good morning all you crazy kids at Scott
with Emma some adventures just wanted to
check in currently it is Monday morning
Monday February 25th so it's another
chilly windy day in Wisconsin and I just
wanted to talk to you a little bit about
propane those of you who use propane
need to listen up I wish I would have
figured this out sooner but so I just
got two propane tanks filled I'd always
done the exchange and then from all of
my great folks on YouTube I learned that
most of the exchange places now with the
20 20 pound tanks they only exchange it
at 15 pounds so you're buying the the
exchange cylinder with 15 pounds of
propane even though the tanks hold 20 so
I thought hey let's see if I can find a
fill station and I went to the u-haul in
my area a lot of the big u-haul places
that rent the trucks and trailers and
also install trailer hitches a lot of
those have propane fills so I thought
hey let's go give it a shot and so I got
my 20 pound tanks that were empty so
empty that I couldn't even light the
heater that goes on the propane tank at
all and so I had both of them filled up
20 pounds and I paid a whopping 35
dollars just a few pennies over thirty
five dollars for two full 20 pound of
cylinders
so remember that coming up on the u-haul
place on the right here case anybody's
here in Wisconsin this is do you haul on
highway 100 in West Allis very friendly
folks give them a shout out I've never
been a huge fan of the u-haul rental
trucks but probably give them a shot
just because they have very friendly
customer service in there so anyway back
to my two tanks for $35 and around here
the exchange rate at any gas station or
Lowe's or Home Depot they're getting
anywhere from 1995 I went to like 23
dollars for a single of propane tank
with now 15 pounds versus 20 pounds in
it so not only does he figure it would
have been 40 to 44 dollars roughly for
two tanks exchanged I paid 35 so not
only did I save about eight or nine
bucks I also got 25% more propane
so on two tanks I mean obviously if
you're filling a single tank or your ten
tanks the the savings percentage is the
same but yeah so I was super happy saved
a few bucks and you can tell the
difference like the weight of a propane
tank that's filled right versus those
exchanges where you can hardly tell
whether there's any in it or not
now he's questioned if it's even 15
pounds but just wanted to do that little
shout-out I wish I had found this out
sooner or we really thought about it
sooner it was really quick and easy to
go and get them filled almost as fast as
doing it in exchange you know they
always say that it can be more a little
bit more hassle but it was no hassle at
all people very friendly it's a little
harder to find places that fill propane
these days because if there's so many
exchanges obviously it's very convenient
to go to a gas station and just swap
them out but it really wasn't bad at all
and again for the savings I mean 25
percent more propane and saved you know
last for more that's what we're always
looking for right especially you know if
you're in the RV community and you're
filling bigger tanks I mean that's a
huge that's a huge percentage and a lot
of savings especially if you're in the
colder climates and you're burning
through a lot of propane right now I
just use it to my garage heater but I
definitely hope to have tanks on a
trailer or van at some point but so
that's the little tidbit of the day and
I hope it helps I hope if you like our
channel please subscribe meadow and I
always love seeing new subscribers and
just hope everybody's having a great day
and go get your propane tanks filled
don't exchange them oh the other nice
thing is even if your propane tanks not
empty you can still haven't filled so
you can fill it whenever it's convenient
to you rather than waiting till your
stakes are on the grill and your tanks
run out to go to the gas station so all
right guys
