we are talking about
selling retail products as a beauty
professional
now as any good beauty professional
knows selling services are her bread and
butter
but selling products retail products
they're like
the caviar so it's the icing on the cake
and the thing that you can do for your
business that can
really help you make a lot more money
every single month
in fact some beauty professionals
especially estheticians that i've talked
to
have told me that they make up to 50
of their monthly revenue in product
sales so that is a whole lot of extra
money coming in and with a second wave
of shutdowns happening around the world
right now
finding extra ways to make money is so
crucial and by selling products to your
clients right now
you're not only making extra money but
you're also providing an
invaluable service to your clients
so whether you are selling products
through an e-commerce shop which is my
personal recommendation i love having an
online shop
or you're doing it the old-fashioned way
by using paypal or venmo or something
like that to sell products to clients
or maybe you're even open right now
you're just a little bit slow and you
want to be able to
promote more products i have some ideas
for you
in today's video i'm going to share a
whole bunch of
creative ways to make more product
sales right now so whether you're
selling hair care products skin
care magnetic lashes at home self
tanning products
spa kits do-it-yourself nails whatever
it is that you're selling
these ideas are going to inspire you and
get you so
lit up and they are going to help sell
your products
like hotcakes so whether you just choose
one or
two or three of these ideas use them run
with them and i
cannot wait to see what you can do all
right let's jump into some of these
creative ideas
okay so first and foremost i wanted to
put in a caveat
and this is the most important thing to
start off with if you want to sell
lots of beauty products right now make
sure that
what you're selling is what your clients
want to
buy the last thing that you want to do
is invest
time money and effort promoting products
that clients just
don't really want so first thing that
you need to do is just make sure that
what you're selling is
absolutely something that you love and
something that
they will love especially you want to
make sure that your products align with
what it is that your clients love about
you is it that you
are a clean beauty business vegan
cruelty free that you use all natural
products
maybe you're a little bit woowoo and so
are your clients think about the things
that they connect with you with and
think about products that will
align with what it is that they want
is it in their price range is it the
type of thing that truly satisfies needs
for them
so really just think about that and i
recommend selling especially products
that you personally love and believe in
so experimenting with new products is
great but if you want my suggestion
start off with products that you
personally can educate really well about
that you are a expert in and they will
catch on to that
so if you want my advice for how to make
sure that you're
selling products that your clients
actually love
ask your clients send out a survey
through email um send out um an
instagram post
post on instagram stories post on
instagram and facebook
and just ask them what kind of products
they want right now maybe give them
some suggestions ask quick which one
they like best
get their feedback and you're going to
start off on the right foot so my next
suggestion for you is to do an
educational series about your products
any good beauty professional knows that
when you're in the salon
the best way to sell retail products is
just through education
explaining to them how the products work
why you love them
why your client will love them it's the
exact same thing when you're selling
online and when you're promoting an
online shop with products the best way
that you can educate online is to create
really good content about these products
so
look at creating videos where you're
actually talking through the ingredients
why you love it what this product is
best for
why your clients would want to use it
use content marketing videos especially
to create that kind of things also when
you are uploading
your products onto your online store if
you have an e-commerce shop
pay close attention to the description
of the product you really want to put
really good information
in there about how to use the product
what it's indicated for
just include more information than you
think that you need to because
education is the key to selling even
online
you can also do something like a video
tutorial where you're showing
how you use the product how you do your
makeup for the day
how you can take care of your skin day
and night
so anything that you can use to educate
will also be a great selling tool okay
here's another idea for you
invest a little bit of money in online
advertising your products
and your store so if you know me you
know that i love
facebook advertising and facebook and
instagram advertising can work
so well so look at putting like 10 or 20
into an ad that you target to your
instagram followers your facebook
followers people who
already know and like you and share a
video like i said before of you using a
product
have a video where you just show you
holding a product and talking about the
fact that it's on sale right now on your
store
people just need to see you and the
product together and they will check out
your online shop so
advertising is a really good way to just
get your name out there even
further here's something you may not
have thought of for selling more
products
samples so samples are those little
bottles or
little packets of products that you can
use
and those are a great way of selling
more
products so anytime in the future when
one of your clients purchases something
from you
look at sending them an extra sample of
a different product
along with that purchase so they'll look
at it as a gift they'll look at it as a
bonus if you're like me
you love trying out samples so use those
samples to sell
when you send along that sample send
along an extra note and just say
hey i thought you'd like this product
i've been loving it myself
i just wanted to give you a little hint
of what it's like
let me know what you think and if you
