what's going on guys welcome back to the
channel if you're new my name is noah
and on this channel i like to talk about
all things online retail wholesale and
e-commerce
and this video is highly requested i
gotten a lot of requests
for to make a video on how to drop ship
on walmart
in the past about a few months ago i
made a video on how to drop ship on
amazon step by step and to this day that
is one of the most viewed videos on my
channel
it did very well and ever since then
i've wanted to make a bunch of follow-up
videos
long tutorials on how to drop ship for
each platform so in today's video i'm
gonna be breaking down walmart i'm gonna
be going over
the platform its nuances finding
suppliers
and all the miscellaneous details that
you need to know when selling on the
walmart marketplace without further ado
sit back relax grab a drink grab some
pen and paper
because this is going to be a long
tutorial as most of my tutorials are and
i plan on covering a lot of information
so first off we're gonna be talking
about creating a walmart account
then we're gonna be talking about which
type of suppliers that i personally use
in my business
and just as a small caveat i'm gonna be
putting a lot of caveats in this video
so the first is that when creating a
walmart account i'm not going to be
going over step by step i already have a
full video
that explains that so all the
information and everything that i
reference
will be linked down below and then for
which type of suppliers
i run a wholesale drop shipping business
most of the items that i sell on walmart
are
drop shipped from wholesale suppliers
however i do have a bunch of items that
i buy in bulk
that i store in my own warehouse and
that i do store at other 3pl warehouses
so the next is going to be getting a
resale certificate again i'm going to be
glossing over this i already have a full
video that
breaks down how to get a resale
certificate and then we're going to talk
about how to find wholesale suppliers
creating a wholesale account with those
suppliers finding profitable items and
doing product research
on walmart.com and orders for drop
shipping and uploading tracking
and then lastly all the miscellaneous
details payments
handling time returns everything that
you need to know again for how to sell
on the walmart marketplace
so let's go over how to create a selling
account on walmart
the first thing that you want to do is
you want to go to google and you're
going to type in sell on walmart and
then you're going to click this link
for the marketplace.walmart.com
it's going to bring you up to this page
and then when you get here you're going
to click request to sell
that is then going to bring you up to
the start of the application
so here you'll see this is the overview
they're going to tell you everything
that you need
and they're going to display how much
time it's going to take so here you have
your helpful tips
they break down the time and here you
have everything that you're going to
need so you're going to need your u.s
business tax id
they do not take social security numbers
you need an ein
for applying on walmart next you're
going to need to fill out a w9 or a w8
this is because walmart is going to be
sending payments to you so they need
that information
next you're going to need your address
or physical place of
operations so you're going to need your
warehouse address your usb business
address the address that is used for
registering your business
then your plan integration method that
means how you plan to
upload your products to walmart and they
give you some options you can do this in
bulk so
using a file or anything using api if a
software or if you want to go ahead and
connect to walmart's api
and then a solution provider is a
designated software that
walmart has listed on their system that
they have partnered with
to go ahead and list your items onto
their platform so some examples of that
would be
cell brite ecom dash zentel other
softwares and you'll see a full list of
that
shortly and then you have your primary
product categories
you're going to need your catalog size
how many skus how many products are
inside of your catalog how many products
do you sell
and then other related information your
total skus your type of product
your total revenue all that information
is going to be asked inside of the
application
and then again i will link my full video
down below
for the application process that covers
the entire application process
in its entirety one other thing to
quickly note is that walmart does not
give you a set number of days that they
will respond to you in
it's pretty arbitrary i've seen people
that get approved within a few days
i've seen people get approved within a
month or two for me it took me about
two weeks three weeks after that and
then i got approved and then once you
get approved you just need to set up
your account so we'll talk about that
later
but that's where you're going to be
putting in all of your business
information you're going to be putting
in your shipping
you're going to be putting in your
return settings and you're going to be
basically priming your account
setting everything up so that you can go
live and sell your products on walmart
next i want to talk about getting a
resale certificate so a resale
certificate is a supplementary document
that you can get
for your business and basically what it
does is it allows you to make
tax exempt purchases so that you can go
ahead buy an item
and not pay sales tax on it for items
that you are designating
that you are going to resell so you are
going to not pay tax on this item
let's say for example i was buying this
and i wanted to go ahead and resell it
to
another customer i would not pay sales
tax on this rather
i would buy it from my supplier my
wholesale supplier i would get the item
and then i would sell it to the end
customer and they would pay sales tax
and then once i get the sales tax i
would then remit that and i would give
it to my state so that's what a resale
certificate is for
that's not really correlating to walmart
that is just needed
inside of my business model which is
wholesale drop shipping which is the
type of business model that i use and
how i sell my products
on amazon so i do have a lot of videos
on this and i will link all these videos
again in the description
that break down how to get a resale
certificate and what it is
also i have to put my mandatory
disclaimer here i am not a cpa
so please do not sue me consult a
professional this is my experience this
is not legal advice
