square for the
point-of-sale system for my ice cream
shop with that Square for some reason
has a partnership where you can use
Weebly to create an online store and
that is the only way that I found that
you can sync Square to an online store
there's no other way to do that that
I've been able to find and I'm not a
coder
I like to think I'm somewhat tech savvy
but definitely do not know enough code
to do anything except maybe code my own
email signature yeah after finding out
about the partnership between square and
wheelie I said alright fine we can do
that I've never really used Weebly
before so I'm gonna give it a try I did
a bunch of research and I even reached
out to their customer service team to
make sure that if I do sign up for their
plan I can connect to the square and
then I will be able to have online
orders placed on the website but then
also I need to make sure that I can get
notified when a new order comes in so
that I can see okay sweet some of the
order of this panini I have to go over
and make it now and
I have it ready for them to pick up
makes sense if you have an online store
you have to have a way to get notified
so I reached out to their customer
service to do all of my due diligence to
make sure that I was making the right
decision for toped ice cream so that
everything would go smoothly and right
off the bat I talked to their customer
service team and they said sweet you can
absolutely get text or email
notifications when a customer places an
order which was awesome because that's
exactly what I needed and what you're
looking at right now is actually my
interaction with a customer service
representative with a name of Renee
after I communicated with Renee she said
that yep you can get some notifications
either text or email I was like sweet
that makes sense all I need to do is
once an order is placed have that text
notification set up I'll get a
smartphone I'll just have it here on the
counter and then I'll get a text message
notification I'll set up a cool ding or
something and then once I hear that ding
I'll know awesome and online orders come
through I need to check it out so that I
can go make that sandwich that salad
that soup whatever the order is based
off my interaction with Renee I went out
and purchased the subscription plan to
Weebly and then connected it to my
Square account so that I can do those
online orders through the online store
as well as went out and bought an iPhone
so that we had a smartphone that one I
could take pictures of some of our cool
creations that we share them on social
but as well as get those notifications
when an online order is placed so that
we can make that order now here is the
mind-blowing part I did all of that made
all of those purchases got everything
set up built a cool little website and
then I went to set up the notifications
but I couldn't really find a way to do
that so I reached out again to their
customer service team and the message
that I got back after sending hey I've
got all my online store things set up
talked with one of your customer service
reps they said I could set up a
notification how would I be able to do
that so that I can get that text so that
I can make sure that when an online
orders placed I can start making it now
this time I get a message from someone
named Melissa telling me that oh you
actually cannot do that that is not a
feature that we have at this time are
you freaking kidding me one of their
customer service representatives
yes we have that feature then the next
one says oh we actually don't have that
feature well you know what sucks I just
spent three hundred dollars between a
Weebly subscription and an iPhone just
so that I could do exactly what that one
customer service rep said and then the
next one says I can't even do it so I
just blew $300 for no reason because of
that first person so that was my
communication with Melissa that you just
saw now here's my response of course
very frustrated and telling her yo I
absolutely need to have this feature so
that I can get those online orders
because if you don't have a notification
system how am I supposed to know that I
have an order online that I need to make
and then after that email that I sent I
received one more back from Melissa as
you can see in this email nothing
special telling me sorry that I was
misinformed then explains another
feature that I did not ask about and
don't care about because it does not
solve the problem that I'm looking to
solve as well as maybe you should just
make a recommendation to the forum so
that we can continue to update our
features there was nothing helpful
whatsoever in that email communication
at all I needed to have a solution to
the problem that I was having that
initially Weebly said they had and now
their other customer service agent the
one and that essentially was supposed to
be there to fix this and to provide a
solution has no solution whatsoever and
did not even offer to figure out a
solution to not even offer to let me
talk to a manager or somebody that can
actually help solve the situation so
yeah now I just have a weekly
subscription that I can't even get
notifications for for my ice cream store
and it is just terrible so that is why I
will never use Weebly for a website
builder ever again what a terrible
customer service experience well guys if
you ever are in Ohio in Marion
specifically that is where topped ice
cream is it's my little ice cream shop
we actually do some fun stuff of course
we have the panini salads ice cream
soups all that good stuff but the really
cool thing is we actually have the name
topped because that's how we serve our
ice cream you start by picking a base
it's some type of baked good we have
waffle tacos and if it's a baked good we
warm it up with your ice
on top toppings and sauces and all the
good stuff so yeah make sure if you're
in Ohio driving through kind of the
Columbus Ohio area swing by tops and we
can bond over how frustrating my
interaction was with Wheeling and have
some good ice cream at the same time
well thanks for hanging out guys and if
you are thinking about using Weebly at
least for an online store for your ice
cream shop I would recommend against
that because of the experience that I
just had maybe go for something like
square space or Wix or something like
that well I hope you guys have a
