thousand dollars on youtube in the first

what it's like to run a business as a
youtuber and influencer myself as always

let's just jump right into it
disclaimer the strategies i am teaching
in this video are simply what have
worked for me and what has worked for my
students i know there are so many other
strategies out there and other
approaches and i'm not saying that my
way is the only way these are just
simply strategies i know work because
i've seen them work multiple times for
myself and others i feel like with this
video we're dealing with the whole what
came first the chicken or the egg thing
you want to grow but you also want to
make money but which one do you focus on
first i think for this video i want to
focus on making money for the first half
because i've noticed when you actually
have an idea of how you want to make
money from the very beginning you're
able to monetize and grow a lot quicker
money here are the 11 most common income
streams for you to choose from whether
you're an influencer
entrepreneur business owner affiliate
marketing selling digital products
physical products online courses
coaching offering a service membership
platform monetization brand
collaborations ugc or user generated
content and nfts non-fungible tokens now
i want you to think about where you want
to be in the next 12 months and then
within the next five years what does
your social media platform look like how
are you monetizing it pick one or two of
these income streams and start setting
them up today now if you're somebody who
is starting from zero or a lower number
of followers or maybe you have no idea
which income stream would make the most
sense for you and your business these
are the four income streams that i
believe have the easiest barrier to
entry affiliate marketing selling
digital products offering a service and
platform monetization all four of these
streams you can start working on today
with affiliate links you can put them in
the highlight section on your instagram
since everyone has access to the link
sticker now that's a great way to keep
it hosted on your page you can also
create a link in bio with affiliate
links and link all of your favorite
products there put that link on
instagram on tick tock and even any
items that you mentioned in your youtube
video put those affiliate links in your
youtube descriptions i have an entire
video that teaches you how to get
started with affiliate marketing what
platforms to sign up with and setting up
all the basics so if that is where you

you could also create digital products
like an ebook templates filters mini
courses video trainings a cheat sheet
worksheet guides digital products can be
as simple as you want them to be and i
make all of my digital products in canva
i'll save them as a pdf and then i'll
just sell them on my website if you
don't have a website you can use the
same strategies that i just mentioned
previously there are some link and bio
tools that allow you to upload your
digital products to their platform and
sell directly through them without
needing a website a tool that i use is
called direct me or direct dot me that's
my personal favorite link in bio tool
it's free and they allow you to sell
directly through their platform when you
have that all set up you can put links
to these digital downloadables or
digital products and put them in your
instagram highlights again link in bio
have a place for all of your income
streams linked out and mention them in
your youtube videos if you are selling
digital products feel free to talk about
them naturally in your youtube videos on
your instagram story not in a way to
sell but just talk about them and always
put them in your youtube description
next option is offering a service you
can have people schedule a free
consultation call with you to see if
they would be good fit i use calendly to
have people book calls that match my
availability and you can offer coaching
services social media engagement caption
writing graphic design anything that you
feel like you are pretty good at and
you're pretty fluent at you could have
people book a call with you or schedule
for you to do that service for them and
then with platform monetization i know
some of you are thinking
don't you have to have a certain number
of followers to get monetized
yes yes you do
so why did you say i could start this
thing today well think about it every
time you post you get one video closer
to monetizing so even though you're not
monetized right now by creating content
you're inviting monetization to come to
your door quicker so no maybe you can't
earn money from this today like the
other three options i mentioned but you
can post a tick tock video you can post
to reels you can script your youtube
video today each of those actions will
get you one step closer to platform
monetization if you're still like um
i have no idea how i want to make money
then i recommend that your first step
should be to create an email list that
offers some sort of freebie actually
that goes for anybody watching this
video if you don't have an email list
get that set up the easiest way to grow
your email list is to offer a free gift
or a free resource to your followers and
that's where you'll direct people to
while you grow again i also have a full
video that teaches this step by step
setting it up picking your freebie so
you could watch that when you feel cold
so why are we setting up our email list
or income streams before we start
growing let me tell you why i had a
student who came to me when she had 2
300 followers she knew someday she
wanted to be a coach but she didn't have
the proper certifications quite yet to
offer coaching so what we did was create
a freebie that was directed to the type
of people that she wanted to coach and
over the next three months she ended up
gaining over 30 000 followers on
instagram and grew her email list to
over five thousand people those five
thousand people were all people who
downloaded her freebie and how did she
get them onto her email list
just by having her freebie mentioned in
her bio she didn't do any sort of salesy
running ads thing just as she grew in
her bio she said download this free
resource it was a free macro cheat sheet
if i remember correctly because she went
to offer like fitness coaching but she
wasn't certified yet so it said download
the free macro cheat sheet start at 2
300 followers we created the freebie
first and then when she grew to 30 000
followers passively without even trying
her email list naturally grew to fit 5
000 people because that
cheat sheet was exactly what her target
audience needed then after getting her
certification she was able to email all
5 000 of those people to let them know
that she was gonna start coaching
opportunities and as soon as she opened
it up all of the spots were filled in
less than a week and she ended up
putting up her one month's notice at
work she was working coaching full-time
because of her email list and instagram
growth in less than a year of us working
together this is the power of having an
email list first or the power of having
some sort of income stream created first
before you start growing is it a need to
have no but if you want to start making
money quicker start with the money maker
first before we jump into growth tips
since we're on the topic of money i want