again i'm just a dude on youtube making
helpful videos so hopefully they're
helpful
so again a resale certificate allows you
to buy items for the purpose of
reselling
so you do not pay the sales tax you will
register with your state and are
responsible for remitting the sales tax
that you collect
to your state and this is your state
that you register in so this is where
you have a physical nexus
again i will link my other videos down
below that explain this more in depth
and walmart collects sales tax in most
states so they collect sales tax in over
35 states
again you just need to check this
information to see if they collect
the sales tax in the state that you are
registered in if they do not
then you are going to have to put your
tax information and you are going to be
responsible for collecting that sales
tax
and remitting it to the state where
walmart does not collect it and does not
remit it to that specific state
so on screen is a current list of the
states that walmart collects sales tax
in
in the ones that they do collect sales
tax you will see a green dot
on the left of that state name if
walmart does not collect and remit that
sales tax in that state then you will
see it
highlighted in blue you would just click
this and you would enter in your tax
information
for that state so that walmart can go
ahead collect it for you and then
give it to you and then you are going to
go ahead and then you're going to remit
it to the state
so for this section i want to talk about
how to find a supplier this is going to
be pertinent to wholesale drop shipping
and this is going to be on how to find
wholesale suppliers if you want to skip
this section
there will be time stamps linked in the
description and i will also link more
videos
that are going to go more in depth on
how to find suppliers so now that you
have your walmart account and that you
have your resale certificate you can
start
finding wholesale suppliers to work with
i currently mostly only work with
wholesale suppliers in the us
i put a little star there because i do
work with some suppliers in canada
as well as i do have some suppliers in
europe but the exception is is that most
of those suppliers
can ship items to the os very quickly
i'm going to show you three different
methods
or three different ways to go ahead and
find suppliers for your own business
so with that being said these are the
different methods i use google
trade shows as well as looking on other
marketplaces those are mainly my three
top methods
there are other methods but 90 of my
suppliers were found at trade shows
prior to what is currently going on i
was able to go out in person
and i was able to meet those businesses
in person so that was my primary way
for finding suppliers and once you have
one supplier or two suppliers
you could then go ahead and start to
leverage that to find more suppliers
the first method for finding suppliers
that we're quickly going to be talking
about is
using google using google is by far one
of my favorite methods there are a lot
of ways that you can use it
it's one of the largest search engines
if not the largest search engine so you
can search
a bunch of different terms you can spend
a lot of time mixing up the different
terms and finding
a lot of suppliers for your business the
most common way that i'm going to show
inside of this video is using the niche
that you want to target
plus the keywords wholesale and drop
ship so for example if i was looking for
a home decor supplier
i would type in home decor drop ship
wholesale supplier
and then you can also go ahead and you
can check walmart once you find that
supplier
you can check to see if their items have
any good reviews and then you can check
to see if those products are actually
sold on walmart
and this is going to be a good
indication that this might be a good
supplier to contact
because the items are already listed on
walmart so what we can go ahead and what
we can do
is we can go ahead and we can search
toys and games wholesale supplier
if you wanted to find toys and games or
wholesale suppliers that sold toys and
games
and then we can also search up wholesale
and we can search up dropship
and once we search that up we're gonna
get a bunch of different results
so right away from the google search
results the very first thing is i
ignore this and i ignore most of the top
stuff so once we search up that we're
going to look at other results so here
we have the top drop shipping companies
i'm not interested in this because it's
a list i'm looking to find
the actual source the actual supplier
the actual manufacturer so i can go
directly to them and get the best prices
for these items here we have this one
which is
estorefront guide and this is toys video
games
dropshippers distributors wholesalers
and it says that is a supplier and drop
shipper of educational toys
so they say that they are a wholesale
supplier i'm going to open them up and
we can take a look at them
then we have toy game and dropship
wholesale supplier trademark commerce
thousands of brand name products
available for you to sell
so we can open that up here we have drop
ship toys
toy wholesale dropshipper riding toys
pretend play baby
okay sounds like they have a decent
selection the next one that we have is
retail drop shippers so toys drop
shipping wholesalers and retail drop
shippers
drop shipping of wholesale toys and
games for the online retail seller
so sounds good let's open it up and then
we have it dropified
find toys to drop ship online everything
you need to run a successful toy drop
shipping business
so i'm not interested in that because
that does not sound like an actual
supplier
then we have oberlo i already know what
oberlo is that's more for drop shipping
from chinese suppliers
here we have worldwide brands wholesale
toys games and hobbies to sell
and it can be challenged area to get
selling online
uh so i'm going to open that up and then
we have wholesale central
and then i'm going to avoid the ones
with the ads because
normally when a company is running an ad
they're not an actual wholesale supplier
most wholesale companies don't really
run ads to their websites
they mostly find their customers using
other ways and they don't really rely on
ads so ninety percent of the time when i
see an ad
it's most likely not a wholesale
supplier but now we can go through these
results to see if we found any good
uh companies to work with so this was
e-stores front guide
and just judging by the home page this
does not look
like an actual wholesaler rather this
