hey Terrance Chris from a nerds role I'm
doing doing wall is now a good time I'm
here to answer any questions that you
might have to be honest my first kind of
beginning of searching for this I have a
natural lifestyle business
brick-and-mortar but online as well and
I've never really invested in SEO or
really done much about that because we
kind of relied on our first order and so
I just want to start to explore
expanding a little bit so I don't live
far and I jar by your spot on game-pod
so I just thought I would reach out just
to see what that would look like kind of
pretty much it wonderful do you have a
current website up that I can take a
look at
how long have you been in business
my family has a cottage and we just had
like if it's a called help us it was
like this would like to hunt and then
I'm sitting on Harvard Street in 2014
and then I know on the bigger location
on College Street and so kind of like a
bit of a passive part of us of our
business is having the website for
people to see and you know we do get
some orders but Zachary not where it
could be right are you a phony current
statistics at all yeah I think the the
were statistic itself scares a lot of
people but what I try to teach people is
to look at like two to three very
important numbers just to make sure that
you're you're growing and generating
traffic
I pulled the stats right now on your
website and you've just had the best
month that you've ever had online
meaning the most traffic that you've
ever generated from Google itself
website past year Shopify which is needs
help and then we've been doing blogs and
like little big links like the basic are
you shipping product worldwide or is
there a certain target that you're
trying to reach
okay well last month you got 955 visits
to your website organically people are
typing in your company name and that's
where the far majority of your online
users are coming from so like your
biggest terms are
those are the five words that are
generating the most traffic were which
are all sort of loosely based over
around your company name which is great
people are looking for you what we sort
of target is those people that have
never heard of you before looking for
the type of product that you sell and
then finding you so it's a huge huge
industry it's good you're not starting
from scratch the type of work that we do
is completely custom
so normally somebody contacts us knowing
that they want to generate more traffic
to their website we look at their
current site we look at their
competition your competition's website
and sort of reverse engineer and try to
figure out how we can get you more
traffic everything that we do is factual
based on actual stats so there's no
presumptions or presuming that when we
do something right it's going to work
it's going to work we do month to month
so there's no long term contract if we
don't allow you in month one there's no
need for you to stay with us a month two
it's it's like that always and forever
there's no penalty to leave us as for
what we would do and how much it would
cost the cost comes down to you it's
always the most difficult question but
we have to ask the client for a budget
as to how much money you would like to
put into the campaign what I do tell
clients is everything's done in Toronto
in-house and it's not a different like
the person that works on a ten thousand
dollar per month strategy here is the
same one that works at a five hundred
dollar strategy so the quality of the
work itself remains the same but it's up
to the client to sort of tell us what
they're looking to spend and then based
on that budget we put together a custom
strategy that's going to get you real
result real results based on your
competition the amount of time this are
located is doubled so what I tell
someone that once again the quality of
the work remains the same so somebody
that pays 500 a month versus somebody
that paid less for example fifteen
hundred a month you'll get to the spot
that you want to three times faster that
being said I I don't want to sound like
a sales person right any amount of money
is better than no money towards SEO any
amount of money money like any any
budget at all when when talking about
SEO is better than nothing right off the
bat and then when to 500 a month just
for a bit would not do any better or
yeah most definitely
yeah because then we can finish the jump
start right away it wouldn't take two
months it would take probably three days
so you'd see results a lot quicker and
it's sort of like the bootcamp if you if
you sort of pictured it as I'm a
personal trainer it's the bootcamp to
get you in shape and get you ready for
an actual month to month strategy so
what what it would do is we'd review
your website look at stats like how much
time people are spending on your site
where are they bouncing like why are
they leaving we'd recommend changes we'd
actually make the changes to your
website stylistically the website would
remain the same you wouldn't see any big
changes but such as like the URL
structure the image is what we call h1
headers or just implementing the
keywords that you want to rank for
throughout your site but also finding
out how to get the average person to
your call to action whatever that might
be sooner and easier so we would give
you a complete breakdown of actual stats
on your website
that's probably what I would do is see
the jump start and then start with with
500 month and like obviously if
everything is playing great and there's
more money and I understand that like
reinvesting that back because that's
important so for sure we understand your
return on investment is is the single
most important and that's sort of why
we've had the strategy of months month
since we started is just to really wow
clients the first time you ask a client
for money it's always the most difficult
thing in the world but once you start
showing results it becomes a lot easier
so we just like to start the
relationship and wow you and that's what
we're here for
so all we would need from you would put
an invoice together submit it to you and
then we would ask you two to three
simple questions such as name two
competitors and give us a list of
keywords that you want to rank for any
strategy we always start with keywords
so we'd give you a document with
statistics and I'd walk you through it
over the phone so we we actually talk
about the strategy it takes about 15
minutes the the payment is required and
we need login and password for your
website we would never make any changes
or go into your website without you
knowing
normally we duplicate a page so it's a
hidden page so you can see the changes
and you approve them before we make that
page live but I would put all those
steps into an email and we provide that
to you so for example let's use your
home page currently right now on the
image itself the only text says happy
2020 New Year's time for you so when
Google sees that as this is what's
called your hero picture hero image the
text that you overlap on the hero is the
single most important text on your
website from a Google standpoint they're
not seeing the quality of your photos so
they're presuming that your website is
about happy 2020 New Year's so
incorporating the actual keywords that
you want to rank for in the proper
places so as per
what those keywords are I'm not sure
without actually pulling the stats but
we would offer change and the wording
should be larger see it's a fine line
what most business owners tell me it's
like style is everything right they want
to keep the look within their their
brand what I saw that talk to the client
about is that's very important I
understand but it's also important to
follow Google's guidelines in ranking so
it's up to us to sort of recommend what
works best and it's up to you to say yes
or no or somewhere in between but that's
what we're we're here for so as we
scroll down it says bestsellers in a
bolder text Google looks at bestsellers
and has no ideas at a book a movie what
exactly is it because there's no
keywords being used anywhere so that
type of thing we would look at how long
people are spending on the actual page
and the goal is to keep people longer
and have them visit more often so that
could be maybe recommending you to put a
spotlight maybe the people that work for
you can once a month or once every two
weeks highlight a different product that
changes with maybe a quote or a little
write-up as pertaining to why they like
that product at this time of year for
example that gives you you know more
updates to the homepage your website
which is hugely important and it also
allows us to incorporate keywords which
you'll rank for it could include a
saying that let's put 10 products
instead of 5 products for bestsellers
and actually title that section
it could mean let's add a testimonial to
the homepage there's a lot of white
space on the page itself but I'm not
seeing any keywords at all that you want
to rank for and that's the reason why or
the only reason why you're ranking for
your your actual business name and not
the products or the type of products
that you're selling so those those type
of things yeah yeah well the exciting
thing is like when you make these
changes what we do is take a screenshot
of what you're currently ranking for the
moment we start and then you're watching
it we're watching it in real
so once a day every 24 hours we get an
email sent to us from our stats package
showing where you were and where you're
at and when we start showing clients
that hey by simply adding a what we call
a h1 header to your hero image you know
you've got 300 extra visitors per month
is that something you want to
incorporate throughout your website and
you know when you're getting the traffic
it's easier to understand why it's
important to do such a thing a call the
