so one of the pain points of using
propane instead of charcoal is not
really being able to tell how full your
tank is and knowing whether or not you
have enough to cook with now a full tank
this size should be about 40 pounds but
if you don't have a scale or don't feel
like lugging it around there's actually
a much easier way to tell roughly about
how full it is you just need a hot glass
of water all you do is you pour the
glass of water down the side of the tank
and what will happen is the propane
actually absorbs the heat faster than
just the metal or the air that's inside
so if you run your hand down the side
like this you'll feel it get extremely
cold where there's propane in the tank
so from touch I can tell this one's
about half way full it's not exact but
it's enough to tell you whether or not
you have enough to cook or you need to
go get some more