growth if you want to grow fast there
are two content strategies that you can
hone in on know what you want to be
known for or who you want to reach if
you can identify both great but i know
some people might only be able to
identify or answer one of those
questions now why is this important if
you know what you want to be known for
then simply start making videos like
that now like if you're someone who
wants to review starbucks drinks or
donuts from your city do that be known
for that you don't have to wait to start
creating that sort of content if you
don't know what you want to be known for
there isn't really anything you want to
be known for maybe you know what your
followers will look like in the next
year or five years what do you want your
followers to look like when i first
started posting to instagram i had no
idea how to niche down i didn't want to
niche down because i was
multi-passionate and i couldn't pick
just one thing so instead i asked myself
who do i want to reach who do i want to
follow me and why would they want to
follow me at that time my answer was
simple i wanted to reach women and i
wanted to inspire them or help make
their life easier somehow i wasn't a mom
so it wasn't in that aspect i just
wanted to inspire other women and help
them make their life easier all i knew
was who i wanted to reach and that is
more than enough information to create a
solid content strategy we're gonna go
deeper into this in a second but first i
need to answer this question which is
what type of content and topics do you
focus on to grow fast the first content
type will depend on the platform you're
trying to grow on then the topics will
cater to this idea of search friendly
content so for instagram we know that
they're pushing reels so post reels to
give you a little bit more help if
you're scrolling through the reels tab
and you notice this little icon pop up
that means that this is an audio that is
trending or about to be trending hop on
the trend for potentially more reach if
your goal is to grow on youtube and you
enjoy creating long-form video content
really hone in on making sure those are
search optimized if you're already
making short form videos and you want to
grow on youtube post youtube shorts i
know of a lot of creators who have grown
their youtube account to over 500 000
subscribers in less than a year from
using shorts alone then for tick tock
tick tock makes it so easy to find
trending hashtags and audios because
they literally list it on the discover
page for you so you can hop on trends
like that which is a great short-term
strategy to kick-start your growth and
then for finding specific topics on
tick-tock i like to go to the search bar
type in my specific industry for content
ideas and when you do this and scroll
tick tock will also show you
recommendations of what other people are
searching for in that industry now
speaking of finding topic ideas of like
what to talk about to find what topics
that make the most sense for you we're
going to go back to the questions i
asked in the beginning of the section
what do you want to be known for and who
do you want to reach if you want to be
known as a fitness coach look up your
industry on search engines pinterest
google google trends youtube this is
where you can see what people are
currently talking about in your industry
and then you can make videos on that
when it comes to who you want to reach
ask yourself what are their behaviors
what are they looking up on search
engines what do they feel like they
might need help with right now what do
they enjoy watching some other tools
that are really helpful are