looks like a list
so toys video games drop shippers
distributors
home start business dropshippers so it
looks like they actually list some
suppliers so i would take a look at
these suppliers
and it even gives a breakdown of the
different suppliers so i know this one
this is ee distribution
i know anatex so maybe
i would actually continue using this and
we can go and we can try and search up
the different businesses
so we have anatex this did not yield
anything
then we have ee distribution this looks
like an actual wholesale supplier
so here they have their application um
what they offer
amazon fba no minimums so
let's take a look at the products they
sell so here there are the brands
they have dc hasbro uh they have a lot
of brands
that look really promising these are all
name brand products so i'd be interested
so what i would do is i would in a
google doc or in a sheet
i would go ahead and i would take the
company information i would call them up
and i would ask them if they dropship so
that's one company that we potentially
found
here we have other ones on the list we
have
ok toys is an importer exporter and a
distributor of toys novelties
sounds good so we actually found a
pretty big list of different wholesale
suppliers the question is is do these
wholesale suppliers
actually drop ship because that's what
we're looking for we're looking for
suppliers that are going to drop ship
so that we do not have to have the
inventory up front and it looks like
these
guys have a bunch of different car
models
might be a potentially good product to
sell there are no photos on some of the
items
so that might be something to worry
about and here we have
uh let's just go ahead and peruse the
website my account
to visit our website you must first
register with us below upon registration
please fill out the application okay so
they're asking for my company
information
as well as they are asking for my resale
permit number so they're asking for
stuff that they would ask for from
another business that sounds promising
other things that i would look at are
there policies so we have my account and
here we have faq and help
so let's see if we can find the word
drop shipping so i can do the
control f and nothing comes up for
dropship um i don't see anything about
drop shipping so what i would do is i
would contact them i would get a phone
number or get an email address and i
would just ask them
you know i want to open up a wholesale
account do you guys drop ship and
more information about that in terms of
opening up an account
so it might be a potentially good
wholesale supplier just not an actual
drop shipper
and then this was another one that we
found on the list but you guys get the
idea we found a decent list
and then these were some other ones that
we found in google so
let's go ahead and take a look so this
was trademark commerce
um they sell large pool tables and chess
boards and stuff so i don't know if i'd
be interested
in selling that but here it says that
you have to log in for wholesale pricing
so that's a good sign
a lot of wholesale companies what
they'll do is they'll have a gateway and
you actually need to have an account in
order to view their
prices so let's see what we need to do
in order to get a wholesale account
and we can also open up the frequently
asked questions to see if they drop ship
um and then we can see sign up here so
drop ship
first name last name so they are asking
for your ebay seller id is your amazon
seller id
they're not asking for your federal tax
id or any of that information
so that might be something to look out
for uh let's go ahead and take a look at
what products they have
so new products and i just want to see
that they have products that i would
potentially be interested in selling
so what is your return policy can i drop
ship an order how do i drop ship
place an order as you normally would um
so this might be another supplier that i
would potentially look at i just want to
go ahead and see their types of products
doesn't really look like they have
anything named brand as well as the
website
kind of looks a little bit outdated so i
would ask for a catalog
i would ask to see what type of products
they sell and then i would go ahead and
take a look at those products on walmart
and potentially it might be a good
supplier but i would also go ahead and
do
a more in-depth analysis here we have
drop ship toys
so we have dealer login we can go ahead
and that does not look good
so um no membership fee competitive
wholesale prices fast shipping inventory
feed
okay let's take a look at products
filament dealer inquiry
uh we have sports toys uh
there are no products in this category
toys and games baby goods
so there are no products i don't see any
products i'm going to move on
and then we have toy we have retail drop
shippers
so you guys get the idea that's mostly
how i would go about looking for
different wholesale suppliers on google
just using different keywords looking at
their websites and seeing
if they would be a good fit for my
business so now this is gonna be a
comprehensive look of what i go ahead
and what i look for when i'm checking
out if a wholesale supplier is gonna be
a good fit for my business
the first thing is how does the website
look is it functional is it usable
is it something that you would expect to
see from a wholesale supplier or is it
something that
looks like it's from the 90s and isn't
usable these are things that you have to
factor in
when deciding if they're going to be a
good wholesale supplier that's not to
say that every wholesale supplier that
has a bad website is going to be a bad
supplier
that's just something that you need to
take into account because if you're
going to be placing orders on their
website
it needs to be somewhat functional the
next thing to look for is
is there a contact button and is there a
phone number is there a way for you to
go ahead and reach out to that company
other than that i go ahead and i view
their location on google maps
so i take their location that they say
is their business address
i put it into google and then i go ahead
and i take a look at the street view of
that
just to see that it is a commercial
address and that i'm not going to be
working with someone who works out of
their basement
you can also go ahead and take a look at
their google reviews their yelp reviews
you can take a look at
their social medias like facebook their
instagram or
any other company profiles maybe even
linkedin if you can find the people that
work there or the ceos
or anything like that how are the
