hello everybody in this video join me as
we look at what kind of house you can
purchase in costa rica for
125 000
for that we are joined by brooke bishop
a real estate agent that specializes in
the central valley areas of grecia
narango and san ramon this particular
property is located in sarchi
sarcia is most recognized for the
manufacture of the famous costa rican ox
carts which are a national symbol due to
the important role that they played in
coffee production in the area
in the center starchi you're going to
find many souvenir shops that specialize
in wooden furniture and souvenirs
sarchi is located about to 45 minutes
from the san jose international airport
hey hi brooke uh we're here in sarchi
once again with our good friend brooke
and
basically the idea of this video is what
can you get in sarchi for 125 thousand
dollars and this is a house that's just
sold for that price so brooke you wanna
tell us a little bit about the house
yes um five minutes driving time to
downtown sarchi
uh we're in kai bamboo sarchi actually
has um their streets are named with
signs and everything which is a little
unusual for the little towns here in
costa rica
this is a concrete black
home so it's very well constructed it
has hot water throughout
and
this was actually purchased
semi-furnished so it's completely fenced
in
and it's a really nice neighborhood what
do we see in the background this is
stuff chi can you point out and give us
a little bit of scoop of what we're
seeing yes um we're looking west and so
we can see
much of starchi and then beyond that
it's narongo um it's a little bit hazy
today if it wasn't we could see san
ramon um so you'll get great sunsets
here sarchi is a smaller sized town it
has two grocery stores three banks a
little farmer's market
and one of the best frame shops that
i've found around sarchia is very
agricultural
lots of
small farms full of coffee
a lot of people have a cow or even the
ox as this is where the ox carts were
fixed in the times when the coffee was
taken to the coast to be exported in the
axe cards they would stop by sarchi and
and get the wheels fixed or
um whatever might have happened to the
ox-cart coming from the coffee fields
yeah i see from uh very typical here if
we look over there these are all you see
all the banana trees and those were
always used as shade for the coffee so
they intermingle the coffee with a
banana and so this is a very
uh heavy coffee cultural area right yes
and also um woodworking uh some of the
best furniture in costa rica comes from
starchy most of the furniture in this
house is right from sarchi
very good quality not terribly expensive
furniture that'll last you the rest of
your life
and the next question would be okay
brooke what um what are the property
taxes per year on this house and tell us
a little bit about what utilities could
cost to keep this uh running okay this
house uh probably pays about 300 a year
actually probably less than that um for
the municipal taxes on here internet we
have fiber optic with colby which is uh
the esa company and you can get
different packages with that but for
about a hundred
megas you should pay 30 000 colonies or
45 or so 50 a month um electric should
be about
25 000 colonies maybe 30 so 50 a month
and water is roughly 10 a month so
utilities are very inexpensive okay okay
so yeah we have that all up uh that's a
pretty inexpensive monthly
tab to live in this house in costa rica
yeah once you buy the house things are
pretty inexpensive to maintain
well as you can see there are affordable
options available in costa rica
depending on the area of the country
that you want to live in i want to thank
brooke for that property tour and i will
include her contact information in the
video link description
