hi everyone welcome back to my channel
my name is tina m payne i am the nurse
helping other nurses launch grow and
scale their medical uniform company
so that they can build wealth as well
and live a life of freedom okay
so today's topic is going to be around
startup startup cost i get so many
questions from you guys asking about how
much does it cost to actually
start this scrubs business right
so
that is going to first
be determined by
which business model you have selected
right so we always talk about
researching first what you want to do
and why you want to do it
so
if you're doing online a mobile truck
or a brick and mortar then your cost is
going to be different okay
now i will tell you right now having a
brick and mortar store is going to cost
you the most so i'm going to start with
that
because so many people think that oh i
can just go get her space and then i'll
be fine however there is a lot to
filling up a brick and mortar space with
uniforms okay you're gonna need quite a
bit of capital okay it's absolutely
possible and doable you just have to
plan for it you just have to obtain that
capital up front right
so
basically what you want to keep in mind
when you're getting a brick and mortar
store is that square footage
is key one of the big keys okay so the
more space you have the more you're
gonna have to fill it up okay so
typically when you are getting a new
manufacturer and an account those
accounts are gonna run you
i would say between two thousand to ten
thousand to open up one account okay so
if you have a storefront you're going to
probably be spending
at least 50 to 60 000
on inventory if you're brand brand new
okay now
you don't necessarily always have to
spend that amount up front a lot of
times manufacturers will give you a net
30 account um but you want to be
prepared
for that amount of money okay
um so at least
start writing that down that if i want
to store i need to know how much i'm
going to need to fill it up because you
you don't want to have an empty store
okay so that's part one of what you'll
need in a storefront
next you're going to need fixtures like
racks in different displays how much are
those so those can range in price right
so um some of the companies that i've
used are
specialty store
uline granger different places like that
in even amazon okay so one rack could
cost you about two hundred dollars so
depending on how many racks you're gonna
need in your store that's gonna add up
okay so i can't give you an exact cost
because that is going to depend on the
amount of space you have right
um so then the next couple of things are
going to be your register your counters
your utilities your rents right so all
in all um i would say for a store front
owner if you're brand spanking new
you are gonna have to probably get
around a hundred thousand dollars at
least for your store okay
um just to be competitive and there's a
lot that goes into that
but just so you kind of have an idea 100
to 150 000 is kind of where you would
want to be with funding right
okay tina you know you're probably
saying okay tina i don't have that um
but you could get it you know there's
some strategies out there definitely can
get it but if you're like me when i
first started i only had like 500
when i first started my business i
literally had hardly no money and i had
no guidance
no mentor no coach
um to help guide me through what i
needed to do right
but as an online store you could start
off with maybe you know 5 000 and up
okay again you still have to get those
manufacturer accounts and those are
still the prices for getting inventory
you may not need as many accounts when
you're first starting a couple like two
to four
i mean it's plenty two to four accounts
is plenty for an online scrub store so i
would say plan to have about
at least two to five thousand when it
comes to
uniforms for your for your online
scrub store or mobile you know you can
do this with mobile as well okay
so let's see we're at about 5 000 for
scrubs then you want to make sure you
have all your legalities paid for so
registering your business
trademarking your business okay
if you learn nothing from this video
make sure you trademark your name of
your business
please trademark your name okay that can
cost you anywhere from 700 to 1500
depending on if you use an attorney or
if you do it yourself okay i highly
recommend getting an attorney to
trademark
anything that you do just fyi okay
so with that being said we have our
scrubs we have our legalities
also your branding marketing logo things
of that nature your marketing materials
could run you between a thousand to
three thousand dollars when you're first
getting started depending on you know
how you know resourceful you are um this
is also including your website and
website development
so
three five so about ten thousand okay
for startup
now again you don't need all this money
on day one it's just so that you can
plan ahead um now when it comes to
funding your business that'll be in
another video okay i do help people kind
of sort through how to get funding for
their business because honestly that's
going to be one of your first things you
want to do
you're going to need capital okay so i
don't want you getting out here like i
was in the beginning with a 500
trying to buy stuff
no
and penny pension don't do that okay
i've been in business almost five years
now i've learned a lot so now that's why
i'm able to share with you guys what to
do and what not to do right

some of the things that you're gonna
have to purchase um in a range of what
you're gonna need as far as funding is