reviews on amazon
walmart or on ebay for the products that
they sell this is
specifically important for a brand if
you want to sell a brand's products
let's say you find a brand to work with
and you go and you see their products on
amazon only have like two or three stars
that might be a red flag and something
you would want to stay away from
next i check their frequently asked
question this is where they're going to
answer all the questions and
potentially if i could find out right
away if they drop ship or what their
return
policy is anything of that sort of
nature next i look to see if they have a
map
policy this might not be something that
you can go ahead and find right away
however you can ask them if they can
send over their
information about opening up a wholesale
account and this might be something that
is going to be in the application
and something that you would need to
sign and agree to when you were signing
up with a supplier
i also check for order minimums and
other documents that i might want to
find
such as their policies return policy
shipping the rights to use their photos
that's pretty big especially if you want
to drop ship on other platforms
and then i also look to check the item
selection and to see if they have any
name brand items or any items that would
sell well
if i don't see any items that i would
recognize you can always take the title
for that item and search it on
walmart or search it on amazon to see if
it does sell if it's a generic item
then it might be something that you
might want to pass on also be sure to go
ahead and check the handling times
extremely important especially when you
are drop shipping on amazon so always be
sure to go ahead and check
how long they state that it takes for
them to ship out an item
and lastly i always call and i always
send them an email
to make sure that they are a real
wholesale supplier and that
i can get the information as fast as
possible so right now we're going to be
taking a look at the second method for
finding suppliers which is going to be
using trade shows
so similar to the way that i did it
before i'm just going to search up the
niche
and then i'm going to put the keyword
trade show and that's going to allow me
to find all the trade shows for this
type of keyword so i'm looking for home
decor
trade shows and what a trade show is is
it's essentially an expo or a venue
where you have a bunch of suppliers that
are going to go and they're going to
feature their products in their
different booths and their different
setups
and then a bunch of the buyers which is
like people like me retailers
other people who want to go ahead and
find these types of products they're
going to come to these trade shows
to find these suppliers and buy their
products so we're looking to find
a list of the companies attending so
that we can find a list of these
different brands and these suppliers
and then we're going to see the list
we're going to find these companies
names and then we're going to go ahead
and reach out to them and see if they're
going to be
offering to dropship or if they're going
to be good suppliers for our business
so what you can do is you can just go
through the results so 10 times
is a list of different trade shows uh
here you have
um wholesale central which is another
list and here we have las vegas market
so uh with more than 4 300 gift and home
resources available
so that sounds good so we're going to
open that up and we can take a look and
as you'll see
las vegas market it's a trade show that
is
for home decor it's an expo for
different
home decor different uh garden niche and
basically everything revolving around
the home
so the next step is we want to find a
list of the suppliers that are going to
be attending the trade show and the way
that you can do it is that
you just want to open up wherever it
says exhibitors directory or
list of exhibitors or the floor plan so
we have the market info
here we have the exhibitors and products
we have the floor plans so we're going
to go ahead and open that up
and the exhibit directory let's take a
look at this
so it shows us the type of products
so we can view the products being sold
and it also shows us the company name so
that's good
and then this was the floor plan so it
shows us where all of the booths are
where all the different vendors are
going to be
so we can take a look at different
categories so let's say we wanted to
sell furniture and home decor
we could take a look at that and that
opened up a list of the companies
that are going to be underneath this
category so here we have
piranha sleep so let's open that up and
let's see their company profile
and this can be a company that we could
potentially reach out to
so we have their name and we have their
website so we can view that
and it says the collection combines five
decades of experience you get a brief
summary of the company
and once we get to their website we can
see that they specialize in mattresses
they probably also have
other items that are going to be
relevant to that and here we want to
find and basically the same thing
we want to look for a way to go ahead
and contact them we want to look for a
way to go ahead and see if they drop
ship
and then we also want to look for to see
if we can create an account so right now
i see a contact us button
but this mostly looks like a retail
store and i don't see anything that says
wholesale so we can open up the
frequently asked questions
and going back to the top
so that nothing here says wholesale so i
would reach out
and i would use this message template
right here that i'm going to leave in
the description
so this would say hello and then you can
put your name or your company name so
hello and then you would put their name
and then my name is and you would put
your name
from whatever your company name is i'm
interested in opening up a wholesale
retail account with you
uh please let me know what information
you would need for me and i'll be sure
to send it over
and then you can go ahead and sign out
and then once you do that
you're going to just email it to them
and then you're going to get a response
from them
telling them that either they do
wholesale or they don't and then you can
follow up asking if they drop ship and
you can also follow up asking about
their different company policies their
different company information so here
let's go ahead and just quickly
check the frequently asked questions we
can do control f
to see if there's any word for wholesale
so i don't see anything
