00:57dollars and this is a house that's just

00:59sold for that price so brooke you wanna

01:00tell us a little bit about the house

01:02yes um five minutes driving time to

01:05downtown sarchi

01:07uh we're in kai bamboo sarchi actually

01:09has um their streets are named with

01:11signs and everything which is a little

01:13unusual for the little towns here in

01:15costa rica

01:16this is a concrete black

01:18home so it's very well constructed it

01:21has hot water throughout

01:24and

01:25this was actually purchased

01:27semi-furnished so it's completely fenced

01:29in

01:30and it's a really nice neighborhood what

01:32do we see in the background this is

01:33stuff chi can you point out and give us

01:35a little bit of scoop of what we're

01:36seeing yes um we're looking west and so

01:39we can see

01:41much of starchi and then beyond that

01:43it's narongo um it's a little bit hazy

01:46today if it wasn't we could see san

01:47ramon um so you'll get great sunsets

01:50here sarchi is a smaller sized town it

01:54has two grocery stores three banks a

01:56little farmer's market

01:58and one of the best frame shops that

02:01i've found around sarchia is very

02:04agricultural

02:06lots of

02:07small farms full of coffee

02:09a lot of people have a cow or even the

02:12ox as this is where the ox carts were

02:16fixed in the times when the coffee was

02:18taken to the coast to be exported in the

02:21axe cards they would stop by sarchi and

02:23and get the wheels fixed or

02:26um whatever might have happened to the

02:28ox-cart coming from the coffee fields

02:30yeah i see from uh very typical here if

02:32we look over there these are all you see

02:34all the banana trees and those were

02:37always used as shade for the coffee so

02:39they intermingle the coffee with a

02:40banana and so this is a very

02:43uh heavy coffee cultural area right yes

02:46and also um woodworking uh some of the

02:49best furniture in costa rica comes from

02:50starchy most of the furniture in this

02:52house is right from sarchi

02:55very good quality not terribly expensive

02:58furniture that'll last you the rest of

02:59your life

03:00and the next question would be okay

03:02brooke what um what are the property

03:04taxes per year on this house and tell us

03:06a little bit about what utilities could

03:07cost to keep this uh running okay this

03:10house uh probably pays about 300 a year

03:13actually probably less than that um for

03:16the municipal taxes on here internet we

03:20have fiber optic with colby which is uh

03:23the esa company and you can get

03:25different packages with that but for

03:27about a hundred

03:28megas you should pay 30 000 colonies or

03:3145 or so 50 a month um electric should

03:36be about

03:3925 000 colonies maybe 30 so 50 a month

03:43and water is roughly 10 a month so

03:45utilities are very inexpensive okay okay

03:48so yeah we have that all up uh that's a

03:50pretty inexpensive monthly

03:52tab to live in this house in costa rica

03:55yeah once you buy the house things are

03:57pretty inexpensive to maintain

03:59well as you can see there are affordable

04:01options available in costa rica

04:03depending on the area of the country
