be a real estate agent in South Africa
how to get started what qualifications
you need and at what point you are
legally allowed to sell a property we
will discuss all of this in five simple
steps the first thing you want to do is
to find a real estate agency to take you
in as an intern the internship usually
runs for a minimum of 12 months and a
maximum of 24 months this company will
then register you with the AEA be the
estate agency affairs board for a
fidelity fund certificate FFC the
certificate is renewed annually during
the period of your internship you will
be trained by full status real estate
agent who has had their FFC certificate
for a period of no less than three years
although you are able to make a living
as an intern and sell properties you
will not be allowed to sign any
documentation or less than mandate
without the supervision of your mentor
secondly keep a log book during your
internship you will need to be keeping a
logbook
in this you will document all your
activities and all successfully
completed tasks signed off by your
mentor
the third thing you'll need to do is to
put together apoE
the portfolio of evidence BOE will be a
separate file carefully created and
maintained by the intern estate agent
and should align with the logbook
documentation number four complete your
nkf level four qualification the
internestor agent must complete their
further education and training
certificate over Fe T C in real estate
at NQF level four with an accredited
service provider the intern will then
receive a certificate of competence from
the services theta it is possible to be
exempted from obtaining the FE t see if
the intern has any diplomas or degrees
in certain areas
finally write your PDE for exam once you
have successfully completed all the
previous steps you will need to write
your three our open book exam known as
the PDE four or professional designation
exam after passing this exam you are now
qualified as a full status real estate
agent and you are known as their
professional practitioner in real estate
or VP REE