so we don't want to waste too much time
on just one supplier so we can always
move on to the next one
and essentially i would just keep on
doing this until i reach out
to 10 20 even 50 different suppliers and
that's how you go ahead and how you find
suppliers is just by keep messaging
suppliers
kind of like door-to-door sales or
whatever but you're just going and
you're trying to find these companies to
work with
so now let's talk about how to go ahead
and how to quickly open up a wholesale
account
let's say you've vetted the supplier
you've spoken to them on the phone
you've asked them their drop shipping
policy you've gone and you've checked
their items
you verified everything next you're just
going to want to open up a wholesale
account this is different for
almost every supplier sometimes you have
to contact them and then they'll send
you the information then you have to
email it back
other times you fill it out on the
website sometimes you have to go ahead
and you have to do an interview on the
phone
this is different for every single
supplier i just want to show you a
general way that you can go ahead and
open up a wholesale account
so this is ctw this is a wholesaler that
i featured in a lot of my videos
pretty self-explanatory the way that
they do it on their website i also think
it's pretty common which is why i show
them
so if you wanted to go ahead and create
a new account to go and register
so you would click create new account
and then they would have their online
application process
you would fill in your name your last
name your business name your address
and then you would fill in your country
state zip code your fax
and then you'd also fill in your company
details like your certificate number and
then you would fill in your state
tax id you would also have to upload a
copy of that which you would get
once you fill out your resale
certificate once you get that and then
you're going to have to fill out your
login information
and then you would just go ahead and
submit it and then most companies what
they'll do is they'll usually take
between 24 to 48 hours
and then they're going to get back to
you with the information and they're
going to help you set up
and finalize your wholesale account with
that company so the next thing that i
want to talk about is
product research for drop shipping on
walmart or product research in general
this is something that a lot of people
have asked me questions about and really
i don't have a great answer because the
way that i do product research on
walmart is kind of arbitrary
the way that i do it is i just take my
best-selling items from my other
platforms
and i just basically take all of my
items from my suppliers and i list it
on walmart there is no limit on the
number of items that you can list on
walmart
so since i'm drop shipping and i'm not
spending any money for the product up
front
i'll just list whatever items i have and
then basically
from the data that i gather there i get
to see what items are selling
and then i get to see what are the best
selling items from my supplier
one way that you can do it is you can
search up the brand or you can search up
the type of item
on walmart and you can see where that
item ranks for a certain keyword
so let's take a look at the brand that
we were looking at before which was
prana sleep and we can search that up on
walmart and we can see
where does this brand lie no pun
intended but we can go ahead and we can
see it
so we have prana sleep and first off
none of their products have reviews
and also we have a couple of mattress
items
so we have a decent sized collection but
most of this none of these have reviews
and then we can also go ahead and take a
look at how many sellers
are selling on these products
so it says it's shipped by and sold by
one other seller so we have this seller
uh which is uh sterx and then we can go
ahead and compare all sellers so it
looks like there's two sellers
on this listing two separate companies
so that's not too competitive
uh i would definitely say that is a good
indication they're both selling it for
around the same price
someone undercut the seller in order to
get the buy box so this doesn't really
give you an indication that the item
sells however you're able to see that
there are sellers who are
listing on this product there is a
decent amount of items that are listed
but you don't really see any reviews and
that's the problem when doing product
research on
walmart is that there is no external
system
for seeing how well an item does on ebay
you can go ahead and you can see
the amount of sales that a listing has
done on amazon you have the bsr
which in turn allows you to use tools
like helium 10
jungle scout viral launch and all the
other ones on walmart there are barely
any tools and the ones that there
are are extremely expensive so as a
buyer and as a seller you don't
really have any knowledge of which items
sell well before you list it so that's
where my method comes in
again i'm not paying for any items up
front there's no limit to the items that
you can list
so i essentially just take all of my
suppliers items i also list products
that are doing well on other
marketplaces so if i have a product
that's doing well on amazon
or it's doing well on ebay i will list
those items specifically first
on walmart but that's essentially my
product research strategy or rather
lack thereof for selling items on
walmart so now that we've gone over the
basics of how wholesale works and how to
find suppliers
now it's time to take all that and put
it into practice
in terms of listing and selling on
walmart as i
explained with my product research
strategy my goal is basically just to
list
all the items that my suppliers have so
if my suppliers have 1000 items
i'm just going to list those 1 000 items
due to the fact that walmart again does
not have a limit on the number of items
that you can list so i am just going to
take all of those items and list them
because i also am not paying for those
items up front and i'm not buying
anything in bulk since i am drop
shipping
one of my suppliers that i use is
mackenzie earns they're a very
well-known urn company
and for their products they have a large
selection they have different sizes
and they have a bunch of different
variations in the forms of colors
so this is their entire product line and
each product comes in about 20
to 30 colors depending on the product so
for all of these items
since i do not have the upfront cost of
purchasing them in bulk
i would just take their entire catalog i