want to purchase the full-sized
version of it so it's a great way to
keep on selling and it really makes your
clients feel valued and special
whenever they purchase something from
you here's another idea for you that has
been working
so well for a ton of my students and
community members
is selling it through online workshops
and online consultations
so if your doors are closed right now
and you can't see clients
look at doing one-to-one consultations
on zoom or something like that where you
can
talk to your clients about their issues
their needs
what they need help with and you can
educate them
about products and also sell products to
them
so what i've seen some people doing is
having a paid consultation so let's say
twenty or thirty dollars for a skin
consultation and then if they purchase a
product from you
on the consultation you put that money
towards their product
purchase so at the end of the day it's a
win-win situation for both you
and your clients so you can look at
doing one-to-one consultations like that
or you can look at doing workshops for
multiple people
say you had 10 clients on a workshop
that you're teaching about
how to read product labels or how to
make your own
skin care masks at home how to
cut your kids hair whatever it is
while you're doing a workshop like that
you can also educate about
products and give them a special code or
a special
discount for some of the products that
you're talking about here's an idea that
i love because i
love email marketing send out an email
to your clients with a surprise private
sale
just for them so if you've got an online
shop
and you've got some products that you
want to put a special promotion on just
for your client list
send them an email just tell them i'm
doing something exciting to reward my
loyal clients right now and this is just
for you
you can give them a coupon code which i
personally love
or you can say with every product
purchase that you get you'll get another
sampler kit of little products there's
so many cool little promotions that you
can do
but promote it through email make it
secret make it special make it
limited time say just for this weekend
i'm doing a flash sale just for my
clients

okay so here's a promotional idea that
you
might not have thought of but i think
it's genius use
local influencers to sell and promote
your products
so i've talked about this before
partnering with
local influencers who are bloggers or
just have a really good
instagram presence locally in your city
you can partner with them to promote
your services as an ambassador but now
that you're looking
at doubling down on product sales you
can use influencers to promote your
retail sales in your online store
as well so did you know that 49
of people look to influencers about a
product before deciding whether to buy
or not
it makes a huge difference so if you
partner with somebody
you could look at giving them a special
discount code
or a special perk for promoting the
products on your
store give them a link that they can
send people to your online store for
give them some free products that they
can review on their instagram
such a fun and really powerful way
to get the word out about what you're
doing how about this one a contest who
doesn't love a good contest right
set up a contest for your client
so you could do something like give them
product samples ask them to review the
product and anyone who reviews the
products
will be entered to win 100 shopping
spree on your online store or you can do
something fun like make an instagram
post with a picture of one of your
products
and ask them to describe it or tag
friends or something like that choose a
winner and that winner gets a gift card
to your online shop
so it's a really good way to get people
interested in what you're posting on
but it's also a really good way to just
promote the fact that you have an online
shop and that you have
products as well so make those products
front and center whenever you do a
contest
next idea for you are quizzes i
love quizzes there's actually a cool
quiz builder that you can use called
interact so try interact.com
i've used it before and i love it think
about if you could have a quiz
on your online shop or on your website
where you say
tell me your skin type and i'll tell you
the products that are best for you
or what is the best essential oil
for your life right now or you could do
a quiz where people tell you a little
bit about your their hair
and then you recommend the best products
to them quizzes
are amazing for selling more products so
look at doing something fun that really
gets people engaged and interacting with
you and then at the end you recommend
the best products for them
okay and my last idea for you is really
look at getting product reviews so this
one applies if you've got an
online shop you know how important
product reviews are
for yourself when you go to purchase
something on amazon for example
it's the exact same way with your
clients
the likelihood of your clients buying a
product with
five or more positive reviews is 270
percent
higher so that's a crazy number and what
that means is that
you should look at getting product
reviews on your store
so most online stores you can enable
product reviews
and after someone has purchased a
product from you
you can email them send them a message
or even get them involved in a contest
or
award them for leaving reviews
they will tell you all about what they
love about the product and it will help
other people decide whether it's right
for them or not
okay so that was a lot of different
ideas i know you've probably got a lot
of ideas
swimming in your head right now take a
minute take
two or three of these ideas and really
start working on them
look at how you can create a sustainable
way to consistently
make sales of products because honestly
right now with cobia shutdowns we don't
know what's happening it's a really good
idea to have
an alternative source of revenue for
your business that consistently
brings in money and selling products and
especially
having an online shop where your clients
can go to
buy products from you any time of day
whenever they want
is such a good idea so if you use some
of these ideas i'm sure the products are
going to start flying off the shelves
use some of these creative ideas get
inspired and i cannot wait to see
