so you probably clicked on this video
because you're trying to find a way for
you to start an amazon business from
your house and this video is definitely
going to help you because i started my
business on amazon around seven years
ago i started in my bedroom and i was
able to scale it up to my first office
space and i'm going to break down some
things that you need to know if you're
looking to start an amazon home based
business let's go what is going on
people welcome back to my channel if
you're new my name is sam and what i do
here is break down various different
tips and tricks when it comes to making
money online in today's video what i
want to do is give you guys a
step-by-step video that's going to give
you a clear understanding of exactly how
you can start an amazon business from
your house this is the video that i wish
i watched when i first decided to start
selling on amazon many years ago because
it would have given me a lot more
clarity in terms of what i should be
doing and what i shouldn't be doing so
make sure you stick around to the end
today you don't miss anything as always
i don't waste any more time i want to
get right into the video if you find any
value in it at any point don't forget to
press the like button don't forget to
subscribe as well hit the bell
notification let's jump straight into
the video all right so first things
first one of the things that you need to
be aware of if you are looking to start
an amazon business from your house is
that you're probably going to go down
the route of doing amazon fbm and fbm
stands for fulfilled by merchant the
other option that you could take is
called amazon fba which stands for
fulfilled by amazon if you're gonna go
down the route of doing fbm you're gonna
be in control of packing all of your
orders every day however if you go down
the route of doing fba you're gonna ship
your inventory to an amazon warehouse
and they're gonna pack and pick all of
your orders and then ship it out
whenever you make a sell so this video
is going to be focused on the people
that want to do fbm that maybe have
space in their house and maybe have
spare time and they're willing to pick
and pack the orders and ship it out
every day of course fba is a bit more
automated you don't have to worry about
shipping out orders and things like that
but you're going to have to pay an extra
fee for that so this video is going to
be targeted towards the people that want
to go down the route of doing fbm all
right so one of the first things that
you need to do is find a product to sell
now you need to make sure that it's
definitely a winning product and by
winning what i mean is that you want to
make sure that you've got a high
likelihood of being able to sell it
before you go and source the item from
china or you source the item from any
supplier now there's various different
ways that you can find a winning product
to sell but i'm going to show you two
different ways in today's video i'm
going to show you a free method and i'm
going to show you a paid method and it
goes without saying that the paid option
is going to give you a few more options
and it's going to make things a little
bit more easier when it comes to
actually knowing which product to sell
on amazon but in saying that the free
method is also going to give you an idea
of exactly what to look out for and it's
also going to give you an idea of
exactly what customers are actually
buying specifically on amazon now first
things first what you're going to do is
go over to alibaba.com now if you've
never heard of alibaba.com it's a
website where you're going to be able to
find suppliers mainly in china where
they're going to be able to now social
with products that you're going to be
able to sell for markup and make profit
but the way that you can use alibaba
when it comes to doing product research
is that you can go over here and go to
this section where it says top ranked
products and what this page is going to
show you is a lot of the items that the
ebay sellers amazon sellers as well as
some shopify drop shippers use when it
comes to knowing what item to sell on
their stores and the way that you're
going to use it is that you're going to
scroll through and try and find an item
that you're happy to sell ideally you
want to make sure that it's a small item
that fits into a small box because by
doing this you're going to be able to
save money when it comes to postage from
your supplier and you now shipping it to
your customer so scrolling down over
here we can see this item which is
winter outdoor work gloves so now that
we know that this is a top ranked
product according to alibaba what i'm
going to do now is go over to amazon and
double check the reviews and see if
sellers that are on the first page don't
really have a lot of reviews because the
less reviews they have it means that
there's a high likelihood of me being
also able to sell this item because it
means that there's less competition all
right so i've just jumped onto amazon
i've typed in winter gloves and just
scrolling down a lot of the sellers that
are on the first page don't have a lot
of reviews now this one does have 8 000
reviews however this one over here only
has six reviews this one only has 26
reviews and they're still on the first
page which means that there's a high
likelihood that if i was to list this
item on my amazon store i may be able to
land on the first page as long as i do
everything right when it comes to amazon
seo which is amazon search engine
optimization and using the right
keywords within my listing so that's one
method that you can use to find a
winning product if you don't want to pay
for paid product research software the
only issue with doing it this way is
that you're not going to be able to know
exactly how much money each individual
seller is making you're not going to be
able to really do real product research
to know if it's a product that's worth
importing and selling yourself and
that's why i always recommend people to
use some sort of product research
software and the one that i'm going to
show you in today's video is jungle
scout so i've just logged into my jungle
scout account and i've come to this
section over here where it says product
research and i've clicked on product
database using this tool jungle scout is
now going to be able to show me what
item is performing well depending on
what filters i set so i've already
changed it to united kingdom because i'm
based in the uk you're then going to be
able to select one or multiple different
categories so you can either select baby
products you can either select pet
supplies but in today's video i'm going
to select garden and outdoors the next
filter that you want to look at is
product hair over here you want to
select standard for seller type you want
to select both amazon fba and amazon fbm
in the price section you want to do it
between 15
to a hundred dollars and for the maximum
amount of reviews you want to do 500. so
those are the filters that i'm going to
set for today's video sometimes i do a
little bit more filters but i just want
to keep it simple for you guys in
today's video now what i'm going to do
is click on search so from this point
jungle scout is now going to be able to
show us which items are performing well
now as you can see at the top right here
we're going to be able to see all of
these different columns for example
monthly revenue the amount of sales that
the particular item got the price of the
item how many reviews this specific item
has but one of the first things i like
to do is make sure that the monthly
sales is set from highest to lowest and
all you simply need to do from this
point is to scroll through and see if
there's an item that stands out to you
that you believe that you're going to be