would find the listings on walmart or i
would create them myself
and i would list the products on the
walmart marketplace
the software that i currently use to
list my products is
sellerchamp i have another video on them
this is just the listing software that i
use
as it allows me to take my items from
amazon and
to automatically cross post it onto
walmart so i didn't need to go ahead and
create
brand new listings rather i could just
take the listings and i could just list
them directly on walmart through
sellerchamp
i can also manage the prices manage the
quantity and
manage everything else about my listing
now most of mckenzie's items are already
listed on walmart so i do not need to
create a new listing
however the one thing that sellerchamp
doesn't do is they do not create new
listings
so if you wanted to create a new listing
onto walmart for a product that's not
currently listed there or you wanted to
list it under your
brand then you would need your own upc
code and you need to do that process on
walmart
or if you were doing it through another
software potentially you can use it
through the software that you're using
so when you log into the walmart
dashboard this is what you're greeted
with and you're good with the manage
items page
and here you have several options to
list your items onto walmart
you could do it individually you can do
it through an excel file or through a
csv
you can also do it through a software or
through the api
so my choice that i use is i do it
through sellerchamp which is through the
walmart api
so the way to add an item individually
is you want to go to your suppliers
website
and you want to get the upc code or the
item identifier
for that item next you're going to go to
your manage items dash page
or your dashboard and then you're going
to click new item
and then what you're going to do is
you're going to enter in the item
identifier on this page
so for me i have the upc code i'm going
to enter that in
and then you want to press enter and if
you're using the exact upc code for that
item
hopefully it's going to bring up the
correct listing for that item on walmart
and then once if it is correct you're
going to click yes it is and then
walmart is going to pull in the
information next first i just like to
see
the mandatory information that i need to
enter so i want to enter in my sku
next the brand so you you can't really
change this this is the brand
the person who originally listed it and
then you have the description
so next i'm going to click recommended
walmart gives you a bunch of information
that you can go ahead and you can enter
in here
so for the lag time the lag time is
going to be the shipping
i usually put two days that's my
handling time
next none of this is really relevant to
me
so i'm just going to go ahead and i am
going to uncheck that
next image in media the pictures are
already there
nothing i can do and then the offer
price so what i would sell it for
i'm going to sell it for 75 let's say
then you want to enter in
the shipping weight so for this item
it's going to be 10 pounds
and then you have your floor price here
you have your site start date all this
other information that i don't really
fill out
and then once you're done you can either
save it as a draft
so if you want to come back to it later
or you can go ahead and you can press
submit and that will enter it into your
catalog so you would have it listed
underneath your walmart seller account
on the walmart marketplace
the other way that you can list items is
by doing it in bulk
so you want to go to item setup and
maintenance here you want to click
seller fulfilled items since we're doing
drop shipping we're not doing
walmart fulfilled and we're not using
deliver
next if you wanted to add them in bulk
so you see you still have the option
right here to add a single item
you can add items in bulk so if you were
to click this
now it's going to go ahead and you can
download a full item spec sheet and on
the item spec sheet you can download the
sheet
you can enter in all of the specifics
and all the item details
like the upc code the price and then
once you're done you would fill out the
sheet
and then you would upload the item spec
sheet and your items would be uploaded
to walmart
so the next way is through api now you
can click this and walmart will tell you
how to find your api keys
the other way is normally for most
softwares that you connect with
you can access your api keys or they'll
tell you how to access your api keys
so when i was connecting my marketplace
to sellerchamp they told me where to
find it
you can click the link and they'll bring
you up to the page that you need to
you're just going to copy your token and
all the other information
and then you would just go ahead and
submit it to sellerchamp
or to any software and that will connect
your account and then you can list your
items
through that software the next thing to
talk about is updating your items
including updating the inventory
updating prices updating lag time and
again lag time
means the handling time so you can go to
the bulk updates page
and here you can download a spec sheet
and you can upload your items in bulk
there are different spec sheets for your
needs so if you wanted to update your
inventory
if you wanted to update your pricing and
here you can update your lag time
so if you wanted to increase your
handling time or you wanted to upload
your new return rules then you can go
ahead and you can
download each sheet so for inventory
update i would download
it fill in the correct inventory for any
of my skus
and then i would just upload it here and
then you would have a feed status
and it would show you how many were
processed if there were errors
etc so i don't do any of my updates
inside of walmart again
everything is handled through my
software since it's mostly automated and
it's connected to my suppliers so when
my suppliers items go out of stock
it updates it on my software which
updates it on walmart
one thing to note for lag time is that
walmart is very strict when it comes to
handling time
and the most that you can increase it
yourself is to two days the way to get
around that is you need to get lag time
exemption
you need to apply for exemption for each
sku to tell them why you need an
increase
in the amount of handling time so the
way that i did that is you go to help
you want to go to contact partner
support that's going to bring you up to
a page where you can select your issue
then you're going to create a case i
told them that i need more handling time