tubebuddy and keywords everywhere i'll
link all of these resources below as
well but my top two favorites right now
are tubebuddy and keywords everywhere
tubebuddy is such a great resource for
youtubers it is so cost effective i
think if you have under 1 000
subscribers it's 4.50 a month and this
helps tell you the keywords that are
being searched for when you go on
youtube it'll it'll give you suggestions
keywords everywhere the payment is a
little bit different so i think you buy
a bundle of searches and at once i
bought the cheapest one and that
cheapest bundle lasted me a year because
i only turned the extension on whenever
i was using it so basically i go to
youtube i type in an idea that i have or
topic idea that i have and it's going to
tell me how many people are searching
for that thing every month if something
has a high search volume per month i
know that is something people are really
looking into and i could create content
around that topic and it doesn't have to
just be on youtube you could use that as
a starting point to tell you what people
are searching for and then create
content on tick tock answering those
questions on instagram answering those
questions even youtube answer the public
tubebuddy and keywords everywhere help
with content research for any platform
you're trying to grow on believe it or
not this simple way of coming up with
content ideas is part of something
called your seo strategy yep that scary
phrase where after someone says it you
tune out everything they're about to say
because all of it sounds too
intimidating for you
you don't do that just just me i'm the
only one that does that
can't be i feel like everyone over
complicates seo or maybe when they're
teaching it it sounds over complicated
or even if you're unfamiliar with seo
you just assume it's this big scary tech
thing when in reality it's not that bad
youtube tik tok and instagram all use
seo logic to find content to put on the
explore page and in your feeds and on
your homepage and all the places it's
not just for seo on your website and
blog posts like every social media
platform uses some sort of seo strategy
or
algorithm so when you use search engines
that are literally saying hey these
topics are trending people are searching
for these answers you put yourself at a
huge advantage and then just just real
quick i just want to kind of touch on
this because it's not like
a huge deal but again this is like a
tips and tricks video so i will mention
it and that is by using relevant
hashtags
i'm not saying obsessed over hashtags
please don't hashtags are not
your entire strategy i have an entire
video here that talks about the updated
hashtag
thing
instagram hashtags for 2022 so you can
watch that hashtags are not
make it or break it all or nothing but
they are a great tool to help categorize
your profile and your account for these
platforms when i was doing my tick tock
challenge where i posted for 30 days i
used hashtags not in a way to grow but
because i wanted to tell tick tock hey
my account is hashtag influencer tips my
account is hashtag
for influencers right influencer 101
business tips this is what this is how
you can categorize my account so you can
push my content to the right people so
using hashtags as a way to categorize
your content puts yourself at a huge
huge advantage because you're able to
tell these platforms hey if i'm a
business account
and your algorithm knows what type of
users
like to digest business tips hello i'm
here i'm a business account i give
business tips use me
to to to talk to those people use me and
my content and push my content to those
people because you know the algorithm
knows users behaviors better than we do
so if we could categorize ourselves it's
gonna make it a lot easier for them to
understand the type of content we're
creating okay so we've talked about how
you can get your business set up so that
you could start making more money as you
grow and we've talked about what type of
content you can create to help you grow
but what about content that helps you
make money
yeah if you made it to this part of the
video comment the phrase started from
the bottom now we're here because i just
know that y'all are about to explode
your brands and when you come back to
this video a year from now you're gonna
be like dang millie you were right you
were right so all right content that
makes you money it's a good idea to have
a mix of content you want growth content
which is what we just talked about this
is content that is for the people you
want to reach for your target audience
you know this will help you grow because
it's crafted specifically to attract
their attention you have nurture content
which we didn't talk about but this is
content for the people who already
follow you you don't have to convince
them to follow you again they already
support you so it's mostly interactive
engaging and answering their questions
of course there's
self-gratifying content which sounds a
little
naughty but maybe i should come up with
another name for it i don't know
self-gratifying content this is content
that you are just having fun with you
love it maybe it isn't always related to
your industry but it just makes you
happy
keep it up and then there's money making
content this is the content that will
direct people to one of your income
streams a lot of people get nervous
creating this type of content because
they immediately think oh shoe i have to
sell i don't want to sell i hate selling
i hate being sold too it doesn't got to
be like that this content doesn't have
to look like what you think selling
looks like ask yourself
which income stream do you want to
direct people to think about it got it
then ask yourself how can i give more
value or information to my target
audience about this topic here are some
money-making examples that aren't the
traditional selling halls or hall
content if one of the income streams
that you want to grow is affiliate
marketing or affiliate income make haul
videos a good example of this is this
tick tock user hauls with kb simply by
doing amazon hauls alone she's gained
over a hundred thousand followers on
tick tock for this specific account she
has other accounts but this one is her
hall account and her income stream is
through affiliate marketing everything
that she talks about on her page she
links as an affiliate link on her amazon
storefront which generates her monthly
income none of these videos are saying
help me make money i'm selling to you
it's simply her having fun sharing her
favorite products with her followers in
a specific niche and
people love it we love it i love it i
follow her i love to see the best amazon
gym outfits you know i gotta i need some
good gym attire so
if her goal is to increase affiliate
marketing sales a great way to do that
is by providing value of the topic of
her influencer of her affiliate
marketing another example is through
review videos we have this tick tock
user here at madison ray hildreth and
madison is a fitness coach a health
coach she has over 100 000 followers and
her income stream that she wants to
increase could be getting more clients
so how is she going to do that well she
wants to first provide value to those
clients and one way to do that she does
starbucks review videos she creates like
macro friendly low calorie delicious
starbucks drinks she puts them on her
page for free and she's like hey here's
a 50 calorie starbucks drink that tastes
like reese's
that's yummy here's how you order it
free value and because that is catered
to her specific audience and it's just
it's just review videos she's not
selling anything but people follow her
for that content and then they start to
like her and then they get to know her
and her other content they're like wow
not only does she give great macro
friendly tips but she also does fitness
tips and then over time those followers
tend to trust her and over time they
will book and become clients of hers
genius review videos
another example is how to content for
example this video you're watching right
now hi hello this is a how-to video and
yes i do have ways that i could sell
to you in this video i could say buy
this digital product join my course do
do do you know my first thought instead
of trying to sell to someone i want to
first deliver value i think okay let's
say i want people to sign up for my
instagram course eventually down the
line right how can i create free value
teaching about instagram so that people
will be like dang her tips are good
she knows her stuff and then you binge
my youtube channel and you're like wow i
really like her youtube videos imagine
what paying for something would be like
and how much more value that could be
right so i'm not immediately going hey
sign up for my course but by me teaching
for free and giving generously the
knowledge that i have it creates a sense
of trust with my community and that's
all it's about i'm not saying you can't
mention your products you can absolutely
create a reel that says this is how to
do this if you want more help buy my
pitch templates you know like you can
absolutely do those call to actions
these are just options for those who
maybe aren't comfortable with those
direct sales call to actions y'all i
could keep talking i could talk up a