able to sell to the best of your ability
in terms of being able to market it you
know having a passion for it and then
from there you're going to do a little
bit more research but first things first
i'm just going to scroll through and try
to find an item that i want to do a
little bit more research into all right
guys so i was able to find this item
right here which is a garden water hose
tap timer personally i don't know what
this item is but i could see that this
specific listing was able to generate
over 74 000 pounds so what i'm going to
do from this point is actually go over
to the amazon website and i'm going to
use the jungle scout extension tool to
show you exactly what you need to look
out for to definitely make sure that
it's a product that's worth selling all
right so i've just typed in water hose
tap timer and what we're going to do
from this point is scroll through and
we're going to use the jungle scout
extension tool to see exactly how much
money each individual listing is making
not only that we need to look out at the
reviews and see whether or not they have
a lot of reviews if there's reviews that
have less than 10 that are able to make
a decent amount of money every single
month but let me show you what i'm
talking about alright so down here we
can see that there's a listing on the
first page and it's only got one review
however using the extension tool we can
see that this seller has been able to
generate over 5 000 pounds in monthly
revenues with this one item and this
seller over here only has two reviews
and they've been able to generate over 1
000 pounds in monthly revenue and
scrolling down just a little bit more
this seller over here only has three
reviews and they've been able to
generate over 18 000 pounds in monthly
revenue and one of the final things that
you want to look at once you have
installed the jungle scout extension
tool is that you're going to click on it
at the top and it's going to bring up
this page and this is very useful
because there's one key thing that i
like to look at on this page here which
is the opportunity score so this section
right here is going to give you a score
between one to ten and if it's one it
means that it's not really a product
that's worth selling if it's ten it's
probably one of the best products that
you can sell on amazon however five as
you can see it's high demand with medium
competition which is perfect now of
course it'll be better if it was high
demand and low competition but with an
opportunity score of five we can
definitely still work with that it just
means that we've got a high likelihood
of being able to make sales on a
consistent basis and that's why i think
using something like jungle scout is
useful because you're going to be able
to go through the step-by-step process
that i've shown you in today's video so
if you want to sign up for jungle scout
i might have a trial link down below or
i might have a discounted link in my
description down below so make sure you
check that out so moving on to one of
the next key components that you need to
be aware of if you're thinking about
starting an amazon business directly
from your house which is that you need
to find a supplier that's now going to
be able to source you with these
products on a consistent basis and one
of the websites that i've been using now
for the past eight nine ten years when
it comes to finding a supplier that i'm
going to be able to use over the long
term is alibaba and the reason why i
like to use alibaba is because you're
going to be able to find various
different suppliers and then pick which
one is best for you in terms of their
communication skills in terms of their
price etc etc and the way that you use
it is that you just go over to
alibaba.com type in the item that you're
looking for which i've just done now and
then what you want to do is try and find
a supplier that stocks the exact same
type of item that's performing well on
amazon so i'm just going to jump back
over to jungle scout and as we can see
right here this seller was able to make
over 53 000 pounds from this type of
digital water timer so let me just click
into it just to get a better look so
this is what the item looks like so what
i'm gonna do is go back over to
alibaba.com and see if i'm gonna be able
to find a similar one
and straight away i was able to find the
exact same type of water filter on
alibaba.com so this is the one on amazon
and this is the one on alibaba.com right
there and one thing that you need to
make sure is that the supplier has been
on alibaba before minimum of five years
and as you can see this one's been there
for 10 years the more years supply has
been on alibaba it means that you're
going to have less issues with them in
terms of quality of the products and the
service that they're going to offer so
that's why i always like to look for a
supply that's been on alibaba for the
longest time possible now of course
there's some other things that you need
to look out for that i'm not going to
spend too much time in today's video
talking about because i've already made
a video walking you through everything
you need to know when it comes to
contacting suppliers on alibaba.com i'm
going to leave that video right there
make sure you check that video out
straight after this one because i don't
want this video to end up being 20 or 30
minutes long so one of the final things
i'm going to touch on in today's video
is the sign up process and the fees that
you can expect to pay so when it comes
to signing up to amazon you need to head
over to
sellercentral.amazon.com
or call the uk depending on where you're
based and this is the page that you're
going to see and then all you need to do
is follow the step-by-step process give
them all the information they need all
the accurate information because if you
give them any wrong bit of information
whether it's your name your address your
date of birth your bank details whatever
information it asks for you need to make
sure that it's accurate because they're
gonna run a check to make sure that
you're a real person and when it comes
to the actual fees that you can expect
to pay so there's two different options
you're gonna have an option to register
for the individual plan or the
professional plan now the professional
plan is going to cost you 25 pounds
excluding vat so it's going to be around
30 pounds per month that you're going to
need to pay for the professional plan
however the individual plan is going to
cost you 75 p every single time you sell
an item plus any additional selling fees
and each individual plan comes with
their own features so i'm not going to
go through all of them in today's video
but when you head over to this website
which is sell.amazon.com uk forward
slash pricing you're going to be able to
now see exactly what you can do and what
you can't do depending on which plan you
go with so just to give you a quick
example of what you can't do with the
individual plan that you can do with the
professional one is that you're not
going to be able to sell in additional
categories you're not going to be able
to bulk list you're not going to be able
to manage your inventory with
spreadsheets and reports etc so these
are the things that you can't do there's
some other ones that you can't do as
well i'm not going to go through all of
them that's why i would say head over to
this website and decide on which plan is
going to be best suited for you now if
you're enjoying this video so far don't
forget to press the like button i really
appreciate that really helps out the
channel really helps out the video in a
big way and allows me to continue making

basic things that you need to know when
it comes to selling on amazon click the

lot of good feedback from it alright