due to what is currently going on
and i was able to use that to get my lag
time extended to three days
for some of my bulkier items as well so
that was everything for the items and
inventory tab
the next tab is the orders tab and here
you can go ahead and see your orders
and here's where you can process your
orders for your account
so here you can see your past orders
your new orders your orders that are due
today that are supposed to be shipped
today
and then you have your past due orders
the ones that are past the due date for
when you were supposed to ship it you
can also toggle between your walmart
seller fulfilled
as well as your own seller fulfilled
orders and when you scroll down
here is when you can access the
information for the orders so it gives
you the customer details when to ship by
the total quantity
the status as well as the purchase order
number and the order date
so right when you get an order what
you're supposed to do is you want to
click on the number
and that is going to open up the order
page so what you want to do
right when you get an order is you want
to acknowledge it this is going to let
walmart know that you
have seen this order and then once
you're ready to ship you're just going
to change the status
to ship and then you're just going to
enter in the carrier that you're using
you're going to enter in the tracking
number and then if you have any seller
notes you can put that here
and then you're going to press update
and that is going to update your order
with the tracking number which is going
to send it to the customer
you can go ahead and you can create
cases to get reimbursed for some of the
returns
i've had customers say that the item
arrived late and i've
shown walmart that it hasn't so i did
get reimbursed for a lot of my return
shipping
so returns are a little bit of a pain on
walmart but it is a workable
as well as a lot of my sales on walmart
are higher profit margins
so i kind of price it into my items the
next tab is going to be adjustments
on the adjustments page here you will
see all of your adjustments for the
orders
next you have your disputes this is
disputes with your customers disputes
that are currently with the walmart so
again for the returns and refunds
i had a dispute for the shipping on a
refund that's where that would be then
you have your analytics and reports
so here you can go ahead and you can see
your analytics like your ratings
your shipping performance your sales
under growth opportunities you can see
your listing quality
unpublished items pricing opportunity
and assortment growth
so this is going to give you more
in-depth data on your listings it's
going to tell you what you can improve
and what walmart recommends that you
improve under payments you can go ahead
and you can see your payment information
it'll tell you when your pass payments
were i use hyperwallet a lot of other
people use payoneer
currently i have not had any problems
with hyperwallet
but we will talk about that later in a
bit underneath i have one tab
that a lot of people don't have which is
the wfs
so i have not currently set up wfs
however i am planning to test it out in
the future
and this is kind of like walmart's fba
program where you would send your
inventory into them and then they will
handle it and they'll ship it out to
customers
i'm waiting till after q4 to get started
with this but this is where that would
be you'd see your inventory
here you can send inventory to them
reports and this wfs dashboard
so that's where all of that would live
if you want to edit your information
for your business or for your account
you can do that all here your company
information you would edit your company
info
under customer service you can edit your
customer service you can edit what you
put down when you first created your
account
here you have your manager contacts so
this is the five
emails that you set up when you were
setting up your account so your customer
service contact
your shipping manager contact etc under
shipping you can edit your shipping
settings
so if you want to charge shipping if you
want to set different templates
that can all be done within shipping
returns you can go ahead and you can set
up your returns
settings if you want to go ahead and use
your own freight account or if you want
walmart to
go and purchase returned labels for you
and then bill you
privacy policy and then you have taxes
for your shipping profile
underneath seller fulfillment right here
you can add your own seller managed
fulfillment center
or if you wanted to you can add a
walmart fulfillment center
and you can also partner with deliver
and here you can enter in your shipping
templates
this is something that i currently have
not done because i only use
a few suppliers that relatively have the
same shipping settings
so if you wanted to set up different
templates for different suppliers
for different items here you can do that
so you can create a new template
and then just go about it and create
that new template for that supplier
and use those shipping settings and then
you have your general shipping settings
which is just your two day shipping when
you're closed your additional days off
etc so a very helpful tip is under
notification settings
here you can set the frequency for when
you want emails
if you just started your account then
you're going to be getting emails for
your orders and you can set the
frequency when you want to get this
so currently i have it set to every 12
hours i like to get my emails every
morning and every night
for my orders and i also check my
account regularly but if you want it
every
hour or every 15 minutes you can always
do that so this way you can edit or you
can update
the notification emails that you'll get
for your orders
if you want to access your payment
method you can go to financial settings
and you can edit
or you can access your payment in throw
through here so you can click this and
then you can
access your payment information you here
you can access and you can
get your tax form and then under lending
offers you can see if you have
any offers from walmart for their
lending programs
and then under api you can get access to
your api credentials
again you can use that for software or
if you needed to connect to your walmart
account
touching back on what we originally
talked about if you wanted to edit
and add your tax information you would
click on taxes
here you would select your state if it's
not in green
then you need to add your tax
information underneath that you can add
your shipping sales tax codes
so let's say you're in oregon or you're
in missouri or you're in a state where
walmart does not collect
and you need to collect tax on the
shipping as well so you would need to
add your sales tax code or you need to
add the code that is relevant to
whatever you are doing for your orders
so walmart gives you the information
that you need so you can click learn
more here and then you would need to
go ahead and select the code which is
most relevant to you
and then that will charge the
appropriate sales tax on your orders if
that is something that is relevant to
your business
you can also download the current sales
tax code spreadsheet from here
so all the information can be found here
and you can also enter in your sales tax
policy
to display to your customers so that's
essentially how i drop ship on walmart
through my business i work with
wholesale suppliers
and then once i get access to those
wholesale suppliers i take their items i
use my software to
go ahead and upload those items and then
i upload it to walmart
i like to upload the entire catalog
there is no limit on the number of items
that you can list
and with drop shipping you don't need
any money to buy the products up front
so right now i just want to go over some
additional things to know and these are
things that really didn't fit in or just
miscellaneous information
that can help you with drop shipping on
walmart the first thing to know is
returns so i already mentioned something
about returns
but i want to clarify this returns on
walmart are
very lenient walmart usually accepts any
returns from any customer
as well as walmart makes it extremely
easy because the customer can just go
ahead
take the item and send it to or deliver
it to a walmart store and then
walmart will package up the item and
they will send it to you you can select
which warehouse you or you which
location
you want the item sent back to but
walmart is going to charge you
for that return shipping the other
option is is that you can select to use
your own return shipping account
personally i let walmart handle the
shipping because their shipping is
extremely cheap compared to what i would
pay
if they were using my own carrier
accounts i do send very large items
so and also very bulky items i would
rather just have walmart do it since
they have really good rates for their
weight and how much it would cost me
to ship is going to be a lot more with
wholesale suppliers and return shipping
usually i can either pay a restocking
fee or i can keep the item with me and
then i'll just resell it especially if
it was an item that sells well and the
item wasn't damaged if the item was
damaged
then i can just get a refund from my
supplier often i will just let the
customer keep it
and then i'll just go to my supplier and
i'll get a refund anyways the next thing
i want to talk about is
lag time so i spoke a little bit about
this but i just want to emphasize
lag time equals handling time and
normally
at the very base it's going to be 24
hours you can go ahead and extend this
to two days
and if you want an extension further
than that you will have to go and
contact
walmart's support to make a case for why
they should extend your lag time
and you will need to do that for every
single sku that you sell in terms of
payment
walmart pays through pioneer or
hyperwallet i currently use hyperwallet
which is owned by paypal
i have not had a problem the money goes
into my hyperwallet
it automatically gets deposited into my
bank account i've been using it for the
past five months
have not had an issue and it works very
well and then in terms of
how often you get paid when you first
start so the first 90 days you need to
wait two weeks till after item has been
delivered
and then you will get paid so after
those first 90 days
then walmart will start paying you every
two weeks but before that you will need
to wait until the item has been
confirmed to deliver for the customer
and then walmart will pay you and again
that's just for the first
90 days after you open up your account
and the last thing i want to stress that
a lot of people ask me and i've said it
several times during this video is that
there is no limit on the number of items
that you can list
on walmart huge benefit unlike ebay or
unlike
etsy or unlike any other marketplace
with
walmart there are no fees that you have
to pay to open the account so you don't
need to pay 40
a month like on amazon there's no store
subscription like on ebay
and you don't have a limit on the number
of items that you can list the only time
that you will pay walmart is you will
pay the referral fee
and inside of the referral fee that
takes care of all the credit card
processing and everything else
so the only fee that you paid to walmart
is just that flat referral fee
which is generally around 15 very
similar to amazon
however it does differ on whatever
category you are selling on
so for the referral fee structure this
is how it works
again it's generally around 15 but
you'll see for automotive
and powersports it's 12 for cell phones
cameron photo consumer electronics it's
eight
but generally across the board it's 15.
so it does range but i will leave a link
to this in the description so you can
take a look
at this for yourself the last thing i
just want to say is that you can take a
look at walmart's faq section
here they answer a bunch of questions
that sellers frequently asked
so why should you join walmart uh once
approved how do i start selling on
walmart
and here you can look up questions about
adding your items fulfilling orders
getting paid and everything else so this
is a very helpful
a doc this is very helpful information
so i'm gonna also leave this
linked down below with that being said i
hope that you guys enjoyed this video
this was a video that was a long time in
the making and it did take a long time
to make
and a lot of people did request me to
make a video on how to drop ship on
walmart
i tried my best to put as much
information as i can again
not selling any course for this just
trying to provide as much value as i can
in this video
the only thing that i'm gonna ask in
return if you've made it till the end is
if you can go ahead and smash the like
button
also if you are not subscribed i make
videos every single week about running
an e-commerce business
selling online it's my full-time living
and i share what value and what
knowledge
i can on my channel so if you guys are
interested in that be sure to go ahead
and subscribe
thanks for watching and i'll see you
guys in the next video peace
you
